Carisi stands at the railing, alone... again. This time his mind is racing. He did the right thing...he thinks. His last conversation with Nicole wasn't great, but they were not officially broken up. He wasn't free to be kissing another woman, let alone Amanda... but it was almost like a reflex. Kissing her back. His body reacted, along with his heart and soul.

-

All day he'd been debating whether to apologize to Nicole and see if they should try to get things back on track. Or should they admit they were just too different. Not to mention his heart didn't literally stop beating when she walked into a room the way his still did when he saw Amanda. Didn't everyone deserve to be with someone who made them feel like that.

-

The moment Amanda showed him her feelings had changed, and there was a chance for them...and then that kiss...after that the decision was made. There was no question.

-

The party is still going strong behind him. A slower song began to play. Dominick listened to the lyrics while he looked out over that water, letting his mind continue to race. It kept going back to that moment. When she kissed him.

-

'This love is good, this love is bad

This love is alive, back from the dead

These hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me'

-

Hearing those words...replaying that kiss in his mind. He can still feel her, smell her. He's dreamt about kissing Amanda like that for 7 years, and to have the reality surpass anything in his imagination...it was a lot to wrap his brain around...

-

'Tossing turning

Struggled through the night with someone new

And I could go on and on

On and on

Lantern burning

Flickered in my mind for only you

But you're still gone

Gone, gone

Been losing grip

On sinking ships

You showed up just in time'

-

This song was killing him. He had convinced himself in recent months to let go of the hope something would happen with Amanda...and started seeing someone else. But tonight it was like this love had new life...He'd tried to bury the burning in his heart for her, but his wildest dreams came true tonight. What was he thinking letting Amanda go like that??

-

'This love left a permanent mark

This love is glowing, in the dark

These hands had to let it go free

And this love came back to me'

-

He can't let this be how his story with Amanda ends. He bangs his hand on the railing. He's got to take the chance. He can't regret what might have been the rest of his life. Actually he can't regret it another minute. She's always been what he wants. Pretty much since he's known her. And finally, it seems she's ready to say she wants him too. As soon as he let her go free, she came back.

-

Dominick pulls out his phone. This isn't the best way to go about it, but honestly they'd been communicating by phone for the past week since that argument over marriage. And he's made up his mind, this is happening tonight.

-

He dials the phone, brings it up to his ear, and looks back over the water.

"Nicole"?
