Work is killing my creativity, but it is here. I also went over the other chapters and did some editing.
I don't own any character from My Hero Academia, they belong to Kōhei Horikoshi. But Grim and Dev are mine.
Later that day, Midoriya and Bakugo were back at Ground Beta for their extra training. Grim and Dev was already waiting for them.
"Glad you could join us and not ditch us and go for a make-out session behind the school instead", by looking at Midoriya I could see that I hit the nail on the head with that comment. He started to get red almost immediately; Bakugo was hardly faced by it.
"So first thing first, you two will be partnered up for the rest of the year. Each practice, each training session, and even in the science project.
"What the fuck! No way in hell will I ever partner up with this useless nerd" Bakugo points at Midoriya "I'm way better on my own"
He gets interrupted in his rant by Grim laughing and laughing hard. "Hahahahhahahahah." Dev looks unfazed by his partner outburst; it looked like this wasn't new to him at all.
"Oh, Blondie you sounded like me when Dev and I were forced to partner up all those years ago" Grim holds around her stomach from laughing so hard and long. Dev holds out a bottle of water for her so that she can hydrate and catch her breath.
"Excuse me Ms. Grim, but what do you mean?" Midoriya looks confused about the whole situation.
"Sorry Shortstack, you may not believe me and Dev was like you guys too. We couldn't stand each other when we first meet." She hands Dev the bottle back. "But a few weeks after we started U.A. Boss and Doc forced us together so we could figure out how to cooperate and work together. And I'm not gonna lie, we had our epic fights here and there. But in the end, we were at each other side by every injury, bad and good days."
"She was the most annoying brat I had ever met" Dev weighed into the conversation.
"And you were the biggest asshole I had ever met." Grim countered back.
"How did you two end up as you did? Your relationship appears to extend beyond just being partners. But that may just be my observations and taken from what you have told us"
"What the hell Deku! Don't compare us to them! Like fucking hell I end up being together with a useless nerd like you!"
Midoriya continues with his mumbling and loud thinking while Bakugo goes on with his rant. I give Dev a look and we walk over to their sides and push their heads together lips first. "That should quiet it some"
We continued to hold their heads together until their instincts kicks in and they really start kissing each other.
Midoriya closes his eyes and enjoys Bakugo's lips on his own, moving them against each other like a slow dance. He gives Bakugo's upper lip a gentle lick. Bakugo looked a bit surprised by the actions but catches fast on and welcomes Midoriya's tongue in.
Bakugo places his hands on the shorter boy's hips and drags him closer, so he can deepen the kiss and take over their tongue play. Midoriya drags his hands up the blonde's arms and locks his hands behind his head. "Mmmm…"
Grim and Dev have removed their hands at this point and left the boys to their own devices. "Let's give them a few min to think" Grim's evil smirk was back as she told Dev her plan.
Bakugo and Midoriya were in their little world at the moment, and from the sound of it, they were enjoying it. Midoriya ends the kiss for half a second to catch his breath, this did not deter the blond and he began kissing the greenette again straightaway.
"So now that you both are a bit calmer we can explain how this will go" Grim's voice wakes them from the moment. The boys took a look at each other and Bakugo jumped away from the other one, "What the hell!?"
"Don't look at me Blondie that was all you two. As I was about to say, you two are gonna have dance lessons. Midoriya you will lead and Bakugo you will play girl and let him lead you"
"Like fuck I will, if anyone is gonna be the girl here it should be Deku."
"There is a point to this, Shortstack here needs to learn how to lead others and take charge. You already know this, and don't need any more ego boosts. So with this, we will kill two birds with one stone as they say. "
A stereo shows up out of thin air, "Now Midoriya if you can take your partner's right hand and place it on your shoulder, and place your own at his hip." Midoriya grabs the blonde's hand and places it on his right shoulder, he then places his hand on Bakugo's hip pushing them closer.
"Next take his left hand and lace your fingers together and hold them out on your side in a relaxed position." Midoriya does as he is told; he has still not dared to look at Bakugo's face.
"Good, now the steps. First, you step forward with your left foot, and you want to move your body in the direction of your left foot. Then you move your right foot sideways to the right." Midoriya moves his left foot, while the tall blond rolls his eyes.
"Next bring your left foot next to your right one so that they are nearly touching." Midoriya moves his feet closer to each other and waits for the next step. "Nice, now step back with your right foot and then sideways with your left foot."
"And now move your right leg over to your left and you repeat it all until the end of the song. And you Blondie will follow." He just gives me his 'like the hell I will' look. I answered with my 'do it or you will regret it' look.
"Unless you got an ace up your sleeve Brat, there is no point in going up against someone way stronger than you." Dev in his wisdom, "Besides I have tried arguing with her, and there is no point, either way, you will lose. Just be happy your partner doesn't have a fucking fire quirk." He looks over to Grim with a stern look. He only got a sweet smile back, one he couldn't resist.
A slow waltz can be heard from the stereo and grim starts swaying to the rhythm. She hears an "ahem" and a hand silently asking for hers. She smiles at the gesture and takes the hand. They copy the young ones, only closer and start to dance. They are so light on their feet it looks like there are floating around on the field.
"Fuck Deku, stop crushing my toes!"
After a few songs it looked like Midoriya was getting the hang of the dance, he still had his tongue out in consecration but he wasn't stepping on Bakugo's toes as often.
