Chapter 5
(Time to fight the fish lady.)
:)
(Undertale or any of it's characters do not belong to me, I only own my oc's. Any similarities between name, past, or anything else is a complete coincidence.)
A knight stood there, apparently patrolling. It must be Undyne, since it seemed to be hunting for something, someone…
Me.
She was hunting for me. I curled farther into a ball and watched her. She stepped closer, closer, and then began turning her head, spear raised. I didn't move, didn't want to move, couldn't move. She stopped looking and her spear disappeared in a quick flash of blue light, and then backed away, fading into the darkness. The glowing eye from her right eye vanished with her. I double checked the coast, then crawled out. Suddenly, something tumbled out of the grass. It was yellow, looked like a kid. It had a small horn on its head.
"Woah, did you see how she was looking at you!? She was staring at you, as if waiting for something, and you just… wow!"
I smiled nervously. The kid scurried on, tripping, face planting and then getting back up and continuing. I smiled at him, continuing on. A tiny little star sat next to some crystallized cheese. I thought about the poor mouse, but I knew that he would get that cheese out someday, so I pulled out a rock I'd had, and set it by the cheese with a little note from a page in my journal. I had written, 'hope you get that cheese out, maybe this will help.' I continued onward after being filled with DETERMINATION again. I was walking onto a bridge when three glowing dots appeared around me and spears shot up. I avoided them, hearing the knight's feet clunking below me. I looked down in terror. The knight looked back up. I broke eye contact and continued on. The knight continued following me until I made it to an end on the bridge. I turned around to go back, only to see her standing right there. She sent three spears flying down, which sliced the bridge, as I fell to what I thought was my death.
"I think it came from over here… oh! Are you hurt? Here."
"What's your name? Finn? That's a nice name. My name is…"
I sat up in a patch of yellow flowers, thinking I was back in the ruins, until I noticed water flowing beside me and piles of junk nearby. This must be where all their trash and stuff goes. I continued on, finding comfort in not walking in snow anymore. I noticed something ki;da just floating in the water and picked it up. It's a cover for an anime dvd. There were desperate claw scratches all over it. I continued on, raiding two random coolers of food, helped a Dummy be happy, and then continued to go on. I crossed a bridge, and found a cave on the other side. Above, a loud clang was heard, and I looked up. Undyne stood there, spear in hand. She glared down at me. I held my ground. DETERMINATION filled me. What Toriel had said about bravery, and the way most were encouraging me to go on, Papyrus's hug, which I was glad for. I walked into the arena, and Undyne jumped down, spear in hand.
The black and white field appeared as my soul appeared as well. First was using a shield to block arrows charging at me, then dodging spears, and I continued to spare her. I was determined to prove my kind yet brave self. After much healing and much dodging and shielding, Undyne knelt. She had been going at it for hours. I spat out blood from an earlier hit which involved a spear pearing my side. My side had healed up quickly, but I still had the pain from the injury. I managed to stand, and walked over. I extended a hand to help her up. She looked at it suspiciously before taking it. With a bit of effort, I helped her up. I smiled, blood still dripping from the corner of my mouth.
"After all that fighting… you still smile…"
I nodded. What was that, guilt? In her eyes. I couldn't tell. She grumbled, before picking me up, and very carefully putting me over her shoulder. I yelped in shock and tried to squirm out of her vice like grip.
"You're coming with me to get healed."
I blinked. Healed? Didn't know some monsters could care for injuries. Now that I thought about it, some didn't, aka, the damn whore. I suddenly panicked. My journal was still there. I squirmed, finally slipping out of Undyne's grip and grabbing my pen and journal. The key was intact as well as the padlock. I walked back to Undyne, held onto my pen and journal, and grabbed her hand.
"What's this?"
"A hand hold. Sometimes it's comforting, or it's a safety measure. It's a safety measure for me because I'm the type of human that can never leave something alone."
"Alright."
The walk was pretty much quiet. We had kinda just battled, so it was awkward. I asked if she had any interests. She said she enjoyed training. I nodded, giving a few tips from what I knew.
"Expect the unexpected from an enemy."
That was how we got conversation flowing. We talked about tactics and moves. I realized then…
I could make friends with all these monsters and bring them back up and prove the monsters were okay.
