Weiss couldn't believe it. Blake played sports? This was the first she had heard of it. Her friend Ruby insisted she go to the hockey game with her because she wanted to watch her girlfriend play. Weiss asked Neptune to come, but he had "better things to do." What Weiss saw shocked the hell out of her; Blake was a beast on the ice. She didn't even know Blake was athletic.

After the game Blake had been following her post-game routine. She was excited that her team had won and that she scored another goal that night, which happened to be the game winner. The hockey player celebrated briefly with her team before gathering up her equipment and putting it in her bag. She always hung around after everyone left the locker room so she could shower with no one around. She looked around the locker room, and once everyone was gone she got her extra clothes and went in the shower.

Weiss wanted to wait for Blake. The cheerleader watched as some players were starting to leave. She looked around trying to find Blake, but had no luck. She hummed to herself as she decided to head into the locker room to see if the older girl was still inside. Hearing the shower running, she assumed it was Blake. Weiss leaned against one of the lockers and waited, pulling out her phone to pass the time.

Blake finished with her shower and dried off before quickly grabbing her sweat pants and pulling them on. She didn't bother with the extra clothes to hide her secret because no one was around and she was going straight home. Weiss smiled softly when she heard the shower turn off. Her hand came up and played with the loose necklace dangling from her neck while she waited. She pulled out her phone and sent her friend a text.

Weiss: My mom called. I have to drive Blake home. Ugh... Go ahead and catch a ride with Penn. I'll see you later.

Ruby: Aight, Wei. See you tomorrow.

The texts Weiss sent were a blatant lie, but Ruby didn't have to know. She looked at Ruby's response and put her phone back into her purse as she heard Blake coming closer.

Thinking she was alone, Blake quickly threw on her sports bra and started to dry her hair as she walked around the corner. "Holy crap." The hockey player said, jumping slightly at the sight of Weiss. Her jersey and boxers fell out of her hand and onto the ground as her towel went flying toward her bag. "Weiss?" She asked, putting on her glasses. "What are you doing here?"

Blake blushed and bent down to pick up the clothes she had dropped. She pushed her glasses up her nose as she stood up and walked over to her locker. Weiss saw the blush and the little twitch of her ears and smiled softly. She bent down and helped Blake pick up her jersey, holding it out for the girl.

The younger girl laughed at Blake's reaction and completely avoided the question. "Why so jumpy, MVP?" She stood up straight. She hadn't ever seen Blake this exposed before. She seemed... Well, her body was toned. She looked hot with no shirt on.

Weiss shook her head, trying to rid her mind of the impure thoughts she was having about her neighbor. She said the only thing she could think of to create some sort of conversation, knowing that Blake struggled with communication, "I didn't know you played. Did you just join the team?" Hockey wasn't exactly popular in their school, especially women's hockey.

Blake quickly pulled her sweatshirt from her locker and threw it on, feeling uncomfortable being so exposed to the younger girl. As Weiss spoke she tossed her sweaty clothes in her hockey bag before zipping it up. "Oh, uh. Yeah. I do play. I've been playing since freshman year." She reached into her locker to grab her backpack, glancing down at Weiss.

The girl was absolutely stunning… she was shocked that the girl would even show up to her game. "You came to the game? Why?" Blake asked a little bluntly as she grabbed her bags and walked out of the locker room.

"Well... I didn't have anything else to do on a Friday night, and Ruby's girlfriend plays on the team, so I decided to come to the game with her." She smiled as she followed Blake out of the locker room. "I might start coming more often now. You know, school spirit and all that. Might even bring my pom poms next time," she teased the older girl.

Blake looked over at Weiss like she was crazy, "You really don't have anything better to be doing right now?" She asked in disbelief. She sighed as she turned to look at the other girl, hoping this wasn't some crazy set up to make her look stupid.

Weiss shook her head. "Not a damn thing, actually. I didn't feel like partying today. I'm tired of it, to be honest." She looked over at Blake and shrugged before turning the subject back to the older girl. "I was shocked to see you out on the ice, wearing the captain's patch no less. What else do I not know about you?" The cheerleader couldn't help but feel a little guilty as she spoke. It was her fault that she and Blake were not as close as they were in elementary school.

Blake shrugged, "A lot I guess." She said as she shifted so her bag was higher on her shoulder and continued walking through the parking lot.

The cheerleader followed Blake as she maneuvered her way through the cars. The older girl wasn't saying much, per usual. She was sure it threw Blake off that she had showed up in the locker room. She couldn't help but smile as she watched Blake head past her car, moving toward the sidewalk. "I know that you didn't drive here since you don't have a car yet... So I figured I could give you a ride home."

