[System Text]
"Talking"
Restarting The Chain
I can honestly say I was not shy in my cursing up of a storm as I vented out my disgust at all of my work being for nothing and that I needed to restart my time in the Pokémon world. I eventually calmed down enough to read the new text screen before me.
[Due to your progress being lost because of a system error you will need to recreate your starting setup but your world will be Radical Red 2.3a an advanced adventure through the Kanto region where even though you are a Drop-in you will still take the place of the main character. You shall also receive more contact with the system and nine hundred free rare candies at the start of your adventure as a replacement of the normal potion in your personal PC storage. You will also receive an extra nine hundred Pokeball but no money upon reaching Viridian City.]
With all of that set I was ready for my classic choice of whom to pick between the three classic Pokémon of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. As I pondered that I saw another pop up appear before me.
[Extra Challenge: If you manage to complete this you get to take all of your Pokémon with you. You must only use one type of Pokémon for your entire time going through this world.]
That pop up gave me pause as I was not sure about who to pick now. I did not want Charmander as he was always a hard start to the Kanto region. Between Squirtle and Bulbasaur I am not sure which to pick. With Bulbasaur I can go two ways as it has two types from the start with grass and poison while Squirtle with its water type gave me access to more Pokémon mainly the gift Pokémon including the Lapras that was in Silph Co. With that in mind I finally picked the one I desired and advanced to the next section of Perks.
I could not help but curse as I watched the list of perks appear once again because this would mean I would need to start from scratch. This was not something that I wanted. Since Pokeglot was not of much use to me I was going to avoid that one altogether. The first thing I picked up was survival training so that I would not have to worry about living in the wilds. After that I picked up Mechanic so that I would be able to repair the motorcycle I planned on picking up from the items section. I followed that up with Savant to keep myself in good mental health for this jump. My final choice for a perk was the last one on the list in Champ in the Making to keep my team balanced.
[Survival Training: You gain an innate knowledge of survival skills. You can survive just about anywhere.
Mechanic: You become much more adept with a toolbox. You can fix or improve most machines.
Savant: Your mind is enhanced, granting you perfect memory, calculator like mental math, and better spatial awareness. Your aim with a firearm is better than Annie Oakley and Simo Hayha combined.
Champ in the Making: You just might have what it takes to catch em all! You're an expert at training both teams and individuals, managing team dynamics, and working out social issues between teammates both Pokémon and human. You can make teamwork work.]
With that thousand points down I had five hundred left and moved onto my gear to quickly pick up my motorcycle as a start. I followed that up with a Laptop so that I would have access to the internet here and in all future worlds that I go to. I decided to save the remaining three hundred points to use on my bag customization.
[Motorcycle: Not collapsible, but has infinite fuel. Fast transport method.
Laptop: Can access the Pokémon world's internet. Includes 4chan equivalent, /VP/ only. Solar powered, has top tier parts.]
With all of that I went and advanced to the attached supplement. I decided to start with a very different bag type in using up the three hundred points that were left over from the main jump to have a large Hammerspace since it will be safe on its own that way.
[In the original Pokémon CYOA you get a bag, with no description other than that it's "Bigger on the Inside". This optional supplement allows you to specify exactly what your bag's appearance and capabilities are. You can take this supplement even if you haven't taken the Pokémon Jump though. As per usual, you get 1000 CP. Yes you can divide this across multiple bags. The features you purchase only affect one though.
Bag Type: Do keep in mind that the size of the bag's opening restricts the size of objects that you can fit inside of it. All options appear full, but feel weightless when worn.
Hammerspace Large: Same thing, but with a backpack sized opening.]
With that done I had a cool thousand and moved onto the attributes that I can add to the bag. The only two attributes that I took were garbage disposal and cleaning. Leaving me six hundred points for the next section.
[Attributes: Add some Functionality to your Inventory.
Garbage Disposal: Teleports your unwanted trash to the proper facilities.
Cleaning: Put dirty Items into the bag and wait for a day. They will come out clean.]
I quickly went into the additions section and picked up the wallet first thing so that my money will be safe. I added a campfire, mess kit, and hygiene kit so that I could camp out safely and prepare my meals with ease. I followed those up with the tent and bedroll along with all of its additions to finish off all of my points and make it so that I would not need to worry about finding a place to sleep each night.
[Wallet: Comes with infinite space, but only for money and identification.
Campfire Kit: Enough Tender, Kindling, and Firewood, as well as a lighting implement to start a campfire wherever you want.
Mess Kit: Includes, pots and pans, and a plate, cup, and silverware for four people, perfect for campfire cooking.
Hygiene Kit: Self Cleaning toothbrush, razor with shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Folding Tent and Bedroll: For the Jumper who enjoys the wilderness, Tent Can be Customized using the bag Appearance Section.
Tent Upgrade (requires Tent and Bedroll) - Weather Resistant: Stays warm In snowy weather, and cool in the hot sun, waterproof, and wind resistant.
Tent Upgrade (requires Tent and Bedroll) - Yurt: A larger round tent with Room for a fire, and some furnishing. Comes with up to three extra beds.]
With my bag set up I advanced into the world quest and was not too surprised by what I saw.
[Quest: Become the champion of the Pokémon League
Bonus 1: Only use Pokémon of one type for the Elite Four and Champion battles.
Bonus 2: Only use one type of Pokémon for your entire time in this world.
Reward: Advance to the next world with your current team.
Bonus 1: You earn an extra five hundred points to spend at the start of your next jump.
Bonus 2: You may take all of the Pokémon of the type that you have with you and in your PC for free into each of the worlds you travel to.]
As I was pulled through the void towards my new life I was busy planning on how I would make progress through this painful process once again as I set down onto the ground of Pallet Town.
Author's Endnote: I am going to start this out just like I did with my last story and this will be a retelling of my play through of the Fire Red rom hack Radical Red 2.3a by Yuuiii
