Our Family Chapter 25

Several officers run inside, they find Eddie holding his aunt's hand, she tried to fire the gun, Alex's sudden entrance into the room startled her, Eddie's quick reaction stopped her from doing any harm. Alex runs towards Loren, and hugs her. "Mommy!"

Loren cries, this ordeal had her on pins and needles. She hugs Alex back.
"I'm so happy to see you Alex."

He smiles. "Where's Isabella?"

"She'll be here soon."

The Police take Lorie away; she screams for her nephew. "Eddie! they're taking me away, don't leave me."

He runs to Loren's side and kisses her forehead. "Babe, I'm so sorry."

"I'm ok, we're ok." He wipes the tears rolling down her cheeks with his thumb; the paramedic's check Loren's vitals, they help her get onto the gurney. Linda and Nora walk into the house crying. "Loren, thank God, you're ok."

Both women hug her, she's taken to the waiting ambulance.

"I'm fine mom." Eddie follows her into the ambulance with Nora, Linda, Mel and Alex trailing behind in their car.

When Loren arrives, Dr. Mitchell is waiting, she's wheeled into a room where she's checked. "Loren you're almost ready."

Eddie holds her hand. "I'm so sorry you went through that, I knew my Aunt wasn't well, never imagined she'd do this."

"It's ok; we're all safe, I'm glad she's going to get the help she needs."

"I had to play along with her; I was afraid she'd hurt you or the baby."

"She kept saying she was her grandma."

"I know babe, she thought I was her son, apparently she was in love with my dad, when he married my mom, she never recovered from that."

"I'm so sorry."

Loren feels another contraction. She closes her eyes, and breaths through the contraction.

"I'm so proud of you." Eddie sits by her side and holds her hand.

Mel sits quietly. Nora walks towards her; she can tell she's upset. "Thank you for being with Loren."

Mel finally releases the tears she's holding back. "Nora, that woman scared me, I had to hide it from Loren, I thought she was going to hurt her, she kept teasing with her stupid gun."

"I know, she hit the security officer outside of the house, how she got so close to him unnoticed, I'll never know."

Nora hugs Mel. "It's ok, cry and let it out; Loren is safe and having her baby."

"I think she went into labor because of this, she wasn't due for another week."

"The important thing is that she's safe." Nora tells her.

The Dr. checks Loren and she's ready to deliver. With instructions from the Dr. She finally delivers her daughter. Eddie's eyes tear when he hears his beautiful daughter's first cry, she's beautiful.

The nurse weighs her and wraps her, she walks towards Loren and Eddie. He holds his beautiful daughter and kisses his wife. "You were amazing, she's very beautiful."

Two hours later, Alex is looking at his new baby sister. Nora and Linda are ecstatic with the newest Duran baby, Mel is happy baby Isabella is finally here.

"She's prefect, I think she's going to have your wavy hair."

Alex keeps talking to her. "Isabella, I'm Alex, I'm 5 years old, I know a lot of thing, I'm going to teach you."

Loren smiles, Alex is proud, he keeps talking to the baby. She turns towards Eddie. "He's going to be the perfect big brother."

Mel notices her phone buzzing. "Everyone knows Eddie has a daughter, it's all over the news, unfortunately your Aunt Lorie made the news too."

"I'm not worried about her, Jake will know what to tell them, I don't want to talk to the reporters, they'll ask about today's incident."

"Don't worry Eddie, we won't respond to their questions either." Nora assures him.

A few days later, Loren is home with Isabella, she's a beautiful baby, she lets mommy get enough rest at night. Alex is a great helper too. He can't stand to hear her cry and when she does, he's right there by her side, he sings to her and she loves it, it's very soothing to Isabella when Alex talks to her, he loves his baby sister.

Eddie can't stop smiling either, he thought he'd ever be happy after he lost his parents, he's a happy dad, married to the woman he has loved all of his life, she makes him so happy, he his own family, he misses his parents, he knows they'd love Alex and Isabella, his career is on top, a beautiful, his life is complete, he can't ask for anything else, this is all he needs.

Linda stops by to drop off gifts delivered to Jake's office.

"There's a trunk full of gifts for Isabella, got a call from the Dr. seeing Lorie, the medication seems to be helping her, he'll let us know how about her progress every week."

"I hope she recovers; she deserves to be happy."

Loren is holding Isabella. "Hi Linda, what brings you here?"

"Guess again, Jake asked me to pick up the gifts that have been delivered for your daughter at his office."

