Captains Log, Stardate: 7588.34.

"As my first act as Captain of this vessel, The Excalibur is now traveling to the Anomaly to investigate. We have Been traveling at warp for about 6 minutes now; the Engineering department recently made the necessary modulations for their shields, which allowed them to safely pass through the effects of the Anomaly for a specific radius. I have the utmost faith in this ship and my crew that they can do this, even though it's our first mission."

"ETA to the anomaly?" Requested Edison, sitting on the Captain's Chair. "Our current ETA at our current speed is 2 minutes, Captain." Informed She'rl. As the formidable Starship streaked through the darkness of space towards the Anomaly, space started to change. It became redder as the Excalibur traveled further into the unknown. "Captain, based on our calculations, we'll have to maintain a distance of 10,000 Kilometers so that the shields can protect us from the effects of the anomaly." She informed. "Aye, bring us 12,000 Kilometers of the Anomaly, Lieutenant. All Hands, Yellow Alert." Commanded Edison. As he issued his order, the Anomaly started to come into view. It looked like a small spiral black hole, it's event horizon was dark red. Its singularly was black, reflecting no light at all, like a black hole. Its spirals from its ergosphere were a lighter shade of red than the event horizon. As the ship got closer and closer, the imposing size. It was massive compared to Excalibur. It was about twice the size of Roosevelt Station, which was about a kilometer in height. Its spiral from its ergosphere would be seen shooting out flares of highly concentrated energy, similar to fits on the sun. The Crew of the Bridge looked in awe as they saw it. Atathia put her hand over her mouth in amazement; Xehrarv stood up from his typically slouched position to get a better view; Sh'erl's hairs and ears stood up when she saw it. But the most surprised person was the Captain. He stood up from his Chair, looking closely at the Anomaly as it slowly crept further into the view screen. He'd never seen anything like this, nor has his father told anything like this before. The Anomaly slowly stopped expanding on the viewscreen as the ship stopped. "We are 12,000 Kilometers away, Captain from the anomaly." Informed She'rl. Edison snapped out of his trance and back into his body. "Status of shields?" He questioned. "Shields are holding," Xehrarv Responded. Edison let out an exhale as he heard that. So far, so good. "Commander. Start conducting preliminary scans of the Anomaly." Commanded Edison. As Atathia listened to the order, she quickly went to work. She took her hand off her mouth and went back to her station. She activated the scans on her console. Immediately, the scans provided unusual and fascinating information about the Anomaly. "Sir, we are picking up scans. It would seem that it displays the properties of a wormhole. However…" she said as she trailed off. "However what, Commander?" Questioned Edison. "Sir… the scans that we took of the center displays… irrational values of some sort as we scanned further and further into the center." Informed Atathia. Edison looked confused. He heard about Irrational Values before but wasn't all too familiar with them. "Irrational Values, what do you mean by that?" He asked. "Irrational Values are values we give for values that we have no classification for. For some reason, we can't put a value onto the center of the Anomaly." Explained Atathia. "I see now. As soon as our scans are done, transmit them to Starfleet." Ordered Edison. However, the science station started to beep as a red circle appeared on the console as he said that. Atathia looked at her console to check; soon afterward, she gasped. "Captain. There's been a significant increase in the temperature of the Anomaly rapidly. Its cause seems to be… a flare coming from the ergosphere!" Informed Atathia as she read off the readings. "It seems to be heading right towards us Bearing 30, mark 350! Distance is 200 Kilometers!" It would seem the entire bridge crew jumped when they heard the report. "Helm! Hard to Starboard, Full Impulse!" Commanded Edison, but it was too late.

The Solar Flare smashed into the ship's starboard side, smashing it away like a child kicking a rag doll. The collision threw the crew in the vessel like ragdolls, sending them across hallways, tables, and even in the bridge. Edison found himself, face down, on the floor, just to the right of his Chair. The crew of the Excalibur was soon getting back to their stations. "Report!" He loudly commanded as he got up from the ground. Xehrarv groaned as he got back into his station. "The Collison from the solar flare has knocked out our shields! We are now totally defenseless against the Anomaly!" He worryingly informed. "Red Alert!" He commanded. "Bridge to Engineering!" Edison said.

"We've been 'avin' sum major problems down 'ere sir! Main shield generators are out from the explosion and 're Main shield generators 're out from the explosion and EMP blast, so they're broken! I'll try my best to fix 'em but We 'ave over problems to deal with!" Alastair informed the Captain. "What do you mean other problems? What the hell is going on down there?!" Yelled Edison, clearly stressed out due to the situation at hand. "The ships impulse engines and warp nacelles 're overheated, and any attempt to use them might risk causin' them ter creak apart from overheatin'! So we're dead in the water!" Alastair informed the Captain. "Get those shields back up! No matter the costs! That's an order!" Commanded Edison. "Aye. We'll get them shields back on as soon as we can, Captain. engineerin' out!" Alastair maintained before his voice went out. "Sickbay to Bridge." Kylkuc's voice reverberated on the bridge. "Approximately 23 crewmen are wounded; all of them are minor wounds. Most of them are in the front section of the saucer section." he notified the Captain. "Get them fixed up, Commander." He Commanded. "Sir, Life Forms aren't Machines; they can't be fixed," said Kylkuc. "It's an Earth Expression. Just make them better, Edison out." As Edison finished talking with Kylkuc, a riveting noise enveloped the ship. Outside, without the help of its engines, the Excalibur was tugged on by the immense gravity of the Anomaly furthermore would pull the helpless Starship closer to the Anomaly. "Captain! We're caught in the gravitational pull of the Anomaly!" blurted She'rl, desperately trying to regain control of the Starship. "Can we stop?" Questioned Edison, activating the emergency safety belts as he sat on the Captain's Chair. "I-I can't do anything about it!" She stammered after she and the entire bridge crew got into their emergency safety belts.

The ship continued to drift towards the Anomaly helplessly. "Send a distress signal, Lieutenant!" Commanded Edison. "Sir! Comms are out! The Anomaly must've fried them!" Rolf exclaimed, trying to get communication back up. "All hands to emergency escape pods!" Edison commanded. "Sir, shipwide communications are out too! And it knocked out escape pod systems too!" Rolf said worryingly. The viewscreen was pitch black; they were right in front of the Anomaly as he said this. "Looks like we're going in!" Sh'erl gloomily informed. Edison held his Chair. He looked around the bridge; it was very different from when he first stepped out of it; it was in a panic, stations weren't operative, and the crew was filled with anxiety and panic. "Captain to ship. If anyone can hear this… be strong, be bold, be brave. Captain out." Edison said, hoping that anyone heard it. "Captain, our ETA to the singularity is forty seconds." She'rl informed. "Wait! Xehrarv! Are you able to send to a launch torpedo with all of our scans of the Anomaly, including our logs?" Questioned Edison. "Aye, Captain." Said Xehrarv. "Make it so." declared Edison. "Sir, what's the point of that?" Questioned Atathia. "Number one, that is our obituary," informed Edison. The Torpedo shot out the rear torpedo bay, slowly disappearing from sight. "ETA is ten seconds from the singularity!" Informed She'rl. "It was an honor serving with you. It was the most fulfilling thing I've ever done." Said Edison, closing his eyes, accepting his fate. Moments afterward, the ship was sucked in by the Anomaly. And when there was once a mighty starship, there was now nothing but space. The Excalibur, along with including 432 souls, was seemed to be lost to history, just like the last ship named it.
