Chapter 7
(Alrighty, so, time for Finn to meet his love life.)
I bid my dad farewell and hurried to the store. Four hours until sunset. Huh. Anyways, I grabbed a cart and began browsing. Grabbing an egg carton, and milk (Dad never came back with the milk-) I was trying to decide between mild sausage or more spicy.
"Spicy is really good with biscuits and gravy."
I jumped at the sudden voice. I spun around to find a maroon monster with a kind smile. He had short black hair tucked in between his tiny horns. Tiny horns sprouted from his forehead, and he had a muzzle like a cat, but thicker. It had fangs…ish. More like it's mouth shape. It's eyes were a mix between blue and green. It waved it's hand in front of my face.
"Hellloooooo? Anyone in there?"
"Yeah, sorry, spaced."
"I get that. Names Azrail by the way."
"Nice, I'm Finn."
"Anyways, Mild's also good with just eggs."
"Hmmm, I'll just get both!" I decided.
"Eh. Anyways, can you help me find the bread? I've never been to the surface."
"Yeah! Just follow me!"
After chatting and helping Azrail find the bread, we gave each other our numbers and left. I was confused though. How did he have a phone? Eh. Asgore probably got it for him. I was then called by Toriel.
"Yes?"
"Hello Finn, well, we've had a talk with the human government. They've claimed you as an ambassador for us, since you worked with us. Also, we have Flowey at our place. Papyrus and Flowey are bonding. Sans is reading a human pun book, and Undyne and Alphys are watching anime is it called? Anyways, I was told to tell you that. Flowey also asked me to thank you." Toriel explained.
"Alrighty! Tell Flowey I said your welcome, tell Pap that I would like to get him some human spaghetti tips, and Alphys and Undyne that I most definitely support their relationship." I responded.
"Alrighty! And what about Sans and Asgore?"
I froze up. To be fully honest, Sans scared me… a lot. His battle was extremely hard. In fact, I couldn't help but flinch whenever I saw one of his attacks pop up, even if it was defending.
"Asgore, tell him to just stop trying, and Sans… just, tell him I said Hi, alright?"
"Alrighty…"
"..."
"Finn, you know I can and will listen if you fear one of the two."
"No no, Toriel, that's one of my demons to face."
"Alright, just saying though."
I smiled, and we said our goodbyes, promising to visit them. We were going to celebrate by seeing the sun set on the ocean. I got myself home, put away my groceries, and then took a quick shower. After pulling on a pair of jeans, ripped at my knees and were quite baggy, and a simple black t-shirt, and brushing through my now extremely frizzy hair. I pulled on a pair of socks and my red and black plaid sneakers. Grabbing a bag, and filling it with gummy snacks for everyone, and ketchup for Sans, I rushed outside, and began rushing to the cliff on Mt. Ebott we planned to meet at. Everyone was already there. Alphys and Undyne were chatting, Sans and Toriel were tormenting Papyrus with puns, and Asgore was seemingly working up the courage for something. Flowey was in a pot, kinda just sitting there. I walked over and flopped down beside him.
"Finn!"
"Hello."
"It's nice to see you again. Whatcha bring?"
"Gummy snacks. Mainly just wanna see what everyone thinks, but I bought ketchup for skeleton smore over there." I said, pointing my thumb at Sans. A voice said quietly in my head,
'Why are you meeting up with them? They probably used you to escape the Underground.'
It had been speaking like this since the barrier broke. It would only be so long until more joined. I shook it off mentaly and had Flowey try one of the gummies. He actually enjoyed it, and so did the rest, except Undyne, who wouldn't even try one. Sans thanked me for the ketchup, and we all sat there on that cliff, chatting. I stayed silent, watching the sun slowly sink beneath the waves. It would be back the next day. Stars slowly started to appear in the sky as we all began to head home. We agreed to have Flowey come home with me. It was nice to have company, but it would only be for tonight, since Toriel had to house everyone until they could find houses for them. Flowey took in everything in my house. I claimed if he needed me I would be in the living room, and I set up multiple pots for him to appear in. One in the living room, one in my room, one in the kitchen, and one upstairs. I sat on the couch and picked out a random old book, sitting down on my very squishy couch and delving into a world of words.
