Kate woke to the feel of kisses along her inner thigh. She moaned as she began to stir, her legs opening further. With her eyes still closed, she grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulling his mouth to her with a louder moan. "Jack," she panted, her hands buried in his hair. Her hips pulled down, desperate for him. "Don't stop," she pleaded, her body trembling and on the verge of explosion. It wasn't long before she pulled his hair violently, holding his mouth against her as she hit her peak.

After she wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling him into a kiss. She tasted the mixture of herself and Jack on his tongue; it only added to her arousal.

"It's been so long since I've—" Jack started, rubbing his hands over her thigh. He suddenly realized what he'd said, his eyes wide.

Kate raised an eyebrow. If he thought they were still together, he'd know the sex had been constant throughout their relationship. The only time he didn't have her was while they were broken up.

"I can only watch so much tv in the hospital," Jack lied, trying to make an excuse. "So I had a fantasy or two…"

"Oh yeah?" She smiled, crawling across the bed to where he sat upright. "What did you fantasize about?"

Jack grabbed her by the hips, moving her to his lap. She let her hands rest on his shoulder as he lifted her body up and down, letting her take in all of him. He caught her breasts in his mouth, making her yelp in pleasure. She bent her head down to kiss him, her tousled curls brushing against his cheeks. "I love you," she whispered, her lips sweeping across his ear. He locked eyes with her, their pace slowing down as they studied each other. "I love you," she whispered again, her tone vulnerable.

Kate felt the weight of her betrayal; every time she looked in Jack's eyes all she saw was her deceit. She could feel the words on the tip of her tongue.

Jack could sense Kate's guilty conscience and knew making love so intimately would only break her. He pulled her off and back onto the bed, grabbing her wrists tightly above her head. He slammed into her roughly, every thrust eliciting a moan. He released her wrists and dipped his head as he spilled into her.

After, Kate pulled him down into an embrace; the only sound in the room was the sound of them struggling to steady their breathing.

"I never want to let you go again," Jack admitted. "Losing you was—"

"Losing me?" Kate stood up, her gaze intense. Suddenly, her head tilted skeptically. "Your memories came back," she breathed in a defeated tone. "You lied to me…"

"But you lied to me, too!" Jack burst. He hadn't believed his luck when she'd done the same thing, ensuring she couldn't get mad when he did it.

Kate bit her lip, nodding softly. "I didn't want to overwhelm you in the hospital."

"That's not why," Jack stood up, taking a few steps towards her. "Why, Kate? Say it."

"Because I wanted us to still be together," she whispered, still not looking at him. "The accident just… I've always… It made it hard to pretend I ever stopped loving you."

Jack stepped closer, "when I was falling down the steps, do you know what I thought of?" She looked almost breathless as she watched him. "I thought of you, Kate. I thought of how badly I wanted to kiss you in that net. I thought of when you kissed me on the island and ran off. I thought of the first time you let me in your bed. I thought of how it sounded the first time you told me that you loved me. I thought of you, Kate."

"You let me just keep lying—"

"—you didn't lie."

"Jack—"

"You said we had a fight and we did. And I stopped you before you could say anything else. Did you ever think I'd be angry about that?"

Kate stared at him, dumbfounded. She wasn't sure if she did lie. She wasn't sure of anything in that moment. "You knew this whole time?"

"My memory came back after a few days." He saw her struggling to process everything.

Kate took a step closer to him, "I meant everything I said," she whispered. "I love you."

"So let's just keep going down this path, let's see where it goes."

"We know where it goes," she let herself smile as she stepped closer, pulling him into a kiss.

The end.
