Outside heavily damaged ships return to dock. Shadow steps off with a blank face. Omega follows him "Were you able to find the nest?" "Not even close. I hope you had more success than me". Omega nodded "If by success, you mean your weak attachment to emotion will now be more bearable then, yes". Before Shadow could ask what he meant a group of happy villagers ran over to him "Congratulations, Shadow! Everyone is so relived!" "Out with the old and in with the new, right?" "No one will miss that old nuisance. We're throwing a party to celebrate" they headed to the bar. Shadow looked to Omega worried "He's gone?" "Yes. Usually after training. I've concluded he doesn't like the attention he's been getting. He's been swarmed by fanatics for days". Shadow grabbed Omega's arm "Silver?". Omega nodded "He has an impressive talent for fighting wisps, for an organic", Shadow's eyes widen.
Meanwhile Silver was flying through the sky over the sea. His arms were at his side keeping his flight fairly steady "Okay, there, bud. We're gonna take this nice and slow". He glances at a piece of paper taped to the top part of his left arm. It showed different hand and feet positions to control his flight direction "Here we go. Position… three… no, four". He held out his left hand and the palm away from him. He slowly turned right. Silver grinned as they headed towards large rock cliffs "Alright, it's go time. It's go time". He put his arm back at his sides and turned the bottom part of his feet upwards. He dived down and glided over the surface of the water "Come on, buddy! Come on, buddy!". They flew under a massive rock arch "Yes, it worked!". They headed through more rock towers and Silver hit one "Sorry!" he tried to steer but hit another "My fault! My fault". Silver's right-hand moves on its own and hits him over the head "Yeah. Yeah, I'm on it. Position four. Uh, three". He pointed his feet and hands down shooting him up towards the clouds "Yeah! Go, baby. Yes!". He started laughing "Oh, this is amazing. The wind in my- CHEAT SHEET!". The notes fell off his arm and he quickly grabbed it. He caught it but hit his regulator forcing Cyzer to jump out of his body. They both begin to fall, Cyzer tries to fly but keeps releasing bursts of energy. Silver flails helplessly "No! Oh, Gaia. Oh, no! Alright, okay, you've gotta angle yourself. Come back towards me". He was hit by one of the bursts "OW!". He reaches out and Cyzer is able to absorb through Silver's hand. Silver turns up the regulator and sees him heading straight for a forest. He holds out both his hands and he swoops up over the forest, he could feel Cyzer's fear. He looked at the cheat sheet but couldn't read it because of the wind. He sees that he's heading towards more rock cliffs. He throws the sheet away and on instinct dodges the cliffs effortlessly flying through until making it out the other end. Silver gets a massive grin "YEAH!". His hands then moved on their own and fired a blast of energy ahead. Silver frowns as they head towards it "Oh, come on".
Back in the cove Silver was sitting down with his face covered in ash. Cyzer sat next to him and spat up a fish head. Silver shook his head "Uh… No, thanks. I'm good". Silver cooked another fish over a fire when they suddenly heard noises. A group of White Boost wisps flew towards them. Cyzer got between them and his fish. One grabbed the fish head and started fighting with another. Another Boost tried to steal a fish from the pile, but Cyzer bit it and took it off him. The Boost got an angry expression and took a challenging stance. Cyzer then casually shot a laser at the feet of the wisp making it run away. Silver smirked "Huh. Not so tough against each other, are you? Here you go". He threw the Boost a fish which it happily ate. The Boost then flew over to Silver and leaned against him sleeping. A surprised Silver petted his head "Everything we know about you guys is wrong".
Later Silver was in the workshop leaning against a desk flicking a pencil. He hears footsteps and turns to see Shadow entering the room. Silver jumps up "Dad! You're back!". He quickly hides his notes and plans involving Cyzer "Uh, Omega's not here so…" "I know. I came looking for you" "You-you did?". Shadow glared at him "You've been keeping secrets" "I-I have?" "Just how long did you think you could hide it?". Silver stood up straight "Uh… I, I don't know what you're talking about" "Nothing happens on this island without me hearing about it". He steps closer "So, let's talk about the wisps". Silver sighed "Oh, Gaia. Dad, I'm sorry. I- I was going to tell you. I just didn't know how to…". Shadow suddenly started laughing, Silver joined in not fully understanding "You're not upset?". Shadow grinned "What!? I was hoping for this!" "Uh, you were?" "And believe me, it only gets better! Just wait till you spill a Cube's guts for the first time! And mount your first Rocket head on your wall. Or shoot a Lightening in the face. What a feeling!". He laughed "You really had me going there, son! All those years of the worst warrior Onyx has ever seen. Gaia, it was rough. I almost gave up on you. And all the while you were holding out on me! Oh, Solaris Almighty!".
