Monday
Ali's back yesterday. She didn't call us when she's in New York. Not even a mail. I mean...we've been friends for years, is it that hard to keep in contact? If she really care about us at all, she would've at least send us a postcard. I didn't ask for much. Just a simple how'd you do is enough for me, but did she do it? No. The worse thing is that she didn't even tell me she's coming back to Rosewood. I thought after all these years she's gonna grow up, but no! She had to be a bitch. She even dared to pretend she didn't know me!
"Spencer!"
Melissa broke my thoughts. I looked over at Wren, he gave me a little smile as he said, "Your sister asked if she can use your car," with his thick British accent.
"What? No, that's my car! I'm using it," I said whilst getting up from the table and left for school. As I walked to my car, I saw Ali. She looked... different from the Ali I know. Well, for starters, The Ali will never wear sneakers and especially beanie. She loves to flaunt her hair. Maybe, loved is the correct tense for now. I'm not dreaming right? Can someone explain to me, why would Alison DiLaurentis wear a pants? And a sweater? She looked like a guy!
"Hey! Do you...need a ride?" I asked with a bit of uncertainty.
Alison turned to see my face. She then smiled at me. Wait what? Since when did she smile? I thought she only know how to smirk. Anyway, Alison's cerulean orbs were still locked on my face. I decided to break the tension, "If you want, you can carpool with me."
"Uhmm, sure... I'm Alison DiLaurentis by the way."
"I know. We're. Nothing," We're friends. We always have sleepover at the barn. Goddammit Ali! Why are you pretending like you don't know me? I'm your friend. Don't you remember?!! "Let's go then. You don't wanna be late."
Just as I said that, Alison's mother came with keys dangling from the inside of her pants' pocket, "Ali, let's go! It's your first day."
Alison looked at me apologetically. "I thought you said you're busy?"
"Get inside," said Mrs. D with a tone of finality. Ali obeyed her mother but not before casting a smile at my way. Was it a smile? I don't know.
I was going to go until Mrs. D said, "Can I talk to you, Spencer? Alone. I mean," that stopped my motion. I nodded. We went to my family's garage, leaving Alison alone in the car.
"What's wrong, Mrs. D?"
"Stay away from Alison!" She spat. Her nose blared like a siren.
"What? I'm her friend. You don't have any right to break our friendship...wait. Oh now I see. You're the one who didn't allow Ali to call us in New York! I can't believe you did that," I said in disbelief as the truth's unraveling.
"Friend? She didn't even remember you at that time." Scoffed Mrs. D.
"She didn't...is that why? I...wait...you guys moved to New York...and then she came back,'' I gasped as I realised something. "She have...amnesia...because of her trauma?" I said, finally realising the truth. Then, why would Mrs. D told me to stay away from Ali? Shouldn't she asked for my help? A lot of things doesn't really make any sense. Oh my gosh! My head is exploding.
"Why'd you tell me to stay away from her then?"
"Because right now, you're the last person I can count on. She may not remember everything, but I do. And I know everything. So, stay away from my daughter."
With that, she left me with more questions that I can't answer. God, I hate not knowing things!
Bukkk!
I turned my attention to the noise. To my surprise, well get this. I saw Alison friggin DiLaurentis! With a guy in front of her. And a huge chemistry book just beside the guy's...head? Alison walked closer to the guy and as she kneeled down, she picked the chemistry book which I assumed was hers. Then she left like nothing ever happened!
"What the hell was that?" I heard some jock talking to his friends.
"Remember that bitch I told you about? Back in my middle school day."
"The bitch that won't have sex with you? Cause you have a tiny ding-dong?"
"Dude shut up! Anyway, that's her."
"So...she almost busted that poor guy's head with knowledge cause...of what? Asking if she's free so that they can hangout in the janitor closet?"
"What? No! He called some girl, a dyke."
"Bravo! Another feminist. We already have Sean Awkward for that. Dude, check out that girl's rack," Next thing I know, he's catcalling some poor sophomore. "Nice rack!"
"Big ass, nice rack. That's my motto from now on." The guy continued.
"Idiot," I mumbled under my breath.
