I promise to love you Chapter 18
Loren looks at her mom and turns towards Cam and to her surprise it's… "Eddie?"
He's standing there in a black tuxedo, looking more handsome than ever, he can't stop smiling, his eyes on his beautiful bride.
He approaches her. "Surprised? Will you marry me?"
Loren's tries to make sense of this. "Wait, what?"
Mel steps in. "Girlfriend, it's Eddie."
Nora can't stop smiling, she wants to cry, she places Loren's hand on top of Eddie's, he cups her face with his hand
"I want to love you for the rest of my life, wake up every morning with you by my side. Knowing that no matter what happens, I'll come home to your loving arms, I want to share everything with you, make you laugh, grow old with you, if you'll have me, I promise to love you for the rest of my life, Loren, will marry me, I promise this will happen right here, right now."
Loren is trying not to cry, her eyes on Eddie, the worries, the anxiety she felt is gone, she squeezes his hand, and smiles. "Yes Eddie, I will marry you, right here, right now, I love you."
He holds her hand and kisses it. "We're ready."
Alex runs towards his dad and Loren. "You're going to marry my daddy?"
She looks at him. "Yes I am." He stands by their side holding Loren's hand.
Within a few minutes, they're pronounced Husband and wife. Eddie holds Loren by her waist and pulls her towards him; he looks deep into her eyes and kisses her softly. "I love you Loren."
"I love you too." She wraps her arms around his neck and they kiss, nothing matters in that moment, she belongs to Eddie, their kiss is long and passionate, neither of them wanting to end the kiss.
Nora can't stop crying, Linda hugs her. Mel closes her eyes; she's happy Cam understood, he gave Loren true happiness, she deserves it.
The hugs and the congratulations begin. Some of the guests are confused, everyone applauds, the party begins.
"Did you know about this?" Loren asks.
He smiles. "Yes, Cam came to see me and left this morning for London. He said he's going to find his own Loren."
"I feel bad for him, I never meant to hurt him, I was going to try and make him happy."
Eddie pulls Loren closer. "I know that wasn't going to happen, you and I were meant to be, I was going to leave today, couldn't handle the thought of you with someone else."
He leans in to kiss her, he can't help himself, he can't get enough of his new bride.
After several congratulations and pictures; Eddie looks at Loren, he kisses her again.
"When can we leave?" He asks with a smirk.
Loren blushes. "We have to be here a while, after all, it's our wedding."
"You don't know how long I've waited to hold you, to show you how much I love you." He whispers in her ear.
She wraps her arms around his neck. "I've waited for you; I couldn't be with anyone else."
He looks into her eyes. "I love you Loren, love it when you tease."
"I'm serious, not teasing you, and you? You went and married someone else."
"Forget that, Chloe never meant anything to me, I thought I could try and be happy, I was only fooling myself, the only good thing about our marriage is my son Alex."
"I love him like my own." She hangs from his neck.
Eddie can't stop smiling, nothing can upset him, she's his forever. They dance, neither of them taking their eyes off each other.
Linda walks towards Nora. "Did you know this was going to happen?"
"No, I had no idea, neither did Loren, before our walk down the aisle I thought she was going to pass out, she was never ready to marry Cam."
"What happened?"
"I don't know, Cam left, and gave Loren her happiness."
"He did an amazing thing for our beautiful couple, look how happy they look."
"I know, Loren was hurting, she loves Eddie, look at them, they haven't let go of each other since they were pronounced husband and wife."
"I don't think Eddie will ever let go, this is all he's ever wanted, I'm so happy for them."
"I'm happy for my daughter too, she deserves this and so much more."
Linda smiles. "I know, and Alex is very happy too."
"Where are they going for their honeymoon?" Nora wonders.
Linda smiles. "I don't know, it's you and I taking care of Alex, you gained a grandson Nora."
"I don't mind, he's a beautiful little boy who will be very happy with Loren, he has a mommy again."
Dinner is served, Eddie holds Loren's hand. "I need my hand to eat."
"That's fine, don't walk away." He teases.
Loren laughs. "I'm not moving from this spot."
"You're never leaving my side."
Loren's blushing. "Where are we going tonight, we didn't plan a honeymoon?"
