THE DAY OF THE KIDNAP

Walter jumped at the sound of the gunshot ,not expecting such a thing to happen . Almost immediately he was grabbed and quickly pulled out of the vehicle ,and then half dragged and half carried towards the vehicle that had pulled up alongside Agent Ricker's S.U.V. he was roughly bundled into the back seat of the vehicle and the two men got in one on either side of him, both wore tee shirts and jeans .They were joined by a third man who climbed in behind the wheel as he did he turned to Walter and in heavily accented English . "Welcome Mr O'Brian ." "How do you know my name you are certainly not C.I.A. seeing that you have just shot a C.I. ."Asked Walter . Before answering him the driver put the vehicle into gear and pulled away leaving a large cloud of dust behind it. "Very astute Mr . O'Brian ,no my name is Migel and i run a large drug running organisation and i need your help with my computers ." "Why would i help you ,and how did you arrange to get me out here ?" "Very simple i was supposed to pay the agent $100000 ,he arranged the computer glitches then requested a top man in computers . He knew you worked with Homeland so it was easy to persuade C.I.A. H.Q. to ask Homeland for your help . With regard to why you will help me ,if you do not i will kill you and then go after ; Paige and Ralph Dineen ,Happy Quinn , Toby Curtis , Silvester Dodd and Cabe Gallow and Allie Jones . So you see you do not really have much choice and like you i only state facts ." "If i help you ,what is stopping you still killing me then going after the others ?" Asked Walter. " I will give you my word help me and you will be released unharmed." "Like you promised the Agent $100000 and shot him instead ." Queried Walter. "Are well he was greedy he wanted $250000 , so he had to go ." By this time the S.U.V. had left the road and was travelling a track through a heavily wooded area . They soon arrived at a clearing which was still protected by a high ceiling of branches from the trees that surrounded the clearing .Scattered around the clearing were various buildings ,mainly they seemed to be workshops ,a few seemed to sleeping quarters and one medium sized building ,with a large generator outside ,and a mass of Ariel's fixed to the roof . The car pulled up close to that building and the man on Walters left got out of the car and pulled Walter with him . In the meantime Migel and the other man had got out of the car . Migel led and the other two flanked Walter and marched him into the building .

Inside Walter could see various computers on desks but no people were anywhere to be seen . "You might like to check out the equipment , then i will explain what i want you to do . But excuse my manners ,would you like a coffee and maybe something to eat ?" Asked Migel . " A coffee and some fermented fish would be nice ." Replied Walter with a certain amount of sarcasm in his voice . "But of course Mr O'Brian we knew of your taste for the fish so we got a supply especially for you ." Said Migel and sending one of the men to fetch Walter's request .

START OF THE PLAN

The plane carrying Cabe and the team landed eight hours after take off ,at around 21.00Hours local time They knew they could not do much at that time of night so they decided they would go to the hotel Walter and Cabe had stayed at on the previous trip. They picked up the car Katherine had arranged to be at the airport and made their way to the hotel .They managed to book three rooms ,and after a quick drink and a snack at the bar they decided to get some sleep then meet in the lobby at 06.00hours to decide what to do next .

Next morning they all met up in the lobby . Rusty Simone and Nick went to collect the weapons Katherine had arranged to be made available . All the others were just sitting around ,speaking in whispers trying to put together some sort of plan to rescue Walter. About a hour later Rusty, Simone and Nick arrived back . "Everything we needed is in the S.U.V. but Simone insists on checking it all out before we use it .So i would suggest we drive out of town in the direction we need to head . We can stop some distance from town ,possibly somewhere we can drive off the road so Simone can check out the equipment ." "That sounds like a plan ." said Cabe ." While Simone checks the equipment out we can look over the photographs Ralph gave us to see if we can spot something that will help us." "O.K. lets load up the S.U.V. and set off ." Said Rusty .

After travelling for about half a hour they reached a section of road were there was a cutaway in the trees ,about wide enough for the S.U.V. . Happy was driving and immediately drove off the road into the wooded area ,she pulled the S.U. about 100 yards in from the road , the trees giving cover from above and from the road . They all exited the car , Simone immediately went to the back of the S.U.V. and removed all of the equipment . Paige helped her spread ot a blanket so she could start stripping down the guns one at a time ,cleaning and oiling each one to ensure that they would not misfire . Paige in the mean time was checking the boxes of ammunition to make sure they were all full and of the correct calibre . Happy checked out the S.U.V. engine to ensure every thing was O.K. .Toby Cabe and Rusty were scanning the photo's for clues of some kind . Nick was on patrol to ensure all of their safety. Rusty suddenly stood up straight and called Cabe . "This looks like a possible way into that area of buildings ." You could well be right ." Answered Cabe .