The hockey player stopped walking and looked at Weiss again, shaking her head, "It's fine. I usually just walk home. Or take the bus." She said as she turned to make her way closer to the sidewalk, "I'll be okay. It's good exercise." Blake said, not wanting to burden Weiss or fall into some trap.

Weiss walked over to her car and leaned against it. She knew that Blake was shy, but she had no idea the girl was this stubborn. She unlocked her car and got in, rolling the window down. She drove alongside Blake in the parking lot. She could see her discomfort by her ears flattening to her scalp. She leaned her head out the window to talk to the girl, "Get in the car, I'm going to drive you home. And to celebrate your win, we're ordering pizza and watching movies in my room." She wasn't sure why but she wanted to spend time with the faunus.

Blake stopped walking as Weiss drove alongside her and told get in the car. She didn't know why, but being around the other girl made her extremely nervous. She had been crushing on her younger neighbor for a long time, but she wasn't ready to admit to herself, or Weiss, that she wanted more than a friendship with the cheerleader. They had known each other for what seems like forever… and that news would for sure scare Weiss into never talking to her again.

Letting her pride go, Blake walked toward Weiss' trunk, "Can you pop it? I need to put my bag in." Blake said. Weiss did as the athlete asked and popped the trunk for her. The older girl opened the trunk and put her hockey bag and sticks in the trunk before carefully closing it and getting in the passenger side. She set her backpack at her feet before putting on her seatbelt and speaking to the young cheerleader, "I… shouldn't eat pizza." She was trying to watch what she ate to stay in shape during the season.

Once Blake was buckled in, Weiss drove off toward their neighborhood. She rolled her eyes at Blake's response to her idea. "Yeah, neither should I. I'm a cheerleader, remember? We all deserve to splurge every once and a while. Come on, we'll get some low fat pizza." she joked.

The older girl sighed as Weiss spoke, "Okay. That's fine." She said as the girl drove down the street. She pulled out her phone to text her parents and let them know that Weiss was taking her home. "There isn't such a thing," She pointed out to the girl.

Weiss looked at the girl next to her for a moment before turning her eyes back to the road, "I was joking, you know?" She sighed, feeling the effects of the awkwardness radiating throughout the small space. Blake was feeling a little uncomfortable. This was the closest she had physically been to Weiss since middle school. On top of that, Blake wasn't wearing her compression shorts to hide herself, and there was no denying that she was physically attracted to the smaller girl. Her compression shorts were like a safety blanket for her and without them… she felt naked. She had never noticed how good Weiss smelled before now, the girl's perfume left a sweet smell that lingered in the car.

"You don't like me, do you?" Weiss asked softly, breaking the silence as she turned the radio down. "Every time we have those dinners you get quiet and try to avoid me."

"What?" Blake asked, not realizing she zoned out. Blake pushed her glasses up her nose and looked over at Weiss. "I, um, no it's not that," she said. "I'm just used to being alone, I guess. I'm not used to carrying on conversations with people, so I don't really know what to talk about." She said honestly.

Weiss frowned at the older girl's response. Maybe the reason why Blake was avoiding her was because she turned into a bitch at school. She did feel kind of bad leaving Blake behind once high school started. "We used to be really good friends... I guess I fucked all that up, didn't I?" She pursed her lips together and turned a corner. "We used to do everything together." She put her left arm up on the door and leaned her head against it as she drove. She couldn't stop the guilt that was nagging at her mind.

Blake looked at Weiss as she spoke. She was kind of thankful that the girl couldn't look away from the road. The hockey player shook her head, "You didn't do anything wrong." She said softly, "We just um… we grew up and grew apart, I guess. Developed different interests and stuff." Blake said. Yeah, it sucked to lose her childhood best friend, but that was life. Weiss was destined to be popular… and she was destined to be a nobody.

"We can skip out on the pizza... We'll do it some other time, I guess." The younger girl didn't want to make Blake any more uncomfortable than she already was. Weiss wanted to have dinner with Blake but she didn't want to force her to do anything. It's not like having pizza with her and showing up to her game would make up for the last three years of ditching someone she once considered a really good friend.

"If that's what you want. I never said I didn't want to." Blake said quietly. She didn't know why Weiss always assumed things just because Blake was quiet.

As they drove Weiss couldn't stop the guilt from eating away at her. She found a place to pull over and turned off the car. She had something she wanted to say to the older girl, and she needed to get this out before she lost the chance at being alone with her.

"Why'd you stop the car?" Blake asked, looking around. "I can walk the rest of the way if you want." She said as she started to take off her seatbelt. She became sad a bit because Weiss probably stopped so others won't see them together. Walking is just fine with her.

