"Now you're just being mean!" Deeks said loudly.

Sam caught Callen's eye and rolled his eyes. They had been hearing complaints like this all day. All day and it was just after lunch. That was a lot of complaining, if you didn't know.

"I am not."

"You are!"

"Not!"

"Are!"

"Enough!" Sam said finally. "Both of you, enough!"

Huh. Callen checked the time on his laptop. Sam snapped an awful lot later than he thought he would.

They both fell silent, as you were wont to do when Sam told you off. It wasn't good to be on his bad side, after all. It made them quieten down for all of two minutes.

"Can I just have one?"

"No."

"I know you have the bag with you."

"I do not. I left it at home."

That last sentence was said incredibly unconvincingly and they all knew it.

"Yeah, right. I know you've stashed it away somewhere. I'll hunt it out. You may as well save us both some time and grief and just tell me where it is."

"You'll never find it," she retorted, abandoning any pretence of not having the candy on her.

Deeks' eyes glinted with the promise of a challenge.

"Oh, I'll find it."

"Uh, what's going on?" Eric asked from the top of the stairs.

"Is there a case?" Sam asked hopefully.

Eric shook his head. "No. Not yet."

"Then why are you out of your cave?" He asked, irritable since he had to put up with Kensi and Deeks' nonsense for longer than he wanted.

"He was being nosey," Callen said knowingly. "So was Nell but she sent him out here."

The guilty look on their Technical Operator's face confirmed just that.

There's nothing going on," Sam said firmly.

Which was pointless because obviously there was something going on if Eric and Nell could hear it from Ops. Eric actually gave Sam a sceptical look.

"So" he said, looking at them.

"Kensi isn't sharing," Deeks accused, pointing at his partner.

Kensi threw her hands up in the air and made an exasperated noise.

"I don't have to share!"

"Yeah, but you could be nice and do it anyway!"

"Uh," Eric just looked more confused than before. "What do you want Kensi to share?"

Deeks looked to Kensi who glared back. It looked like it was going to have to be Deeks to explain. This ought to be interesting.

"There was this big bag of Reece's Pieces that we had," Deeks continued and then he pointed at Kensi. "And she refused to share."

"Did you eat the whole bag again?" Callen asked, turning to Kensi with an amused look on his face.

"That was one time and it was candy corn," Kensi said defensively.

Callen just raised an eyebrow at her.

"I didn't eat the whole bag, happy?"

"Then what are you complaining about?" Sam asked Deeks.

"Because she refuses to share them!"

That got him and Sam staring at him. Did they hear that right?

"What?" Deeks demanded.

"Why did you think that Kensi would share those?" Callen asked, shaking his head.

It was every well known that Kensi didn't share any type of sugary treat. You had to sneak some from her stash if you wanted any.

"She has to say yes sometimes."

"I really don't."

"Hmpf." Deeks crossed his arms and pouted but Kensi just smirked at him.

"Why are you so insistent about this? You don't normally go on about me not sharing, you usually just sneak them from me," Kensi said in exasperation, knowing full well what her partner got up to.

That was a fair point. This went beyond Deeks' normal teasing.

"It might come as a surprise to some but I actually happen to like Reece's Pieces."

"Then you should have got your own."

"Wow, heartless."

"I think you mean selfish," Callen corrected in a teasing tone.

"Yes, and yes." Kensi agreed unashamedly, popping another one into her mouth.

Where did that even come from? Didn't she just say that she hid them? Did she split it up into stashes or something? Would they start finding them in weird places about the place?

Well, at least she was being honest with herself. That was a plus, wasn't it? Deeks didn't seem to think so if his pout was anything to go by. Kensi remained unaffected by it.

"How many even is there in a bag?" Callen asked.

Kensi shrugged. "A lot?"

"And how many have you eaten?"

"A lot?"

"I'm surprised you haven't turned into a piece of candy," Deeks teased.

Kensi made a rude gesture at him.

"Oh, wow. Scary."

And that got him a glare which was a lot more scary.

"Leave me and my candy alone."

"If I did that, you'd end up in a sugar coma somewhere and I wouldn't get any of it."

"Sounds good to me."

"How much sugar do you eat?" Sam asked. "It can't be healthy."

Kensi shrugged, not really knowing. Which didn't help Sam at all.

"Unbelievable," he muttered. "Between you and Callen, I don't know who's worse."

"He is!"

"She is!"

They both said at the same time, pointing to each other.

"At least I eat!" Kensi said triumphantly.

"I eat!"

"More crap than I do, Sam complains about it all the time!"

"That's because Deeks cooks healthy things for the two of you or else, you're just as bad as I am!"

Kensi pulled a face at him but didn't retort because she knew he was right. Neither of them exactly had the high ground when it came to healthy eating.

"I bet if you were a piece of candy, you'd taste sweet," he said with a waggle of his eyebrows.

She threw one at him for that comment but he managed to catch it and smugly pop it into his mouth.

"Hmm. You really do appreciate things more when you have to fight for them."

That earned him an eye roll from his partner but he would take it. He got a Reece's Piece out of it, after all.
