Marry Me? Chapter 2
Loren's caught off-guard. "You, you love me?"
He holds her closer. "Why are you surprised? We've been dating close to 3 years, of course I love you."
"I love you too." Loren admits.
Eddie gently lays Loren on the grass and they kiss, his cell phone goes off. "Hi Jake, right now? I'll see you in 30 minutes."
Loren sits up. "Is everything ok?"
"Jake needs me to sign some papers; I'll see you when I get back."
Loren smiles. "Ok, be safe."
He gets up and leaves, Loren sits for a while taking in his words, he loves her, and the kiss, she gets up and walks back to the cottage, she runs into Mel.
"I knew you were back here."
"Hi Mel!" She's smiling from ear to ear.
"Why are you so happy, is Eddie here?"
Loren can't contain her excitement. "He told me he loves me."
"I saw that coming a while ago, he has this special way of looking at you, I knew it."
She hugs Mel. "What about his aunt?"
"I know; she won't be happy; I can already hear her." Loren says.
"Let Eddie handle her, he will put her in her place." Mel assures her.
The wind picks up. "I know Mel, this whole thing scares me, it all seems too good to be true." She pulls her hair behind her ears.
"Come on, I'll make you my famous chocolate shakes, that always cheers you up, plus it looks like it's going to rain.
Loren smiles. "I love your chocolate shakes."
Meanwhile, Jake tells Eddie he's going to perform, he booked several places where he can hold a few concerts, it's going to be in the surrounding suburbs of L.A. and he'll eventually head to other cities in California.
Loren continues to go to school, and Eddie always makes time to see her, they always meet behind the cottage, it's a large private area, no one can see them, especially aunt Lorie, Loren feels better about that. Deep down Lorie scares her.
Eddie heads back first, then Loren, this time his aunt is waiting by the cottage. "Why are you back there with Eddie?"
She scares Loren who jumps at the sound of her voice. "I went for a walk Mrs. Lorie."
"I just saw Eddie coming from that direction; I thought I told you to stay away from him?"
"He's my friend, what's wrong with that? Excuse me."
Before Loren can move towards the door, Lorie grabs her arm. "You and your mom would have been out of here a long time ago, trash should be put out on the streets." She yells at Loren.
"Let go of me, you're hurting my arm."
"Stay away from my nephew, he belongs with classy people!"
Nora opens the door. "Let go of my daughter you witch; how dare you talk to her that way?"
She throws Loren into Nora's arms. "I'll tell you too, tell her to stay away from Eddie."
Loren sobs, Nora brings her inside and Lorie stomps away, she's furious.
"Are you ok?"
"Why does she hate us so much?" Loren's crying.
"Because she's evil and a terrible person, I don't understand how she was related to Katy."
Loren runs to her room and jumps on her bed, and cries.
Loren doesn't tell Eddie what his aunt did to her, she continues to go to school and her part time job, Eddie starts to perform in the surrounding areas, he's so busy, Loren doesn't see him as often.
Lorie makes it her mission to keep them apart, she hires someone to have the area behind the cottage under surveillance, she doesn't want Loren nowhere near Eddie, Loren notices what she's doing and that worries her. Where will they meet? Their special place is being watched by Lorie.
When Eddie's done with his nearby concerts, he's home and looks for Loren, she's afraid his aunt will catch them.
They met in another area away from the cottage, Loren runs towards Eddie when she sees him walking her way.
"You're back! How was it?" He hugs his girl and places a kiss on her lips.
"It's been great; the new songs are a huge hit."
"I knew it, you're amazing, you're as talented as your parents."
"Let's go for our walk, I have so much to tell you."
"Your aunt will see us; I don't think it's a good idea."
"Don't worry about her." He holds her hand.
"She threatened me; she knows we were behind the cottage."
"I'll have to talk to her babe, let's enjoy our walk; she's not home right now."
"I don't know Eddie." She stops.
Eddie brings Loren closer to him. "Don't be afraid, I'm here, I'll always be here for you, I promise Loren."
"She's not happy with any of this, she looks at me with a lot of hatred, no matter what I do, she yells at me."
"I'll take care of her, I'm 21 now, she can't tell me what to do, whom I can date."
He leans in to kiss her. "I've missed you."
"I miss you too." She leans in, and they kiss.
They spent a few hours together, and Eddie heads back inside.
He walks into the kitchen to make a sandwich, Lorie walks in. "You're back from your gig?"
Eddie takes a bite of his sandwich and looks at his aunt. "Yes, it went well."
"Don't tell me you were with that girl again?"
"Aunt Lorie, it's none of your business who I see or whom I date."
"I have to make sure you don't attract gold diggers, you're going to inherit this mansion and your parent's money, it'll be soon because you're turning 22, everything will be yours, do you know what that means?"
"Yes I do; what does that have to do with Loren?"
"I don't trust her; you have to be careful with her kind." She points at him.
He rolls his eyes. "Now you know who wants my money and who loves me?"
"I want you to be careful, that girl and her mom are trash, I don't know how your parents allowed them to live in the property, this area is for classy people, not trash."
"Stop referring to Loren as trash!" He glares at her.
"Your girl? Eddie are you insane?" she walks closer to him.
"I'm in love, and I'm not going to stop this relationship because you don't approve, I plan to marry Loren! Get use to the idea!"
"Do you realize you're throwing your life away?"
"I will inherit everything very soon; get your things together because I don't want you here anymore."
Lorie starts to cry. "I've been here for you, now you're throwing me out?"
"Yes, when I marry Loren this will be our home, start packing Aunt Lorie, in a few weeks I will own everything, I don't need you here anymore."
"How could you disgrace the family name this way?"
"Mom loved Nora and Loren, she'd be proud of me for standing up to you."
Lorie grabs her keys and leaves the room. Eddie is furious; he heads to his room.
The following morning Eddie heads to the cottage. He knocks on the door; Nora opens the door. "Is everything alright?"
"Can I come in?"
"Yes of course." She lets him in.
He walks in, Loren's having breakfast, when she sees him she gets up and walks towards him. "Eddie what's wrong?"
"I had a fight with my aunt last night, I told her to leave."
"You can't do that! She's your aunt." Loren adds.
"Yes I can, she's trying to tell me what to do with my life, who I can see or who I can love, that's going to stop right now."
He turns towards Nora. "I'm very serious with what I'm about to ask you."
Nora's concerned; Eddie seems very determined. "What is it?"
He looks at Nora. "I love Loren very much, she's my life." He looks at Loren. "Will you marry me?"
