A/N this is how chapter2 should have finished but my typing is so slow i wanted to post something so posted what was ready

Back at Homeland H.Q. Walter was becoming uneasy and angry at the same time . He was unable to connect to the garage server or get a cell signal ."The earthquake as probably damaged the mobile phone mast's" said Cabe . "I need to get back to the garage and check for any damage ." Walter replied. "Well the tremors seem to have stopped , maybe we can make it back now , so come on lets get out of here . Katherine we will get back to you about the C.I.A. job but we may have to delay for a few days ." shouted Cabe across the office as both he and Walter collected all the items they had bought with them . "O.K. go check the garage and let me know the situation there , we will discuss the job in a couple of day's " replied Katherine The ride back to the garage was done mainly in silence has Cabe needed to concentrate negotiating through all the rubble and fires from the damaged gas mains , spouts from broken fire hydrants and all the cars abandoned on all of the roads ."

As they approached the garage they could see flames and smoke rising from the numerous fires that were burning of what seemed a large area of badly damaged buildings .After about an hour they managed to reach within about 400 yards of the garage , but any further advance would need to be done on foot ."Well that's as far we are going to be able to go in the S.U.V. ,it looks like a foot slog from here ." said Cabe with some sadness in his voice .

"It would certainly be the obvious plan , so lets get going .We may be of more use once we get to the garage ." replied Walter . They both set off still having to be careful as they proceeded ,not wanting to slip or fall on all the rubble that was lying around . The journey was not easy so little talking was done . After about 30 minutes they reached the area of the garage , as they turned the corner both Walter and Cabe stopped and stared at what was left of the garage , basically a pile of rubble. "What !" is all Walter could shout as he took in the scene in front of him . Cabe moved up to him and put his arm around his shoulder . "There is nothing we can do now Walter lets go and checkout the rest of the area "Whispered Cabe . "But what about Florence when we left she was working in her lab. Do you think she got out ?" "If she was in there when the quake hit i doubt she would got out in time. " said Cabe with some sadness in his voice . "I have lost everything now Cabe , my home , my memories , everything all i owned was in the garage ." Walter spoke very close to tears as he slowly sat down on a pile of rubble. "Come on i will take you to my house to check it out if that is o.k. , we can stay there and try and make sense of all of this ." Cabe almost whispered to Walter while gently reaching for Walter's arm and slowly lifting him back onto his feet, before making their way back to the S.U.V. .

Not far from the garage Centipede Partners had set up their headquarters .When the earthquake struck the doors were locked and no lights were on .The tremors reached the building within seconds of reaching the garage and the damage just as devastating .As the building collapsed the sign on the door started to slip and just before the building collapsed all you could see of the sign was,

"Before we check out my house i would like to check on Allie to make sure she is safe and well . I will check her workplace first if she is not there i will check her you alright with that Walter ?" Said Cabe with a nervous shake in his voice. "Of course Allie is the most important person in your life ,you need to make sure she is o.k." Replied Walter though Cabe noticed he had a glazed look in his eyes .The journey across town to Allie's workplace took over a hour due to the chaos on the roads caused by the earthquake . As they arrived they saw the building had not suffered any real damage just a few broken window panes .Cabe rushed out of the car and into the building .Within minutes he reappeared with his arm tightly around Allie's shoulders and a big smile on his face .They both walked towards Walter who greeted Allie with a half smile and "I am glad you are alright."

Cabe quickly explained to Allie about the garage and that he was taking Walter back to his house .Before leaving he hugged Allie and gave a full blooded kiss . He then returned to the S.U.V. followed slowly by Walter .

The whole of Los Angeles rescue services were flat out trying to fight the fires and rescue trapped people, as well as taking the injured to the already over capacity hospitals around the city . Homeland was doing it's very best to coordinate the services , but more and more incidents were being reported so they were at breaking point . Katherine was still at the office ,what could she do ? It was then she realized what she needed was a Scorpion miracle, but that was not possible ,so she just got on with it .

Cabe and Walter arrived at Cabe's home which at first glance appeared to be structurally sound . "What is the first thing we should ?" asked Cabe . "As the garage is wrecked i have nothing left but the clothes i am standing up in , and the computer in my backpack so i have no idea what can be done ." replied Walter . "Well you have a home here as long as you need it , the other things are only material things that can be replaced once the mess of the disaster is sorted out ." replied Cabe . "But it is not just that ,i have lost the love of my life ,and a boy i considered to be my son , plus three people i thought of as friends, all have gone ." spoke Walter with such sadness in his voice . "For now lets get back to Homeland to see if we can be of any help there ." Replied Cabe with a certain amount of authority in his voice in an attempt to bring him out of his depression .

Arriving back at Homeland Headquarters Cabe and Walter made their way to Katherine's office . She looked up from her desk as they entered . "Hi how are things out there now ,how is the garage and your house Cabe ,and is Allie alright ?" " The garage is completly gone ,Walter as lost everything and Florence is dead .My house is alright apart from a few broken window panes ,Allie is fine ." replied Cabe .

Over the next 36 hours Los Angeles was slowly coming back together , most of the fires had been dealt with . With people still missing the rescuers were still sifting through the rubble of damaged buildings in an attempt to find more survivors' .Cabe and Walter did their best to help , mainly with co-ordinating the services in order to give Katherine a break ,although she argued strongly when they tried to get her to leave the office and get some sleep . She did find Walter a change of clothes , even if it was only a Homeland sweatshirt and a pair of jogging pants. Eventually Walter could not stand being inside any longer . He told Cabe he was going to go to the beach to spend some time alone.
