I woke up on that rock with the Sun shining on my face, I must have slept there. Other than the Sun on my face, I felt a presence. Sitting up way too fast, I feel dizzy. It happens sometimes. I mumble and shake my head trying to go back to normal. When it happens, I open my eyes to see him in front of me with those beautiful blue eyes looking at me overflowing preoccupation.
—You okay Z? You were gone for the entire morning. —Asked the creature in front of me with its sweet voice. I smile.
—Yes, I'm okay Cayden. I just came to sing a bit and ended up sleeping there... The Sun is pretty good today. —I said with a sleepy voice. He laughed.
—The Sun is always good in here Z. We are in Alpha! —He opened his arms, putting them up.
—You're right. Alpha always has the best sunny days. But well... Are the others awake yet?
—Yes, they are. They woke up with your song and came over to call me for breakfast. So I came to call you because Kryos is cooking today! —He said with a sigh. —His pancakes are simply stellar!
—Oh yeah! Sure they are! So we better run before they eat them all. —I said already standing up.
—Bet I'll get there before you! —He said jumping off the rock.
—Not if I don't let you! —I said also jumping off the rock and landing right by his side. He smiled at me and we started running on our regular forms.
Cayden stood out on the forest. While I were a red fox mixing up to the trees on the forest, he was a blonde hare pouncing through the bushes. Many people asked me why he was a hare. Some say he's adopted or that he was meant to be a prey but I always denied it all. He's my twin brother. An Alpha on a Delta's body. That shall be my fault. But it's hard to explain.
We ran all the way home. I had a certain advantage but he caught up to me at the end. It was a tie. But since he swore he had gotten there first then I just let him have this one. The air filled up with the smell of Kryos' pancakes and it was absolutely amazing. That's why I made sure to call him to share this house with us.
Getting inside, we are received by the others, a piece of the incendiary force and the winged force teams. In case you're wondering I am a part of both. Wherever I'm needed, I'll be there. But I'm also the only one who does that. The others say that's an extreme waste of life, but I say that this is live it better than anyone else.
Kryos, a black wolf with intense violet eyes, was at the oven. He used an apron that took off his tough appearance. He turned over to leave some pancakes on the table when he sees me. He smiled immediately and waved with his spatula in hands. I laugh and wave back. He had always been a very gentle guy. I see how he treats Shadow, his incendiary basilisk. Always with an extreme amount of love and care.
After our breakfast, it was time for everyone to get ready for some training. Each force had its own training place but we all had a training in common to be done, melee training. We all had to know how to fight hand to hand, with or without the use of weapons. After all we won't have our powers at our disposal all the times. Most of the others here don't like melee training because they think it's outdated and unnecessary, but I think melee training is never enough. Happily we all train melee on the same place so I can always convince them of the contrary.
We are the first to get to the training grounds. We weren't early, just the others that were late. I imagine what will be the excuse this time... They always do that. And before they get there, Donnovan gets to the training ground. He came over with his griffon, Elysium, bringing the training equipment. He looks at us all and stopped on me.
—Good morning soldiers! —He said with his arms on the back of his body. —Ready for u=one more day of training until you all fall from exhaustion?
—Sir! Yes, Sir! —We all shout in unison.
—Well, too bad. I would be damned for overloading you all, idiots! —He laughed and we followed his lead. Then he suddenly was serious. —But really... You guys won't have rest today. You better be prepared for when the others get there.
With that said, he went back to his griffon to get all the equipment he brought. I make sure to go help him. He always ties it way too good for himself to untie it. Getting there, the griffon flaps his wings letting out a brief hiss. I caressed him.
—Oh come on you giant flying chicken... You know me very well... —He lowered his gigantic eagle head and rubbed up against me. I laughed. —I missed you too buddy.
—He likes you... That a rare thing y'hear? —Donnovan said while I started to untie the knots. —That thing is as grumpy as a man on the middle age crisis!
We both laughed and Elysium protested. He turned around hitting the both of us with his tail and we fell. He lets out a mocky squeal. We look at him with an angry face and he flies up leaving the equipment there. It's good that we could untie it in time.
—Yep... grumpy as fuck. —I said. Donnovan laughed.
—Oh, Z... I needed to talk to you on my room. We better go before the training begins. —He said. I never liked to hear that. Who the hell does?
—Did I do anything wrong? Oh, if it is because of that punch I threw on Thalya's face I sewar-
—No! It's not that... She deserved that... Just... I'll explain it to you there. —He said with a humble smile. I know him for way too long to trust it will be a good thing...
—Fine... Let's just go... —I said getting up and helping him stand up.
We go over to his room that always had a weird smell for me. I couldn't identify it yet. He sits down on his chair and points at another chair in front of him. I pull it, sit down and look at him who sighs.
—So... I'm sure you really won't like what I'm about to say...
—Oh, really? —I said lifting an eyebrow. He tensed up. —It doesn't even seem like I'm the subordinate here... Jeez...
—Well... Uh... Jokes apart, I noticed you never asked for a day off or vacations...
—And I won't. I don't want it. I don't need it. —I said already hating where this was going.
—That's the thing... I know you won't. That's why I'm telling you to take a vacation. —That son of a bitch didn't do that...
