Chapter 2
I don't think we have been formally introduced. I'm Ava, Yuri's adopted sister. Anyway, I woke up at 11:59 pm in our tiny ass apartment in my even tinier room to find Yuri missing. This wouldn't bother me if she had to work because she often works late, but she didn't have work today. So with that being said, panic mode kicked into overdrive. I am very protective of my sister considering what we have been through since we were six and the fact that she is insane and likes to take risks that she doesn't need to. Mokuba walks in and tells me everything and protective mode kicks in and overrides panic mode. I follow him to where Pegasus is holding her and find her lying unconscious and in a coma on the floor of a tiny concrete cell. I mean I know that he can be evil, but come on a tiny concrete cell? Really? Is he heartless? What is up with him lately? He is not himself at all. He is normally a better host even to his prisoners. I wonder if he captured the good part of his own soul and banished it to the shadow realm. I mean this is way to evil, even for him.
Wait I know that she told you what happened, but I didn't. There are two sides to every story. I was watching tv one day when Yuri walked in and starts telling me about this guy named Seto Kaiba. What, she didn't tell you this? Well, I didn't approve of him at first and told her that I thought that he was bad news. Well, he persisted and finally proved to me that he was worthy to date my sister. Although he was kind of stalkerish following her home and everything.
So with that said, let me tell you about our life went when she moved in with us. I was an only child up until my momma and papa decided to bring home a little girl named Yuri. I had always wanted a sister and when she moved in, I immediately accepted her as a sister. Ever since then, I have been extremely protective of her. She is my sister after all.
Both of our parents were neglectful and basically abandoned us and left us to fend for ourselves in our own home. So, one day my parents come up to me and said that Yuri and I are going to an elite boarding school in Japan. But, Instead of paying room and board, they get us a tiny-ass apartment just barely big enough for two people to live in. So, when we started our fourth semester there, we had a few new classes and couldn't find them. We asked around but got more lost than we already were. We ended up in a park area of the school where we find a boy bruised and bloody.
I pull Yuri over there to see what is wrong because I am the more caring between the two of us and it took him a bit of time to tell us what was wrong and who the man was that was following us. He told us that it was his grandfather and he was here to pick him up, but he didn't want to go home just yet. He used Yuri's hair to hide from him. At first, I thought that he was a bad dude, but nope He is actually really cool and runs a game shop in our town not too far away from our apartment. But here is the interesting part. He knew about the orphanage that Yuri and I were at for most of our lives. Not only did he know about it, but he had a twin sister that got sent there as a baby.
Well, I got pretty excited and accidentally screamed into Yuri's ear. Which she proceeded to scold me for. She does have sensitive ears, which I had forgotten about momentarily. So, Yuri asked the boy whose name was Yugi Muto to show us where the orphanage was. While we were walking I got a really bad case of deja vu. You know, the feeling that you have been there before. We turn a corner and there is the orphanage that we spent most of our lives at. Yuri went in shock as one of the sisters came up to talk to her. Could it be? Could Yuri and Yugi be twins? We had to be sure so, we went to the doctor to get a blood test done, with his consent of course. The results came in and it didn't only show that they were not only brother and sister, but twins. This time all of us go into shock. Well, once his grandpa heard about this he took us in at once and adopted us and we became Mutos.
There is only one part that Yuri didn't tell you about. A little detail that I don't even think Grandpa knows about and that is that I am the cousin of Maximillion Pegasus. Yuri knows because she had a case against him that she had to go to family court for. I mean Grandpa is good at keeping secrets and all, but he is not that good at keeping them from me. If he did know, then, he doesn't want me to know that he knows or he doesn't care.
It helps that Yuri can't talk about any of the cases. It helps keep the secret a bit longer. I can't keep it forever and I know that I just don't want him to have another heart attack that is all.
