Chapter Two- Viox

After she had arrived home with Violet, she let out a loud sigh of relief. She left her crappy teaching job, met a new person, and was starving! She quickly rushed to the kitchen to find a small healthy snack for her to munch on and tie her over till dinner time. She was in the middle of browsing when she heard Violet clear her throat. Viox sighed, "Yes?" She asked her twin, turning and looking at the other.

"I just got off the phone with Headmaster Jean. She wants to offer you a job at the University." Violet said as Viox looked at her sibling with wide eyes, "A job?! Seriously?! I didn't even? How did? There was no?" She took a moment as Violet blinked, "I know you're not an English teacher, but do you plan on finishing those sentences?" She asked as Violet swallowed the lump in her throat, "She's truly offering me a job?" Viox asked. Violet nodded, "She is, apparently someone put in a good word for you and she was already looking into a secondary music teacher that can do part time economics as well. I can call her back and tell her your answer." She offered as Viox looked down at her feet, who on earth put in a good word for her? She pushed it aside as she looked up again, "I'm in!" She exclaimed as she smiled, Violet smiled back, "I'll tell her you're in." She said walking away to make the phone call. Viox smiled. Shr had a new job!

As the night began to settle in, the Hala family took their seats at the table. At the head was the Hala Twins father, Altair Hala, a man the was born and raised in Mondstadt, he had always been a city boy, raised as a performer due to his family owned the biggest Broadway musical theater, The Jaded Troupe. He was a okay man to Viox, and a worse father when it came to raising her and her sister. He stood at about 5'10" with clean cut and slicked back, black red hair, his green eyes were not as bright as his daughter's, instead they were a deep dark green compared to Viox's eyes. The woman on his left was the Hala Twins mother, Mika Hala. Her hair was pink and was cut short, as it brushed against the woman's shoulders, her blue eyes were icy blue compared to the sky blue of Violet's. She stood at about 5'5" which explained the twins' shorter heights. The woman came from Liyue, in a small fishing town, she had been the only woman available for marriage in her town, but had fallen for Altair when he had stopped in the town on a trip to pick up a large amount of fish for the performance. She wasn't what you call a patient woman, nor a very good mother either. In fact if the twins could have left, they would have, but they were stuck until they were married. That's how the Hala's had always worked.

It was tradition, although Viox had been saving up to get her own place. She wanted to break the horrible tradition. Violet sat at the right of their father, while Viox sat at the other end of the table. She watched as everyone gathered food onto their plates, as she took a breath, "I quit my job." She stated as her father paused in his eating, "You what?" He asked, a glare already forming on his face, "I quit my job." Viox repeated, as her father fully glared, "You quit before you finished the week you had left?! That's ridiculous Viox! You don't even have another job lined up, how are you to pay any of your bills?!" He snarled at her, as Viox lowered her head at the onslaught. "I found a job earlier today." She said in a very soft voice, flinching at her mother's huff, "Oh yes please tell us again how you just want to teach music. Can't you bother to teach a different subject that actually has value?" Mika snapped as Viox swallowed, "It's in Economics and Music, it's like a duo teaching job." She says quietly as her father snorted, "Economics, a tasteless subject as well." He commented as Viox stood up from the table, tired of the insults. She excused herself as she walked to her room. Viox bit her lip as she continued to hear the insults that her parents tossed about her, her teaching, her lack of order. She closed her bedroom door with a click, leaning her head on the cool wood, "If only...I had someone to take me away." She whimpered out quietly, as a tear flowed down her cheek. She swiped it away with a shaky hand as she took a moment to sit on the flooring of her room.

Her dinged quietly with a new message, as she frowned, picking herself off the floor and heading over to her bedside, her phone was on the charger as she picked it up and looked at the screen. A message from an unknown number? It was very very rare when she would get one of those. Viox quickly opened the phone to read the text.

Unknown number- Hello

Viox tilted her head, before responding.

Viox Hala- I think you may have the wrong number.

She sent it out and was shocked to see that the person was already typing back as another message slid onto the screen.

Unknown number- Is this Viox Hala? Sister of Violet Hala?Viox paused, this person was clearly looking for her. She bit her lip as she replied back.Viox Hala- This is she. Can I ask who this is?Unknown number- Its Kaeya Alberich.Viox Hala- Oh, good evening Kaeya.Kaeya Alberich- Good evening to you as well Miss Viox. I heard from the Headmaster that you have taken the job offer, I was curious if I could pick you up before the University started? You start tomorrow morning, and its better if you get used to your new classroom.

Viox paused, the Vice Headmaster wanted to help her get settled in? Not that she minded, Kaeya seemed gentlemanly enough not to do anything fishy. She tilted her head to the side, before sighing, she didn't see a problem with going in early. She still had a few lesson plans for Music, maybe he could help her with some lesson plans for Economics as well. She smiled a little as she replied.

Viox Hala- I would love nothing more. Please pick me up at this address tomorrow morning.

As she typed her address, they exchanged times for pick up, she would be skipping breakfast with her family, but she wasn't worried, maybe it would be a good break of tradition. She smiled more as she set her phone down. Thinking about her first day of a new job. Maybe this would be good for her.