"Any place will be fine with me, I really can't leave, I told Jake I need this week for you, he asked me to stick around, we can stay in the bungalow my parents own by the beach."
"Is it far?" She wonders.
"No, it's an hour away, it's very private, we use to go there as kids, do you remember?"
It's close to 11, Eddie talks to his aunt. "I know this is last minute."
"Don't even mention it, Nora and I will take care of Alex, go and enjoy your week with your wife."
"Thank you, you've done so much for me and Alex."
"I'm doing everything your mom would have done, go and be happy."
Eddie talks to Alex. "I'm going to be away for a few days with Loren, Aunt Linda and Nora will take care of you."
Alex yawns. "You need to go away with Loren? I can't come?"
Eddie tries not to laugh. "No, next time, right now its Loren and I, I hope you understand."
"I think, I understand, I'll come to see you and Loren tomorrow." Eddie smiles. "We'll see son."
Mel brings Loren her pink luggage. "This is your bag; I put a little something in there for you."
Loren tries not to blush. "Omg Mel, you're too much."
"Enjoy your time with Eddie, are you happy?"
"Yes, of course I am, I don't know how Cam figured things out, no wonder he called this morning wanting me to be happy."
"Oh wait, I think Cam left this letter for you, I thought it was from Eddie."
She opens it.
"Loren, by the time you read this, you'll be Eddie's wife, I'm sorry it took me this long to realize who you belong with. I spoke to Eddie, I know he loves you as much as you love him, I hope you don't mind, I'm writing this instead of facing you, I couldn't do it in person Loren, I love you, I think I always will. Please be happy, I'll try and find my Loren somewhere in London. I'll always be here for you. Love, Cam"
Loren looks at Mel. "It's a sweet letter; I owe him my happiness."
Mel hugs her best friend. "Yes you do, now go, here comes Eddie, I can see he's anxious to start your honeymoon."
Mel turns towards Eddie with a smirk on her face. "You ready?"
"If my bride is ready, I'm ready too." He looks at Loren.
She smiles. "I'm ready." She leans in to kiss him.
Before she can say anything else, Eddie scoops her off her feet and carries her to his car.
"I'm still wearing my wedding dress." Loren tells him, trying to hold her dress.
"I'm not letting you go; everything is set, let's go Mrs. Duran."
He puts her down with enough time to get into the car, he places their bags in the trunk and they're off.
Mel can't stop smiling, she's happy, Loren doesn't know she spoke to Cam, he didn't mention it in his letter, it's better this way, she did her part, she's pleased, Loren waited too long to be happy, this is what she deserves.
"Why don't you spend the night?" Linda asks.
"I don't have any of my things."
"We'll figure it out, you can drive back home in the morning."
"Good idea." Mel says.
"Good, let me get Alex."
It's close to 1 a.m. Loren and Eddie arrive at the beach bungalow. The night sky is filled with bright stars, Loren can hear the waves of the water crashing against the shoreline.
"It's very beautiful here."
"We loved playing in the beach when we were kids, today you're my bride."
"Your parents always treated me like family, I miss them."
"We can spend the morning out here if you'd like, I want to spend every minute of my day with you."
Loren leans in to kiss him. "I love you."
"You're going to have to keep telling me you love me, I missed you so much Babe."
He carries her into the bungalow. Loren takes her bag to the upstairs bathroom, Eddie takes the one in the main level.
By the time she's out, Eddie's playing soft music in the background some candles are lit. Loren's wearing the beautiful Teddy her bestie gave her.
Eddie can't move at the sight of his beautiful bride. "You look very beautiful tonight; I can't believe you're mine."
"I'm yours forever Eddie, you look very handsome too."
"I don't think you understand how I'm feeling right now, I thought I'd lost you, I don't know what our future holds, but I know that I'll be by your side forever, I love you, I promise to make it all up to you."
"I know Eddie; I love you too."
He carries her ever so gently and he places her on the bed. He looks into her eyes and caresses her hair and the lining of her face. "I want to look at you."
"I love you Eddie."
He leans in to kiss her, that night will be very special and unforgettable for both Loren and Eddie, it's way overdue. Lights off!