"I believe Dev owes you two a story, from what I heard." Grim looked up at Dev for clarification. "It was about lying and losing someone important wasn't it?"
"Yeah, I did say something around those lines babe." Dev kissed Grim's head before sitting down on the ground with her in his lap. "Sit down kids and get comfy."
As Dev started his story both Midoriya and Bakugo set down on the ground in front of the pair listening intent to the story.
"As much as I hate to admit it I was a lot like you Blondie, I still am. Had a Big ego and was proud of it. I was the best at everything I touched before coming to U.A and meeting Grim and the rest of our former class." He hugs Grim for a second and took a glance at the boys to see if they were listening. You could see Midoriya wanting to take notes; by the way his hands were playing with the grass at his sides.
"We started school and like you, we started with the 'Steal the Bomb' exercise. I complained about being partnered up with someone and by some fucking miracle the teach let me go at it alone, but then my training partner would join the villains. And who was leading the villains," Grim was smiling her sweet smile in his lap "Yeah none other than this blond brat."
"I let my fellow villain's guard the bomb while I was out doing surveillance on our hero." Grim continued with the story, "It wasn't long before I found him creeping around, even when he goes and become one with the shadows. Mostly because he was thinking so damn loud."
"I was fucking not" Dev played offended and squeezed her.
"Either way, I snuck up on him and manage to cuff one of his hands before he noticed and when he did all hell kinda broke loose."
Dev continued after giving Grim a little kiss on her neck, "No way in hell that a short scrawny girl was gonna take me down. So as she tried getting my other hand in the cuff, I grabbed her and turned us around so she was facing the wall and I pressed her into it. And I was letting her know how this was gonna end. But by the time I was down telling our roles were turned around I found myself pressed up into the wall, with the cuffs around both my hands."
"After that exercise, we avoided each other like …" Grim looked like she was trying to find the right word. "We avoided each other like death." Dev helped her.
"Better than nothing, thanks Dev" Grim turned around to his face and gave him a short kiss. "We avoided each other until Doc and Boss came up with the plan to partner us up. We didn't know each other like you to did, like growing up together, but we still knew everything about each other. You see, I can read other people's minds and Dev"
"I know everything about a person by touching them." Dev finished for her.
"Well, that explains some of what has happened this week" Bakugo retorted. "But how can you move so fast around?" Midoriya was way more interested in that.
"You think mind reading is my only quirk?"
"Hell no" "No not anymore"
"Aren't they cute together?" Grim looked over to Dev for a comment. "Yeah, fucking puke worthy."
"But nothing of this has anything to do with lying Ms. Grim"
"We haven't gotten to that part yet Shortstack"
"We did what Boss and Doc wanted, we even had to sign a fucking contract to be at each other's side always. And given the sheer amount of training and exercises, we went through we ended up hanging together all the time. Even outside the classroom."
"And I started to care about this asshole, more than I wanted to admit at least to him. But I dared to tell him and…"
"And I shut her down hard and fast and she ran out crying." Dev gave her a big hug when telling that part of the story, and it looked like Midoriya was close to crying himself. But Bakugo grabbed his hand and squeezed it reassuringly.
"I knew I could just have read his mind, but I respected his privacy. But yeah I was bawling in the girl's bathroom but then I got a call from the Big Boss, he needed me on an important assignment for a week. And I needed the distraction from my heartbreak so I said yes. It was a dangerous mission and I ended up getting badly injured, I spent a week or so in a coma to heal up after Doc helped out." Grim squeezed Dev's hand as she talked.
"I found out by eavesdropping on her friends that she was hurt and it was wild tornado erupted inside. And I ran as fast as I could down to the hospital to see her, to find her heavy bandaged and sleeping in a hospital bed."
"Sounds like you Deku" Bakugo snickers.
"You can laugh all you want Blondie, and count yourself fucking lucky that it was only his arms and legs that were broken. The day you find the one you love in a hospital bed with bloody bandages wrapped around her head and no damn answer for when or even if she wakes up, then you can talk." Dev was getting angry at the obnoxious teen.
Dev let out a deep breath to calm himself down before continuing with the story, "I visited every day after staying at her side talking to her about school, her friends and about all the exercises she was missing. After a week of no damn response from her, I cracked. I told her what I really wanted to tell her when she told me she loved me. And how fucking sorry I was for lying and if she wakes up for me I swore that I would never lie to her again."
"And did she wake up when you said that?" Midoriya was on the edge of knowing the end of the story, even when the evidence was sitting in his lap.
"No, she took her sweet fucking time waking up after I cracked."
"I did not Devil, I woke up after you left my room on the same day. And the first thing I asked for was you."
"Yeah yeah I know Brat. Just teasing you" Dev smirked at the girl in his lap. The pair looked over at the duo and saw them deep in thoughts, still hand in hand.
"So you should tell the person you love before it is too late. You never know which mission could be the last."
"Kacchan?"
Bakugo looked over to the greenette and before Midoriya could get a word out "Deku, you know I'm not good with words and stuff, so it may take some time for me to actually say it to you. But don't doubt what I feel for you because of it." Midoriya was in tears over Bakugo's, in his own way, sweet words. He hugged him and whispered those sweet words "I love you too" into his ears. Bakugo turned a little red and hid himself in the nook of Midoriya's neck, hugging him tighter.
Was it evil to make them dance?
If you guys have read Bonded, a Gauken Alice fanfic i may have borrowed a line from there. But I love that fanfic.