I didn't saw Ali anywhere again after that. Not even at lunch. Maybe she eat outside. Arghhh, I'm late for the meeting! Another tedious work. Why the hell did I joined the student council again?
English. Finally, some break! Oh wait, all of the girls have this class. I wonder if Ali got this class too. That's going to be soooo awkward. Especially for Hanna. Wait, Mona's here too right? I took my usual seat as I looked around me. Emily's already here. She sat at the back next to some big guy with a superhero sweatshirt. Gee, Em. Nice call. After a few minutes, Hanna and her posse came. Hanna took the seat at the middle, the center of attention while her new bff sat to her right. I noticed some black spot just below her eyes. She did a great job at hiding them but if it's not for my experience in lack of sleep, I'll probably missed them too. 'Is she in trouble?' I thought to myself. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't realise Aria sitting besides me.
"Hey, Spence," said Aria with a smile that didn't quite reached her eyes.
"Hey," I contemplated on saying the next thing that came to my mind but the door suddenly shot open as Mr. Fitz took his seat.
"Is this english...404?"
And of course. There's Alison. Fashionably late as always. She looked at the students like she was scanning them. One by one.
"Uhmmm, you must be Alison DiLaurentis. Take a seat." Said Mr. Fitz, looking a bit fazed. I wonder why?
Alison took the front seat in front of Noel Kahn. Mr. Fitz told us to take the book we're analysing this time.
"Who have done the chapters I asked you to read last week?"
Alison put her hand up.
"Oh, have you read the whole book Alison?" Asked Mr. Fitz, impressed.
"Yes. Although... I'm not trying to be rude here...but, err... why'd you call me my first name? I'm sure we're not on the first name basis...right? Again, with all due respect, sir."
"I'm sorry, miss DiLaurentis. Anyway, let's discuss the storyline from the prologue to chapter 14. Anyone wanna share their thoughts on that?"
"Can I try?" Said Alison again. Which is a shocker because Alison DiLaurentis never participate in class. Except for making fun of nerds which is what Mona is doing right now. She snickered as Alison stands up.
"In my opinion, the writer used the prologue as a way to alter the timeline of the story. Only in chapter 14, we, the readers find out that what really happened in chapter 1 until chapter 13 are actually in the past. Which explains the use of past tense. The writer used this technique to create suspense for the readers as the storyline progressed. In chapter 1, we were introduced to the characters' characteristic and their significant in the storyline. For example... "
"That's it. Thank you miss DiLaurentis. "
"But I'm not finished."
"Yeah, I know. It's just that you're being too detailed and..."
"Blablabla. You're just mad that I humiliate you in front of your precious little student."
"Alison!" Said Mr. Fitz as his ears getting redder.
"You're not my friend. Stop calling me that. With all due respect, of course."
Mr. Fitz turned his back against us as he wrote something on the board.
"Alrighty."
"Alrighty," mocked Alison.
"What about the moral values? What do we know, what have we learn from the chapters?" Asked Mr. Fitz, ignoring Alison raised hand.
Seeing Mr. Fitz ignoring her, Alison quickly said, "Kindness, bravery, loyalty, love, determination and patience which is something you clearly don't have, Mr. Fitz."
"That's it. Get out of my class!"
"Yes, now I can have sex in the toilet!" Everyone laughed. Some of them even whistled. Barbarian.
"By the way, go to the principal's..."
"Office. I know," Alison interjected. She pulled out her phone as she's walking to the door. All of a sudden, she exclaimed loudly, "Who's A? Class, listen to this! "Even though you don't remember anything, I know everything. Your pandora's with me. -A" Wow, a stalker! Never have that before. Anyway, if you know everything...you should know that I have a mole on my lower buttock that I like to call Patrick. She's a charmer. I guess my new nickname is molestar now since the shape looked like a star. And that's...how you make your class interesting my good sir," with that, she's out of the classroom.
She don't remember anything but I know everything. Yup, Mrs. D really want me to stay away from her daughter. I looked over at Aria, she looked frightened? Why? Maybe she didn't finish her homework. Then, I turned to see Hanna who's also looking very distraught. What's going on? I looked behind me and thankfully, Emily just have a shocked expression. At least her expression is understandable, but what's with those two?