The younger girl reached over and put her hand on Blake's arm, stopping the girl from going anywhere. Weiss quickly removed her hand from Blake's arm and took a deep breath before beginning to ramble to the faunus, "You know, I never told anyone about you... about your, um, secret. I had every opportunity to, but I didn't. People ignore you because I told them to. I told them that if they fucked with you, they'd be fucking with me… so people thought it was best that they just didn't say anything to you at all."

Blake listened intently as the smaller girl talked. "Why would you do that?" She asked. That certainly explained why no one talked to her outside of her hockey team. Even the girls on the team didn't say much to her outside of practice, games, or team dinners.

"I did it because I heard some of our classmates talking. They were going to throw you into the dumpster outside of the locker room our freshman year. I told them that if they fucked with you, I'd ruin them. So they just ignored you instead..." Her voice was soft. "I'm sorry." Weiss said, trying to hide the emotion in her voice. She felt like a horrible person. Blake deserved better than what she was getting.

Blake leaned back in the seat. She already felt exposed and Weiss was starting to talk about things that made her feel even more upset. It was Weiss' fault that she really didn't have any friends at all. Sure, the girl stopped people from bullying her, but it also made her an outcast where no one would want to talk to her at all. At the news, the hockey player became even quieter if that was possible. "Why would they want to do that? They didn't even know me." She said.

Weiss was thankful that it was dark out so Blake couldn't see the tears welling up in her eyes, totally forgetting that she could see in the dark. But at this point, Blake was in her own mind. "They were just looking for someone to target. We were in high school. We were freshmen. They wanted to seem 'cool'." She sniffled quietly. "There are days where I think that I shouldn't have gone to that summer camp for cheerleading... If I didn't, maybe things would be different for you. But there are other days where I'm glad I did because I'm where I wanted to be. But... I'm not the person I wanted to be." She said. Weiss hoped that the older girl could make sense of what she was saying, even though none of it really made sense to her.

The raven-haired girl sighed as she looked out of the window. She wasn't sure what Weiss was trying to do right now, but it was kind of making Blake more uncomfortable than she was before. "I suppose that's one way to become cool." She mumbled. Blake took a moment to think about what else to say. Weiss wasn't the person that she wanted to be, but to Blake the girl seemed fine with the life she was leading. The hockey player broke the silence, "It's a decision that you made… and it worked for you. I'm happy that you're in a good position and are where you want to be, but, um," she paused, "I don't know what more you want me to say."

Weiss shook her head. She turned the car back on and just drove. "Then don't say anything," she said back. She just had to get it out.

The faunus was thankful when Weiss started to drive again. "Why are you doing this?" She asked just above a whisper. Her and Weiss hadn't ever had a real conversation about anything serious… ever. Blake didn't know what to do. "Why are you acting like this?" She asked… it seemed like it came out of nowhere for the older girl.

Weiss swallowed thickly and shook her head. "I don't know why..." She whispered. "Just forget I said anything." She pulled into their neighborhood. Maybe Weiss was the reason Blake was so closed off and such a loner. Blake glanced over at Weiss as the girl spoke again. She swallowed thickly as she stayed silent the remainder of the ride.

The cheerleader parked her car in the driveway once they reached her house. "You had a good game, Bo..." The childhood nickname just rolled off of her tongue like it was the most normal thing in the world. "If you still want that pizza, I'm ordering it when I get settled..." but she really doubted that the girl would want to. Not after the clusterfuck that she created on the ride home. "Also, if you ever need a ride, just let me know, I guess. You know my number."

Blake was thankful that they had finally gotten to Weiss' house. "Thanks." She said softly as she unbuckled her seatbelt. Blake sat there for a moment, "I have finished my homework for tomorrow," she said softly. She didn't want Weiss to think she was completely closed off, but she also didn't want to expose herself to the potential hurt that may come from being close to Weiss again. The hockey player sighed before speaking again, "I guess I could come by afterward." She said as she unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door.

The older girl put her backpack on and walked over to the trunk to gather her hockey bag and sticks. Blake shut the trunk and looked at Weiss. "Thanks for the ride. I'll see you in a little bit." She said as she walked across the lawn to her house.

Weiss nodded. She didn't say anything. She was worried that if she opened her mouth, more nonsense would come out. She grabbed her purse and held it tightly in her left hand, locking the door behind her. "Okay... See you later." she whispered. She walked into the house, thankful her parents went out to dinner. She took off her shoes and curled up on the couch. She'd call for food in a bit... for right now, all she wanted to do was catch up on some friends. That would make her feel better.