"We will donate those; she has everything she needs."

Linda laughs. "You can never have enough teddy bears."

"That's for sure." Loren hands the baby to Linda.

"Omg Loren, she's beautiful, she has daddy's brown eyes."

Loren can't help but agree. "I think so; I think she's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen."

Nora walks in and agrees with Loren. "The future Miss America for sure."

Linda laughs and acknowledges Nora. "Listen to the proud grandma."

"Can you imagine the day Bella brings her first boyfriend home to meet Daddy."

Eddie looks at his aunt who's laughing. "Don't even go there, I don't want to think of that yet."

"Enjoy your daughter, time flies, I remember you in diapers, now look at you, Rock star, husband and daddy."

"I know, I don't want to think about that right now, can I enjoy my daughter as a baby?"

Loren wraps her arms around him from behind. "I agree with Eddie, I don't want to talk about that either, I want to enjoy my two babies right now."

Several weeks later, Jake stops by to see Eddie.

"Eduardo, the press wants a family portrait, the label thinks it's a good idea to promote your next album with you and your family in it."

"Why?"

"Think about it, girls can't swoon over you anymore, the sales of your albums will consist of you getting families to notice your music, you're a married man, we have to head that way businesswise."

"I guess you're right, Isabella will be 6 weeks old in a few days, Loren should be ready for pictures, let me talk to her about it."

"I knew I'd be able to convince you to see things my way Eduardo."

"As long as you don't take me away from my family, I'll be alright."

Jake picks up his bag. "Talk to Loren, pick a date, let me know, we need to make arrangements."

"Sounds like a plan!"

Within a few days, a photographer takes several pictures of Eddie and Loren with their children.

Eddie's album will be released soon, this time he's a family man. Pictures of his family will be included inside his latest Album.

Loren continues give Alex his lessons; he's at the kindergarten level. Lolita hands her a large envelope.

"Thank you Lolita."

"I thought I heard the doorbell."

Loren opens the envelope. "It's a special delivery from Europe."

"Who's it from?" Eddie wonders.

Loren smiles. "It's from Cam, he's getting married."

"Really? Happy for him, he said he'd find his Loren, guess he did."

Loren hands Eddie the invitation. "Looks like he found a winner."

"I'm the winner in that department. I married the most beautiful woman in the world."

"In your eyes I'll always be the most beautiful woman, plus." She giggles. "I have the hottest hubby in the whole universe."

Eddie brings her closer him. "I love you."

"I love you too." Loren blushes.

He laughs. "Are you still blushing around me Mrs. Duran?"

"Doesn't matter how long we're together, you'll always make me blush, it's that look you give me, you will always give me goose bumps."

"I think that's sexy."

Loren leans in and kisses him; he holds her tighter allowing their kiss to deepen, he pulls away trying to catch his breathe. "We need alone time Mrs. Duran."

Loren smiles and bites her lower lip. "Stop looking at me like that, I'm blushing again."

"I'm not letting go of you, we need to have fun again."

Loren looks at him with so much love. "I made arrangements for mom to come and stay with Alex and Isabella, you and I are going away Mr. Duran."

"I love the sound of that."

He kisses her again. Nora walks in. "Okay you two, keep that up and we're going to have another Duran in 9 months."

Loren pulls away laughing. "Mom! We haven't had time for each other."

"I'm here now, you two get going."

Eddie looks at his beautiful wife. "We're packed and ready to go?"

"I've been packed and ready to go since this morning." She smirks.

They kiss Alex and Isabella good-bye. "Are you and mommy going away again?"

Eddie smiles. "Yes, for a few days, grandma Nora will be here with you, help her with Isabella."

"Next time, Isabella and I want to come and have fun."

Eddie laughs. "I'm sure you can." He looks at Loren and winks at her.

"We'll be back Sunday night, Mom."

"Don't have too much fun." She teases.

Eddie walks towards his beautiful wife and holds her hand. "See ya soon Nora."

The driver waits outside by the Escalade. Loren and Eddie get inside, the driver takes off.

Eddie sits with Loren in the back. "Thank you for planning such a romantic getaway."

"Be ready for many more of these." Loren says.

"I love the idea; I love you Loren."

She cups his face. "I love you more."

"That's a promise you can count on Mrs. Duran."

He holds her gently and kisses his beautiful wife. Loren knows their promise to each other will never be broken. She's secure in Eddie's arms their future, this time it's forever.