Once Simone had completed her equipment check ,everything was put back into the vehicle and everyone climbed back into the S.U.V.. Happy was still driving and Rusty instructed . "Go as far as the clearing were Cabe was taken to ,we will then park up hopefully we will be able to find cover for the vehicle." After about thirty minutes they arrived at the area ,Happy managed to get the S.U.V. between some of the trees to give them some cover from the road . Rusty then began to give instructions as to what was to happen . "Simone ,Cabe and myself are going to do a recon .on the site we saw on the photographs ,to make sure it is the place we need ,we also need to try and figure out just how many people are there . Nick you will stay here with the others by the S .U.V. to provide protection for the others ." " leave me with a gun and i can help Nick. He does not have eyes in the back of his head. " Happy said in a voice that was not to be argued with . Rusty gave Cabe a stare ,Cabe just nodded his head . " O.K. you can have a rifle and ammunition but remember Nick is in charge and no friendly fire please ." Rusty replied with a small smile on his face . "It is now 11.00 hours ,we should be back with luck by 16.00 hours .The best time to attack after it's dark .We do have night vision goggles ,don't we Simone ?" Rusty asked . "Of course .i ordered them and checked them this morning . After a few further checks the three of them left on the recon. Rusty led Cabe followed ,with Simone riding point .They crossed from the S.U.V. across the clearing and disappeared into the trees .

Back at the at the vehicle Nick posted himself facing into the wooded area and Happy facing the clearing . Paige and Toby sat in the S.U.V. with the windows partially open to allow some fresh air into the car " Do you think Walter will be alright ,i just need him to be , i have so much to apologise for and beg his forgiveness it was the worst mistake of my life , loosing my temper because of a little bit of jealousy .I know he would never cheat on me but my mind was only thinking i will not allow him to leave me i will leave him first ; so i am not hurt this time . Oh Toby what have i done ?" Said Paige with tears running down her cheeks . " You are not the only one who needs to apologise ,Happy could see her family breaking up again and it was to much for her . I just followed but i should not have spoken to Walter the way i did ." Answered Toby . " Do you think he will forgive us and maybe re start Scorpion , even if he does not want to be with me ,i would still love to work with him again and Ralph just misses him so much ." Sobbed Paige . Toby put his arm around her shoulders and hugged her as she sobbed .

It took about forty minutes to reach the area were the buildings where . The three of them worked their way to the edge of the compound without showing themselves . They all removed binoculars from their utility belts and scanned the compound and all the buildings .Cabe spotted the building with the generator outside and tapped Rusty on the shoulder and pointed it out .Simone in the mean time was figuring out how many people were there and how often patrols were made .So far she had counted at least ten heavily armed men scattered around the compound ,but there could be more inside the various buildings that were placed around the compound .They carried out surveillance for about four hours gleaning all the information they could . At one point they did spot Walter being led out of the building with the generator outside he appeared to be uninjured and healthy ,after about thirty minutes he was taken back into the building . "Well he looks healthy but we could do with knowing were they take him at night ." Said Rusty .Simone answered him with a plan . "If you two go back to the others and bring back Nick plus more ammunition and guns as well as well as the grenade launcher and ten grenades .I will hide out here till dark to see exactly were they take him ." "Sounds a good plan ." Replied Cabe . "It's about 17.00 hours it should be dark about 21.00 hours , so i suggest we head back ,leaving Simone here ." Said Rusty passing Simone a bottle of water and a couple of energy bars from his backpack . " Just something to keep you going ." "Thanks Rusty , I'II see you back here around 21.00 hours ." Answered Simone . After saying goodbye to Simone ,Cabe and Rusty made their way back to the S.U.V.

They arrived back at the clearing after about forty minutes as they approached were the S.U.V. was hidden they were stopped by Nick who appeared to them like a ghost . "Were is Simone ?" He asked but not appearing to be concerned . "She stayed behind to figure out were they could be keeping Walter at night ." Replied Rusty . They made their way to the S.U.V. where they were met by three very concerned faces . "WELL ." Snapped Happy ." "Well we saw Walter and he appears unhurt and well ." Reported Cabe . "We left Simone to keep an eye on everything ,hoping she can find out were they are keeping Walter at night .We need to go over a plan of attack for tonight ." Said Rusty in is military style voice ,which got everyone's attention . " But first we need to eat and drink something , it can only be cold ration ,i am afraid we cannot risk anyone spotting smoke from a fire ." Paige got out of the vehicle and removed a box she had placed in the boot before leaving the hotel . She began to unpack the box removing smaller boxes one containg sandwiches another apples and bananas ,she brought out six bottles of water . She split the food up between them ,ensuring she kept a portion back for Simone . "Paige you are an angel ,were did you get this lot from ?" Queried Cabe . " I went to the hotel kitchen before i settled in for the night and asked them if they could provide food for seven people for a picnic today ,i fetched it while you lot were talking in the lobby and put it in the S.U.V." replied Paige "Good thinking ,thank you ." Said Cabe. "SECONDED " Rusty, Nick , Toby and Happy shouted in unison . After finishing the food and cleaning up the mess they put everything back into the box they were taken from ."Right lets see if we can come up with a sound plan for tonight ." Suggested Rusty
