Chapter 2

(Any character names and backstory similar to other characters are a complete coincidence.)

I woke up to my phone going off. 7 AM, which meant I could get to my parents before noon and have a nice lunch with them. I hopped out of bed, pulled on some black ripped jeans, a white long sleeved shirt, white socks, a red sweater that fell of my left shoulder and held up by a strap, with sleeves that fell right up to my wrists, bandaged up to my fingers from abuse of that manipulative whore. I pulled on my normal combat boots, grabbed my bags, and made my way out. I thanked the woman at the counter, who's name was Jocelynn, and made my way to my car. Sliding the bags into the back seat, with my duffel bag in the front, I plugged my phone into the car radio, and listened to some nice music, singing along to House of Gold by twenty one pilots.

"She asked me son when I grow old,

Will you buy me a House of Gold?

And when your father turns to stone,

Will you take care of me?"

I pulled up to a fast food place and just asked for a simple English muffin and a coffee.

"That'll be 7.58, please pay at the first window."

"Alrighty!"

I pulled up to the window, paid, and waited a few minutes before thanking them for my tiny meal, and pulling out. I munched on my english muffin as I entered the highway.

"To Ebottville!"

After 3 hours and 40 minutes, I finally made it. My coffee had long since been empty, and my muffin long gone, and I was pulling into my parents driveway. I stepped out, leaving my bags in there, and used the key I was given at 16 to open the door.

A horrible stench attacked my nose as I walked in. I frowned. My parents would usually get rid of smells when having visitors, and no one came to the door when I had rung the doorbell, and knocked. I walked through the house calling for them, and walked into the bedroom, before my heart stopped.

Blood stained the sheets my parents had slept in. My mother, Carol, had six bullet holes in her head, and my father, five stab wounds in the chest. I screamed in horror. I fumbled with my phone and my shaking hands could barely press the right number before I managed to call the nearest 911 building.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Help, my parents, they're… they're bleeding…"

"Alright, where are you right now?"

"****, ******ST, west side of town."

"Alright, we're sending help now. Do they have a pulse?"

"I… I can't tell…"

"Can you check their wrist and neck?"

"Y-yeah…"

My hands shook as I attempted, but my panic wouldn't let me focus. I took a deep breath, and felt the tiniest pulse in my father left wrist.

"My mother isn't, but my father's barely there…"

"What are the injuries?"

"My mother has bullet wounds from a glance, and my father has stab wounds."

I could hear sirens by now. They were on their way.

"Alright, they should be there any minute sweetie. What are your parents' names?"

"My mother is Carol and my father is Dave."

"Surname?"

"Apollo."

I heard the door open.

"They're here." I said.

"Alright, you can go check, hang up now sweetie." (Don't actually hang up before you can confirm it is indeed whoever has been summoned.)

I hung up and found I couldn't move, so I leaned against the wall, and began to break down in sobs. Tears pursed down my face as cops and medics made their way into the room. A nice man and a nice woman comforted me and helped me calm down as my parents were loaded onto an ambulance each. I was guided outside, and I sat on the porch bench. The ambulance's drove away, and I drove to a hotel, asking for a week's stay, and if I left before, take the pay anyways. I set cash on the counter, claimed I was going for a walk, and left, taking a black scarf, my black fingerless gloves, some gauze, a water bottle, and a sandwich cut into two triangles, and an apple. It was still pretty early. I walked towards Mt. Ebott, passing trees I used to climb at a younger age. I sat next to one, and ate, drinking half my water bottle, and continuing. I was looking at some birds flying in the sky, when my foot never hit the ground, and my body tumbled into darkness.
