Silver was now back in the forest, he picked up the disc that he removed from the Laser "So why didn't you?". He put the disc down and went in the direction he saw the Laser go. He eventually went through a rock crevasse and found a pond inside a crater surrounded by tall rock cliffs. He saw burns all around the ground when there was suddenly a boom sound. Silver jumped back and saw the Laser. It tried to shoot upwards out of the cove but there was a small explosion and the Laser fell back down. Silver watched amazed as the Laser kept trying to escape but every time it tried there was a burst of energy and it just fell back down. Silver took out his notebook and drew the Laser with two arms. He kept watching it "What's wrong?". He then realises that the Laser was missing one of its arms. It goes over to a pond and turns black and gains a more eel like appearance. It forms a mouth with serrated teeth, and it grows a serpent tail that grows to incredible length. Its tail got caught from a rock and after a second the tail shrunk to only a foot allowing it to move. It tried to bight down at a fish but missed. Silver looked guilty but dropped his pencil which fell off the cliff. The Laser spotted him; it tilts his head watching him curiously.
That night Silver entered the hall where the others were sitting with Omega at a table "Where did Blaze go wrong?" "I mistimed my somersault dive. It was sloppy. It threw off my reverse tumble". Omega nodded "Correct. You all must acknowledge your faults which there are many". Silver is about to sit down but Shard stops him. Omega watches Silver move to a different table "Where did Silver go wrong?" "Uh, he showed up" Wave said, "He didn't get eaten" Jet added. Blaze glared at Silver "He's never where he should be". Omega stepped forward "You will all need to memorise this". He put a book on the table "The wisp manual. Everything we know about every wisp we know of. Study it". He walks out of the hall. Jet looks annoyed "He wants us to read?" "While we're still alive?" Wave said looking half asleep. Shard rolled his eyes "Why read words when you can just kill the stuff the words tell you about". Rotor looked excited "I've read it seven times. There's this wisp that turns into a spiky ball and tears through your stomach. And there's this other one-" "Yeah. That sounds great. There was a chance I'd read it but now…" Jet said. Shard stood up "You guys read. I'll go kill stuff". Everyone got up and followed him up except for Blaze. Silver walked over "So I guess we'll share?" "Read it" she leaves, "Uh, all mine, then. Wow. So, okay, I'll see you… tomorrow".
Later when the hall was empty Silver entered holding a torch. He opened the book and read out loud "Wisp classifications. Strike class. Fear class. Mystery class". He flips to a random page "Void Wisp. This reclusive wisp lives in caves and dark tide pool. When startled they will suck enemies into a dark void killing all. Extremely dangerous. Kill on sight at long range". Next page "Bomb Wisp. This curious creature is able to destroy its own body in a massive explosion before reassembling unharmed. The only way to kill is to paralyse, dismember and separate the pieces. Extremely dangerous. Kill on sight". Next page "Ivory Lightening. Releases threads of electricity that can kill multiple enemies at once. Extremely dangerous". Silver hears thunder outside making him jump in fright. He gets back to the book "Jade Ghost. Can turn intangible entering the body of a victim and then making them implode. Kill on sight". He flips faster through the book "Drill. Cube. Rhythm. Eagle. Asteroid. Burns its victims. Buries its victims. Extremely dangerous. Extremely dangerous. Kill on sight. Kill on sight. Kill on sight". Finally, he made it to the last page "Laser. Speed unknown. Size unknown. The unholy offspring of light and death itself. Never engage this wisp. Your only chance: hide and pray it does not find you". Silver took out his notebook on the picture of the Laser. He took out a pencil and put a name underneath "Cyzer".
Shadow was on the lead ship of a fleet examining the map "I can almost smell them. They're close. Steady". The ship slowly sailed towards a wall of thick fog. They disappeared inside and there was suddenly a flash of orange light, and a loud smash could be heard.
Silver was standing in the arena which had now been set up a maze "Hey, you know, I just happened to notice the book had nothing on Lasers. Is there like another book or a sequel? Maybe a little Laser pamphlet". A fire ball suddenly hit Silver's axe destroying it. Omega watched them from above "Focus, Meat bag! You are not even trying". Silver saw a Burst Wisp coming right for him, so he ran. Omega watched the others "Today is all about attacking. Bursts are quick and light with great firepower". He put his hand over his chest respectfully "Such destructive capabilities. Your job is to be quicker and lighter!". The Burst fires at Rotor who blocks it with a shield. He screams "I'm really beginning to question your teaching methods!". Wave and Jet got behind the wisp and turned with it to stay out of sight. Wave groans in disgust "Do you ever bathe?". Jet pushed her "If you don't like it, then just get your own blind spot" "How about I give you one!". They started fighting but they then heard a growl. The Burst was now facing them, it shoots a fireball making them run. Omega shook his head "I'm not considered responsible if your idiocy kills you". Silver stopped in front of him "Hey. How would you sneak up on a Laser?" "No one's ever met one and lived to tell the tale. Now, get in there!" "I know, I know, but hypothetically". Silver backed away and saw Blaze and Shard hiding behind a wall "Get down" Blaze whispered. She looked out and saw the Burst approaching. When it looks away, she and Shard roll across to the other wall. Silver tries but stops halfway and is spotted by the Burst. Blaze jumps out ready with her axe, but Shard pushes her out of the way "Watch out. I'll take care of this". He throws a mace but misses. Blaze glares at him and he shrugs "The sun was in my eyes, Blaze". They both ran from the Burst "What do you want me to do, block the sun? I could do that, but I don't have time!". It chases Blaze knocking down the walls. She jumps over the walls and then falls towards a distracted Silver. She falls on and gets her axe stuck in the shield. Jet and Wave laugh "Ooh! Love on the battlefield" "She could do better". Silver looked uncomfortable; Blaze saw the Burst approaching. She stood up raising the axe which still had the shield stuck. She whacked the wisp with the shield axe launching it right into the wall knocking it out "Take notes!" Omega yelled down. Blaze turned and glared at Silver "Is this some kind of a joke to you? Our parents' war is about to become ours. Figure out which side you're on".