—No. Don... No! I said I don't want and neither I need it!
—You do need it... We all do... And... This lack of rest is going to affect you a lot... Not just here but... When the war comes by. You need to be prepared.
—AND HOW THE HELL WILL I GET PREPARED IF I'M ON VACATIONS DONNOVAN?! —I screamed. He swallowed. He knew me well enough to know I'm not the best when I'm angry.
—It's for your own good... I didn't want to do that... You are the best here Z... But even the best need to rest... —I simply look at him still pissed as fuck.
—Yessir... Where should I go? —I hate breaking orders...
—Omicron. —Oh no...
—At least they'll let me hunt there... It won't be absolutely horrible...
—Yeah... I advise you to go now... This'll save you from questions.
—Fine... Farewell... —I said getting up and going out.
—Good luck...
—Fuck you...
Just Donnovan to make me take vacations... I just hope to not have anything angering me in that place...
Kyle and I stayed on the terrace talking for a good while. I was laid there looking at the sky and Kyle watched the people walking down there. I don't know what he really thinks... But it must be something deep, maybe that guards the reasons why he doesn't talks that much? I don't know... All I know is that he always does that...
—Kyle... —I call and he looks at me. —Have you ever gone to another place that's not Omega or Iota?
—Did... Delta, Sigma, Alpha. —He said with that hoarse unused voice. —Delta bad... Sigma hurts... Alpha helps.
—Oh... I never heard of someone that went over to Sigma. It must be very different... —Kyle came over me as fast as lightning. I don't know how he does that...
—Don't... Go... —He held me by the collar and looked me in the eyes. It was uncomfortable to look him in Kyle's emerald green eyes. It's like he looked deep in my soul.
—O-okay... I won't. But would you like to go somewhere new? —He smiled and released me, slowly shaking his head in approval. —Okay... So we'll go to Omicron, What do you think?
—Omicron... Yes! —He said happy. —When?
—As soon as I tell my father. Go get ready. I'll go and call you then.
Kyle shook his head and stood up going to the hatchway from where we came. He goes down and I follow. Nayara was there and stared into Kyle's eyes. I noticed the anger she had and the fear on him. Kyle's knees trembled and his fists clenched. He mumbled something weird. It seemed like a religious rebuke but... In reverse?
—Degnoleb syawla ev'uoy erehw, lleh ot kcab og dna ereh fo tuo teg. Aluben Denmad. Damned... Nebula!
He ran over me hiding and hissing nonsense, more rebukes I suppose. He stared at her eyes and walked with me, keeping me away. She just snorts and walks away. Kyle kept looking at her while going with me. Soon he calmed down and walked normally.
—Hey buddy... What's the problem with the bitch in progress? Did she do something to you? —I asked intrigued. He looked at me, his pupils retracted as the ones of a feline.
—Been born... Nebula... Bad. Wolf... Bad... —He said with a good pause. She must torment this poor guy with Silver...
—I get it. If they ever mess with you HAVE to tell me... —He shook his head and we went separate ways.
I hurried to my father's room. It was actually a short way but I was checking if he wasn't anywhere else. Since I didn't see him anywhere else I went, I decided to go over to the throne room. Getting there I saw him sitting on his throne reading some kind of decree that must have been revised a while ago. When he saw me, he smiled and left the decree for later.
—My son! What brought you here? —He asked. I smile.
—Hi dad. I was going to ask you permission to travel with Kyle. I wanted to take him somewhere new...
—Good... I was really going to propose a recon trip. Maybe you would make some new friends? —He said in a joking tone.
—I have Kyle... I don't need anything more... He's all I could have ever asked for... —I said a little serious.
—The same way, it's good to have some outer friends for when you need to go out and take shelter somewhere else...
—Well... You're... You're right... Maybe I'll make some new friends in Omicron.
—Omicron... Nice choice. Just please be aware over there... There are many kind of creatures there. There could be Deltas or... Alphas... —He said fearful.
—I'm sure that the Alphas wouldn't hurt me for nothing... But the Deltas...
—Yes, I know... Well... Good luck there my son. —He said smiling. I make a short bow and go out. Kyle will be so happy.
I hurry through the corridors and end up bumping into a disgusting scene, my little sister was there with that wolf again, they were leaning against her room's door and... Ugh... I prefer to keep you guys from that scene... I just walked straight past them going to the lodging.
Getting there I saw Kyle with his handbag ready and decent clothing. He used a black hooded overcoat. I think he really dislikes to call attention for him. He smiled when he saw me and came over.
—We... Go? —He asked.
—Yes Kyle. My father said yes.
—Handbag? —He asked looking at my empty hands.
—Look at that... I said lifting a finger.
I snapped my fingers on the right hand and, in a shady cloud, a ready handbag appeared on my left hand. My clothes changed to something more discrete and natural, an overcoat that looked like Kyle's and my top hat. I still used my social shirt and bow tie. I wouldn't take that off for anything. Kyle's eyes shone.
—Wow! vHe said. I smiled.
—Let's go? —I asked. He shook his head and we went out of the castle.
An Omega prince and my favorite Alpha in all this universe on the same place... Hah... That'll be veeeery funny...
