Chapter one

As the sun started to rise, Xavier-Mason came home from a long night of fight a pack that needed help with their leadership; tired and hungry he came in quietly. Xavier-Mason just got to the stairs when the Gryffindor princess herself came down the stairs and almost ran Xavier-Mason over.

'Oh! Good morning, Fred! How was your night?' asked Hermione as she side step to avoid running him over.

'Mmm, my night was good, how was your night love?' He asked back with a small smile.

'Oh, it was wonderful, thank you Fred!' Hermione said as she walked past him into the kitchen.

As he watched her walk into the kitchen, the smiled; taking in a breath of her sent. The sweet smell filled his lungs, making him want to bury himself in it. Hermione always smelt like a soft mixture of roses and vanilla. Xavier-Mason shook his head, then walked upstairs to have a shower. Once showered he went to have some breakfast.

'Morning bud.' Aurther said when he saw him walk in.

'Morning dad.' X-M greeted his dad.

'Morning baby.' Molly greeted him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Xavier-Mason sat down with his brothers and sister to enjoy breakfast. As Molly got breakfast on the table, all the kids starting to talk about the quidditch game that was going to be played after breakfast.

'So, Harry and George will be team captions.' said Ginny around a bite of toast.

'OK!' everyone agreed at once.

All the kids quickly ate breakfast, then got changed and grabbed their gear; then ran outside to the field to start their game. Hermione grabbed her books and a pillow and a blanket, then followed them outside to find a tree to sit under; to read and watch the others play.

Xavier-Mason dropped down beside Hermione and put his head down on her lap, as she opened her book. She looked down at him but he already had his eyes closed, she smiled softly and shook her head. They sat like that for hours, X-M slept while Hermione read. She continually ran her fingers through his hair, softly turning the pages as she read. After many quidditch games, the kids finally started tired, then headed inside to eat dinner.

'Hermione! Fred! Come on, we're heading in to eat!' Ginny shouted.

'I got my 10-course meal right here...' Xavier-Mason murmured, burying his head between Hermione's legs.

'FRED!' Hermione laughed, softly pushing him away.

'Yes, Luna?' Xavier-Mason asked with a fire deep in his deep ocean eyes, as they changed to a hazel.

Hermione froze at the way Xavier-Mason way staring at her, ready to devour her at any sudden move. Her heart rate froze with the rest of her, air vanished from her lungs, while a fire ignited deep inside her. She almost felt like he was a part of her in that moment, mind, body and soul; as one. She watched him change from Fred Weasley, to Alpha Whiteout; she just doesn't know it yet.

As Alpha Whiteout observers her, taking her in as a hunter would its prey; he wonders if she would run or stay-

'FRED! HERMIONE!' George shouted.

'What?' X-M replied.

'Dinner! Come on, I'm starving!' Ron shouted.

'We're coming!' Hermione called back

As Hermione got up to follow, she looked back at Xavier-Mason. Staring back into blue eyes, she shook her head to try to clear the fog that is stubbornly staying. She met up with Ginny, who giggled at her. Hermione just shook her head again, not wanting to think about it. As she looked back one last time before she was out of sight, she was shocked to see that one eye was blue and the other was hazel. She knew that there was two different people looking at her in that moment, and she wanted to know who the other person was.

'So, Freddie?' George asked with a mischievous smile on her face.

'Yes?' Xavier-Mason asked not looking at him.

'What are you looking at?' George asked, with a laugh.

'The moon.' X-M replied back, then headed to the house.

As everyone got inside and went to have a shower before dinner, X-M went to help in the kitchen. Everyone slowly filed in and sat down at the table, the only spot left was to George's right; beside Hermione. Dinner passed slowly with chatter of the day and the highlights of the days quidditch games.

'Hey Fred? Why were you sitting with Hermione instead of playing with us?' Ron asked rudely.

'I was on the moon.' X-M said simply.

'The moon? What does that mean?' Bill, the oldest Weasley; asked confused.

'It means I was on they the moon. What is confusing about that?' X-M asked back.

Hermione giggled, 'Here I thought it was a 10-course meal?' she countered back.

'It's the gravitational pull of the moon, love.' X-M winked smartly back, with a smirk.

Hermione blushed, 'Is that why you called me Luna?' she asked him, curiously.

Molly and Aurther both chocked on their dinner, 'WHAT?!' they both exclaimed. Both knowing that if Xavier-Mason called Hermione Luna, then she was his mate.

'No, I didn't call you Luna..' Xavier-Mason said slowly, confused.

'Yes, you did, when your eyes when from deep blue to hazel.' Hermione said back, curious now.

Hermione being Luna means a lot to Xavier-Mason but he can't let her be right now, she's too young. Though being incredibly smart, X-M doesn't want to chain her down with the stress of his life. Xaiver-Mason has many enemies, if any were to find out about her; she would be in grave danger. On top of dealing with The Dark Lord trying to kill her and the boys at every turn, the last thing she needs is to have wolves ready to kill her. His job as Alpha and her mate is to protect her, to make sure no one hurts a hair on her head. She is to stand with him, bear his pups; and help him rule his pack. She's not ready, not yet anyway.

'What?' Aurther whispered softly.

'Nothing, don't worry.' Xavier-Mason said back, wanting to drop the conversation.

'But-' Hermione started to say.

'Drop it. It was nothing.' Xavier-Mason said sharply back.

'Fine.' Hermione pouted.

After dinner, Xavier-Mason had to go to work; owning and running the world's best animal clinic; Weasley Sancturary. Xavier-Mason was gone before Molly and Aurther had a chance to ask him what Hermione was talking about, so they had to wait for him to get back. Xavier-Mason was known to be gone for weeks at a time.

'Luna?' Molly asked Aurther softly.

'I don't know love, I don't know.' Aurther replied back.

'How long do you think he has known?' Molly asked.

'Since he met her.' Aurther said.

'How do you know? Molly asked curiously.

'I knew.' Aurther said staring straight into her soul, 'I knew the moment I met you, you were my mate.' he said with love in his eyes.

'I love you.' Molly said lovingly.

'I love you more.' Aurther said and kissed Molly deeply.

'What do we do?' Molly asked softly.

'We wait. However long we need to.' Aurther said with a sigh.

As the night came, the moon rose high in the sky. Xavier-Mason looked at it from his office, as if sensing Hermione staring up at the moon as well; he howled, low and slow. The wolves in his pack howling with him, but this howl was just for Hermione. As she listened to the howls, she smiled and whispered to the moon.

'I love you Fred, more then you ever know.' then she laid down in her bed and fell asleep.

'I love you Hermione, one day I'll tell you; one day you will be mine.' Xavier-mason whispered up to the moon.
