Wings of Fire: The New Prophecy

Seven dragonets all from different tribes in Pyrrhia are brought together by chance and misfortune. With a deep desire to end the war and armed with powers long thought lost, these dragonets set out to find the Dragonets of Destiny, however, when a new prophecy that involves both them and the Dragonets of Destiny, ending the war became much more complicated.

Chapter 15

Skywing Palace

It was odd seeing the prisoner towers from the view of a prisoner, Inferno thought as a stared moodily at his chains. He had not thought about the prisoners very much, it was easier that way. Looking around he saw Slipstream two towers below him, and Crane three prisoners to the left of him, he could not see Frostbite or Nightshade, so he guessed that the Icewing and Nightwing were somewhere above him. Sandstar and Oleander were taken somewhere in the palace when they first arrived. To be turned into a pretty decoration for Queen Scarlet and Princess Burn. Inferno did not even bother looking for the Dragonets of Destiny, after all the prophecy was fake.

He saw Queen Scarlet's champion, Peril, fly by some meat in her talons but Inferno could not bring himself to care very much about anything. He was going to die one way or another, no matter what.

The day when mostly as he expected, dragons fought and Peril killed, he did, however, get to see Oleander and the other Rainwing as Queen Scarlet displayed them on a silver tree. That night he saw Peril fly by him again with more food. This repeated itself the next day as well. But on the third day, Queen Scarlet had the Mudwing Dragonet of Destiny, Clay, fight an Icewing named Fjord, Clay used Skywing fighting tactics and somehow managed to kill Fjord by melding his face and the blue Seawing almost managed to pull him and a few other dragons of their towers. The fourth day was more interesting as the adult Skywing that he had seen when he had been captured was put on trial with him for treason. He learned that the adult Skywing that he had seen the day they got captured was Peril's mother, Kestrel, and then Peril invoked the Champion's Shield. His trial also happened after Kestrels, as he expected, he was sentenced to fight in the arena until death. That night however was strange, one of the dragonets somehow played The Dragonets are Come and caused the whole arena to sing even Inferno.

The following day was, well, Inferno did not know how to describe it.
