Chapter 5: The First Legend and Beyond

As the sun came up me and my team left Goldenrod City on my BMX style motorcycle. When I got to the Sudowoodo on Route 36 Tank quickly took it out with a mirror shot and we continued on our way without waiting for anything else. After a pair of double battles on Route 37 I made it to Ecruteak City and met Bill at the Pokémon Center where he told me who he was and said that I should go and watch the dancer girls. As I went to see the dancers after getting my team treated for their injuries, I was attacked by another swarm of Zubat that were beat easily and I went in to see a Team Rocket grunt causing trouble, so I challenged them to a battle. It was pathetically quick as I switched Sonic out for Liberty to take a tackle from his level 16 Koffing before using extrasensory to end the battle. I followed that up by finally teaching an HM to one of my Pokémon, HM 06 Rock Smash, which Boxer happily learned. I then went to the Burned Tower to try and find the gym leader.

Once in the burned tower I saw the gym leader and another man but did not talk to them as Tsubaki came and challenged me to a Pokémon battle. Since I was trying to train up Sonic he had been in the lead when Tsubaki sent out a level 28 Swablu, so I switched him out for Tank who fell asleep to Swablu's singing. I used an awakening on Tank who was pecked by Swablu. After that Tank set up his three layers of spikes while ignoring Swablu singing as it released a layer of mist then pecked him. Tank then used his mirror shot before finally falling back asleep to the singing of Swablu. While Tank slept, he was pecked by the Swablu before he woke up and used payback to knock out the Swablu. With that done Tsubaki sent out his starter the level 30 Marstomp who seemed to dive through the ground and pop back up to hit Tank in the back the whole fight as Tank used various attacks to hurt the president pest the whole fight. After Tank finally took down Marshtomp Tsubaki sent out a level 28 Espeon who used wish to setup a healing later while I used a super potion on Tank. While Espeon attempted to setup another wish Tank took it out with a bug bite. After that Tsubaki sent out his final Pokémon a level 26 Chansey. Tank started off with a mirror shot only for Chansey to return with a seismic toss. After that Tank took the pink blob out with a simple bug bite. With his loss Tsubaki left in a huff as I went and spoke to the people in the tower before I went down and saw the statues of the legendary dogs before they broke apart and left before another swarm of Zubat attacked me again.

When I left the tower, I was more than a little shocked as I made my way to the Pokémon center allowing Sonic to deal with the persistent swarm of Zubat coming after me. In the morning I took my team south for a little training. As I got my whole team up to level 33, I had a run in that was unexpected but proved that my purchasing of the three master balls was so worth it as Entei in all its level 40 glory came out of the grass and I wasted no time in throwing one of my master balls at it and decided to not give him a nickname. I continued to train and fight off the swarms of Zubat that I encountered once my team was around level 36, I went to deal with Morty. As I walked the shadowy paths of the gym, I felt the loss of Blaze, but Entei made a better member since it is stronger and matches Blaze in type. The first opponent did not give her name but she carried five pokeballs so I knew this would not be a cake walk but would still be fun.

The medium led off with a level 26 Gastly that Sonic quickly dispatched with a bite. She followed that up with another level 26 Gastly that got off a sucker punch before she was bitten by sonic fainting. That pattern repeated for Gastly number three and four with the final one not even using sucker punch before falling to Sonic's bite. The next medium studying under Morty was polite enough to introduce herself as Grace before she sent out a level 29 Haunter. Sonic quickly took it out with a bite before she sent out another Haunter that was level 26. The new Haunter gave Sonic a sucker punch before being bitten and fainting to end the battle. That fight was followed up by medium Edith challenging me who only had one Pokémon a level 29 Haunter. The Haunter started off with a sucker punch before Sonic could bite him, although the haunter survived which was a first since entering the gym. I ordered Sonic to leech Haunter's life, but the ghost Pokémon got off a sucker punch first and still lived on. Before Sonic could end the fight with a wing attack Haunter got off a final sucker punch that was actually a critical hit. I took the time to heal Sonic with potions and used an either that refilled his bite power points. I was soon approached by the final understudy another medium named Martha who carried three pokeballs. She led off with a level 24 Haunter that used sucker punch before being knocked out by Sonic's bite. The next Haunter was level 25 and had the same result to their confrontation. Her final Pokémon was also a level 25 Haunter who gave out a sucker punch before being bitten by Sonic and ending the battle leaving the way clear for me to challenge the gym leader.

When I approached Morty he was polite enough and had four Pokémon for me to fight. He led off with a level 34 Mismagius who out sped Sonic and used a shadow ball before the bat's first bite landed. Mismagius then used a mean lock to keep Sonic from being switched out as Sonic bit it forcing Mismagius to feint. Morty sent out a level 33 Haunter after that who feinted to its own curse after Sonic bit into it. After that Morty sent out his ace a level 37 Gengar that out sped Sonic and used a shadow ball to knock him out. I frowned as I sent Tank out into the battle. Gengar used mean lock to prevent Tank from escaping only for Tank to use payback to weaken the stronger Pokémon. As Gengar ate a sitrus berry he missed with his hypnosis and was knocked out by a second payback that allowed Tank to level up to level 35. Morty reluctantly sent out his final Pokémon a level 35 Driftblim who used gust to start off with before Tank retaliated with a payback. Morty started to panic and used a hyper potion on Driftblim before Tank could finish it with another payback. This process was repeated before Driftblim used stockpile only to feint from the payback that Tank used. Morty kindly gave me the Fog Badge along with TM 30 that contained shadow ball.

After beating Morty I went and returned to the Pokémon Center and continued to fend off the swarms of Zubat that continued to attack me everywhere I went. After a good night's rest, I got on my bike before heading off to the west as that would lead me to the next gym. Traveling on routes 38 and 39 were of no issue as I blew by the Miltank farm without stopping as I turned south to head towards Olivine City. Once there I checked in at the local Pokémon Center after another Zubat swarm attack. In the morning I went to the gym only to find out that the gym leader was not there but at the lighthouse taking care of the Ampharos that worked as the guide beacon for the port. With my team I quickly scaled the lighthouse and talked to Jasmine. After that I taught Drax the HM for Surf and set off for Tanba City to collect the medicine that Jasmine stated was needed for healing of Ampharos.

While traveling I made certain to train my team with a major focus on Drax as I needed him to evolve to solve my quick travel problems with the access to the fly HM. I made certain that once I was able to fly back, I would be able to do that with impunity. As we traveled through the waves I watched out for and battled all of the trainers that we came across. Once I made it to Tanba City I went north to see what was there only for the world to crash and everything to go fuzzy.

[My apologies but it seems that the world you were inserted into was less than finished and it did not react well to your void form so you will need to start over with your entrance to the world.]

I started cursing up a storm as I saw this as total crap since I had spent a full month trying to make it through this world.

Author's Endnote: This really did happen in the game so I am starting a different game to run through the world of Pokémon.
