Chapter 2: The Summer Camp-Out
The next day, I met up with Sarah, James, and Henri, as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald, at the county park in Peters Township for a Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties summer camp-out. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my best friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We began the day with Alex, Justin, Max, and I jamming out to our favorite songs from 98 Degrees. We tried all different kinds of fun activities, such as wilderness skills, archery, high ropes, and, of course, a swimming pool. For lunch, we ate delicious food, like hamburgers, hot dogs, Potato Patch fries, M&Ms, candy bark, and fresh fruit kebabs. We even had some time for some fun games in between, like Hollywood Couple Shuffle. While James, Henri, Justin, and Max played sports, Sarah, Alex, and I gave manicures and pedicures to each other before we went swimming. "Ow!" Alex cried. "What's wrong, Alex?" Sarah asked. "I feel like I am getting another callus on my foot, Sarah," Alex stated. "I have a callus, too," I told my best friend. "It became a sore just last night." "Are you guys having a good time so far?" James asked us. "Yes, we are," Sarah replied. "I remember when I was nervous about trying gym class back in middle school, but then I realized how important it was to stay fit then." "Come on, James," Justin stated. "Let's get into the swimming pool!" "Okay, Justin," James agreed. I also shot a music video with my band, Angel Kitty, covering 98 Degrees' newest summer single "Where Do You Wanna Go?". After high ropes and swimming, we played more Hollywood Couple Shuffle and another game called Fly on the Wall. We also did makeovers and made our own lip balm, while the boys played some more sports. Then, we ate Paparazzi Pizza for dinner, along with chips and veggie sticks. "You did a really great job performing today, Angel," Alex told me. "Thank you, Alex," I replied. "I am glad that you are taking up music again," Alex continued. "I remember when you gave a really nice performance at the Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center in Johnstown as a solo artist." We closed out the day with Sarah, James, Henri, and I jamming out to our favorite songs from Carlos Santana. Then, it was campfire time as we changed into our pajamas and got comfy. It was time for snacks and s'mores. "All of those snacks look really yummy, Max," Henri stated, licking his lips. "I can't wait to eat all of them." "Me too, Henri," Max agreed. "The s'mores look especially yummy!" "I give you a shout-out for crossing the county line this past week, Justin," James pointed out. "I wish that I could cross the county line and invite you guys for an overnight." "Is there a place north of Ross Township that you can think of, James?" Justin asked. "How about Zelienople in Butler County just off Interstate 79?" James asked. "I promise that we will have our next overnight outing together there since we had one in Murrysville in Westmoreland County and now Peters Township in Washington County." "This has been an awesome summer so far, Sarah," Alex remarked. "That's funny," I remarked. "Where have I heard that before?" "Well, I am glad that you are enjoying it, Alex," Sarah agreed. "We have got to do plenty of awesome things so far this summer, like creative writing, trivia, cooking, virtual traveling, Improv, and even a summer party at Schenley Plaza in Oakland with ice cream," Alex stated. "And, let's not forget about all those overnight trips," I added. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to go to sleep in our tents for the night. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Alex replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