He sat down "With you doing so well in the ring we finally have something to talk about". He smiled leaning forward waiting for Silver to say something. Silver glanced away trying to think of something to say. Shadow scooted closer but his smile slowly faded. He leaned back "Uh, Omega told me you were wearing bracelets" "Uh, yeah. I just thought they looked good". Shadow reached for something behind him "Here, I, uh, I brought you something… For good luck in the ring". He took out a small white bandage. Silver took it smirking "Wow. Thanks. What is it?" "It's your mother's. She used to wear them around her dreads". Shadow removed his left inhibitor ring revealing another bandage underneath wrapped around his wrist "It keeps her close, you know. You deserve it. She'd be proud of you" Shadow glanced away not looking like he was entirely truthful about that. Silver smirked and Shadow nodded to him "You've held up your end of the deal". Silver nodded "Uh, right". He yawned "I should really get to bed". Shadow awkwardly nodded and stood up "Yes, good. Okay, good talk" "I'll see you back at the house. Thanks for stopping by and for the bandage". Shadow slowly walked back "I hope you like it. Well, uh… Yep. Good night". Shadow walks into another part of the workshop and lets out a breath. He walks out but accidently knocks over a rack of weapons.
The next day a crowd was watching the group take on a Drill in the arena. Silver was hiding behind a wooden cover and now had the bandage wrapped under his right bracelet. Blaze sat next to him; she grabs his arm "Stay out of my way! I'm winning this thing" "Please, by all means". Silver glances up and realises Shadow was watching. Blaze leaped to a different cover keeping hidden as she got closer to the Drill "This time this time for sure!". She ran out axe ready only to find Silver standing over the unconscious drill. The crowd started cheering as Blaze angrily swung her axe around "No! You son of a half-troll, rat-eating, munge-bucket!". Shadow raised his hands "Wait! Wait". Silver tried to walk away "So, later" Omega then lifted him up and forced him to stay. Silver nervously chuckled "Uh, I'm kind of late for-" "What?". An axe blade was suddenly at his throat being held by a crazed looking Blaze "Late for what, exactly?". Shadow walked over to an elderly chipmunk "Okay, quite down! The elder has decided". Omega holds his hand over Blaze, the elder shakes her head. Omega then holds his hand over Silver and the elder nods. Blaze slowly turns her head glaring at him. Omega lifts him up "You've done it. You get to kill the wisp." he said not really sounding into it. Shard and the other suddenly lifted him up in celebration, "That's my boy!" Shadow yelled down. Silver had an anxious grin "Yeah. Yes. I can't wait. I am so…".
"Leaving! We're leaving" Silver said head lowered as he walked through the cove "Let's pack up. Looks like you and me are taking a little vacation. Forever". He puts down a bag he was carrying only to find Blaze sitting on a rock sharpening an axe "Ah! What the… Uh, what're you doing here?" "I want to know what's going on". She hops down from the rock "No one just gets as good as you do. Especially you. Start talking! Are you training with someone?". Silver backed away "Training? Look, I know this looks really bad, but you see". They hear a twig snap; Blaze turns to it. Silver gets in her way "You're right. You're right. You're right. I'm through with the lies. I have been making bracelets. So, you got me. It's time everyone knew. Drag me back, go ahead". He takes her hand, but she twists it "Ow! Why would you do that?". He fell to the ground and Blaze stared down at him "That's for the lies. And that's…". She hits the hilt of the axe on his stomach "For everything else". There was a burst sound "Oh, man". Silver gets to his feet, but Blaze then spots Cyzer "Get down!" she pushes him back to the ground as Cyzer charges. Blaze gets ready with her axe, but Silver grabs it form her and gets between her and the wisp. He turns to Cyzer and throws the axe aside "No! It's okay! It's okay. She's a friend". He turns to a confused Blaze "You scared him" "I scared him… Who is him?". Silver pushed Cyzer back "Blaze, Cyzer. Cyzer, Blaze". Blaze shakes her head and runs away, Silver sighs "We're dead". Cyzer hovers away "Whoa, whoa! Where do you think you're going?".
