Chapter 3

(Any similarities between name or backstory in oc's is a simple coincidence)

(I do not own Undertale, only own OC's.)

Pain shot through my body as my eyes struggled to open. A bright light filtered into the mainly pitch black cave. I had landed in a patch of yellow flowers. I sat there, and began weaving them into a flower crown. I placed it on my head, and it filled me with something. DETERMINATION, possibly. I continued sitting there, before standing. I began to walk, my knees shaking with every step. I continued walking into what seemed to be a room, where a larger yellow flower sat. It had a white center with a green stem. I sat down in front of it. It seemed to be asleep. I prodded it with my index finger, seeing if it would wake up. It shot up, grumbled, and then smiled at me.

"Howdy! I'm Flowey, Flowey the Flower!"

I smiled, and put my flower crown on top of his head- er, petals. I politely declined it's offer to converse, and then began to walk away, only to be yanked in a black and white field. I stood still, and a smallish, black heart appeared. I moved my hand, and it floated in front of it, following wherever my hand went. Listening to the flower, I had a suspicion that these little white pellets weren't what they seemed. I moved out of the way.

"Hey Buddy, ya missed. Let's try again! Catch as many as possible!"

I avoided them again, scared.

"You know what's going on down here dontcha?!"

My body shook as the pellets surrounded me. I squeezed my eyes shut for the pain…

But it never came. Instead, a tiny yelp erupted from the flower as it was blown to the side. I looked up to see a goat woman run in. She was wearing a light purple robe with a blue patch in the center. She was white, not meaning to be racist. The flower crown had fallen, so I picked it up and put it back on. It flopped in front of my eyes.

"What a cruel creature, torturing such a poor, innocent, youth."

I blinked behind the flower crown. I was not young, yet my height spoke differently. I blinked, and took her hand, paying attention to the puzzles as she spoke to me. I followed her through the tunnels and twists, before she left me. I made my way through, solving countless puzzles and whatnot. I found myself in front of a big tree, as to where Toriel came out and sighed. She apologized for leaving me behind, and felt like a bad guardian, to which I assured was okay. I would've liked to go home though, my dad was there, hopefully…

"Are you alright small child?"

"Yes, yes I'm okay."

"Alright, anyways, come inside, I have something for you."

I followed her in, admiring the inside.

"Your own room!"

I smiled up at her, hugging her side. She smiled down at me, and patted my head. I walked in, finding toys and whatnot in a box, a lamp, and my own little desk to write at. I found a bed with a handmade quilt, and a nice fluffy pillow. I shut off the lamp, and curled up under the covers. To be honest, I was terrified. I had no idea where I was, my dad was in the hospital, my mom was dead, and I was in a stranger's house. Who knows what could happen. When it all hit me, I felt like someone had hit me with a wave of sadness. And it hit hard. My body shook with sobs, and tears pursed down my face. I stopped crying, and wiped my nose on my jacket sleeve, drying my eyes. I got up, deciding I wasn't tired anymore, and sat at the desk, grabbing one of the notebook's there, and writing my feelings. I had lost my other journal back up on what I assumed was the surface to the beings down here. I grabbed a tiny padlock, and a key, and locked the journal shut. I hung the key on a string around my neck, and tucked it below my shirt, before realizing I was going to continue writing, to which I quickly unlocked it again and continued with the pen I was given. I continued writing, until sleep tugged at me. I rested my head on the journal, setting my pen down, and let my body fall into the void that was sleep.

When I awoke, a wonderful smell hit me. It had the perfect mix of cinnamon, and buttercup scent. I lifted my head, finding my back feeling weird from my position. My journal was locked and closed and tucked away in a corner. Toriel must have put it up. I picked up the pie. I grabbed the fork beside it and ate, feeling as if something gave me DETERMINATION. I finished the pie, and stood to take the plate to the kitchen. I grabbed my journal too. I held it close with a pen, grabbed my necklace with the key, and hung it around my neck, tucking it into my shirt. I walked into what looked like a living room to see Toriel reading a book in a cushioned armchair. I walked to what I assumed was the way to the kitchen, set my plate in the small sink, and walked back into the living room. Toriel smiled at me.

"I see you're up already, small child! Or should I call you by your name? I just realized I never asked! I apologize."

"It's okay Toriel! My name is Finn by the way." I told her politely, sitting on an armchair next to her with my hands folded in my lap.

"Alright Finn! Well, I've prepared a curriculum for your education, as well as activities, and I know this might surprise you, but I've always wanted to be a teacher."

"I'll keep that in mind." I thought.

"Now, Finn-"

"How do I get back home?"

Toriel paused.

"This is your home now."

"No, I mean, up there. With my dad…"

Toriel didn't have an expression.

"I have to go do something, stay here."

I got up and quickly followed her, my journal against my side. Toriel was standing in a passageway, connected to the stairs in the main room.

"It's always the same end for all of them."

I listened.

"They always come down here, and then they're killed by them."

I tried to keep up, but my legs were getting tired.

"I want to prevent that this time." Toriel paused. "There is a door at the end of this passage. I'm going to destroy it. That way, no one will get out."

Toriel continued on, and I ran to her. She stopped in front of a purple door.

"If you want to leave… prove to me… prove to me you are brave."

I paused, the black and white field returning. My little heart thing, soul, that flower called it, floated in front of me. A shocked expression crossed Toriel's face before it faded again. I looked at her with pleading eyes. She ignored it. She began to attack as I tried to talk to her. I dodged her fireballs, before they began to avoid me. She asked me to stop looking at her like that. I continued to, before the field faded. She had a look of sadness on her face.

"If you do go through, promise me that… promise me you won't come back."

She knelt down and hugged me, to which I hugged back. She let go, and I spun around to wave, but she was long gone. I turned back around, and walked through the purple doors.

The flower was there. He warned me. He told me…

"It's kill or be killed."

He faded back into the ground.

(LONGEST CHAPTER YET! 1327 WORDS! I'm so proud of myself. I skipped dialogue because I don't remember much ((despite just doing the Papyrus date)) THE UNDYNE FIGHT IS UNFAIR!)

(Anyways, my little horned dorks! Have fun, and remember, It's not kill or be killed!)
