Chapter 2: When Oceans Rise, The Lion Roars

(Note: As evident by the title, this is Jacob Ackerman's debut as Kamen Rider Blades, although he made a cameo in the previous episode. Also, Saiyuu Dragon makes an appearance. Enjoy!)

A day had passed since the battle with the Golem Megiddo, and Blaze is beginning to contemplate on his decision to join the Sword of Logos, which fuels a sense of uncertainty within him, despite the fact that he assured Roxy that there are adventures ahead of them the day prior. "I don't know what to do with this, Roxy." This brought Roxy's attention, wanting to encourage him to do so.

"Come on, Blaze. You had that Book Gate for at least a day.", assured Roxy. "It counts for something at least." As they were talking, they were greeted by the sudden arrival of Jacob Ackerman, the Swordsman of Water. "And who are you, exactly?"

"I'm Jacob Ackerman, the Swordsman of Water. I was sent here by Madam Blight." As he introduces himself, he immediately recognizes Blaze. "You must be the Swordsman of Flames." Blaze tried to hide it initially, but later confirms it.

"So, Jacob, what do you want?", asked Blaze. "I want an adventure, but I don't know what to do." While they were chatting away, another Megiddo arrived at the Regulus Library's entrance, the Ari Megiddo. This caught Blaze, Roxy, and Jacob by surprise. "Another Megiddo? I just fought one yesterday!", lamented Blaze.

While the Ari Megiddo is wreaking havoc in the city, Jacob storms off from the others. "Hey Jacob, where are you going?" Blaze later gives chase, but later sees him pull out his Seiken Swordriver with the Suiseiken Nagare already inside.

"Blaze, I suggest you let me handle this.", requested Jacob. "Ever since I became the Swordsman of Water, I swore to serve the Sword of Logos until my last dying breath." Jacob says this as he pulls out his Seiken Swordriver, which has the Suiseiken Nagare already inside.

"Seiken Swordriver!"

Jacob then pulled out the Lion Senki Wonder Ride Book, opening its cover to the Story page.

"This blue mane marks a new history of the noble king's battle..."

Jacob then inserts the Lion Senki book into the middle slot of the Swordriver and unsheathes the Suiseiken Nagare from the Swordriver.

"Nagare Battou!"

"Henshin!"

"Lion Senki! Nagare Issatsu! Hyakujuu no oh to Suiseiken Nagare ga majiwaru toki konpeki no tsurugi ga kiba wo muku!"

Jacob, now transformed into Kamen Rider Blades, challenges the Ari Megiddo to a duel. Having no sense of honor, the Ari Megiddo just attacks Jacob without a second thought. Knowing this, Jacob decided to change his strategy. This led to him summoning his lion familiar, aiding him in combat. However, the Ari Megiddo is not giving Jacob any favors.

Back in the Library of Regulus, Roxy went to Blaze's desk to find one of his Wonder Ride Books, in particular Saiyuu Journey, based on Journey to the West. As Blaze leaves the vicinity, ready to transform, Roxy threw him the Saiyuu Journey Wonder Ride Book, ready for use.

"You can do it, Blaze!", yelled Roxy. Blaze then activates the Saiyuu Journey book and opens its Story page.

"Saiyuu Journey!"

"The amazing adventure of a certain monkey and the whereabouts of that journey..."

Blaze then activated the Brave Dragon book and inserted both Wonder Ride Books at once, unsheathing Kaenken Rekka.

"Rekka Battou!"

"Henshin!"

"Kiseki no Saiyuu Dragon! Rekka Nisatsu! Mukkimuki no osaru no kuwawari, kaen no tsurugi ga mai odoru!"

Now transformed into Saiyuu Dragon, Blaze assists Jacob in defeating the Ari Megiddo, however it was there that they realize something was up. The Ari Megiddo was revealed to be empowered by the Ankokuken Kurayami, allowing him to gain access to the element of Darkness.

Meanwhile, in the Chasm of the Dead, as they were observing the battle, Zoous wondered why Andrew Mercer, the current Calibur, gave the Ari Megiddo this boost in power. "It's about the new Saber…", replied Mercer. "He's becoming a rising threat to our rule."

This is where Legeiel showed up with a mask he found back in Wonder World. "Master, I think we found a way to harness Yubel's power." Wondering what to do with the mask, Andrew decided to enhanced its power. Something he would've done had Boscha not entered the room and interfere.

"I'm taking that mask!", proclaimed Boscha, using the Book Gate to leave the Chasm as she does so, ready to take on both Saber and Blades, and quite possibly, her former friend, Amity.

"So, Zoous, you trained that Witch?", asked Andrew. Zoous told him that he had cursed Boscha by turning her into Yubel's vessel. "Interesting. Now, prepare yourselves. Our time is finite."

Back to Blaze and Jacob, the Ari Megiddo was able to knock back the two, however Jacob summoned his blue lion once again to aid them in battle. Likewise, Blaze was able to summon Brave Dragon in an effort to stop the Ari Megiddo. Then, to prevent the Megiddo from escaping, Blaze used the Taisei Bracer to latch on to said Megiddo and pulled him to the ground.

This allowed Jacob to run up to the Ari Megiddo and sheathed Suiseiken Nagare, pulling the trigger and unsheathing it once again.

"Hissatsu Dokuha!"

"Nagare Battou! Lion! Issatsu Geki! Water!"

The Ari Megiddo tried to dodge the attack, but with little success. Once the blade hit him, he was ultimately done with. Shortly after his demise, Boscha arrives near an alleyway, holding the mask Legeiel found. That's when Yubel started talking to her through said mask, referred to as a Dualizer.

"Boscha, do you see those two over there?" She introduced Boscha to the two swordsmen, Blaze and Jacob. "I need to you to fight them, no matter the cost." She ultimately agrees, and threw a spear at the two.

Meanwhile, at the Sword of Logos base, Amity and co. had been observing the battle as well, only to discover that Boscha had returned after 11 years, now serving the Megiddo. "Boscha, what did they do to you?" Amity thought to herself. "I have to go and help them."

But as Gus pointed out, Boscha is under the influence of Yubel, meaning she doesn't feel like herself, and he believes that the two would be able to fight her anyways. But Amity thinks otherwise, and leaves the base.

Meanwhile, both Blaze and Jacob dodged the spear, which hit the wall of a nearby restaurant, scaring a few people in the process. The two wondered who threw that spear, only to be greeted by Boscha, holding the Dualizer.

"Who are you?", asked Jacob. "And what was that spear for?!"

"I'm pretty sure you know the name Amity Blight.", replied Boscha. "I've been wanting to see her again."

"If you want to hurt Amity, you have to go through us first!" This prompted Boscha to pull out her dagger and throw it at Jacob, only for it to be deflected by Nagare. All of this convinced Yubel to take control Boscha's body and use the Dualizer.

"Dualize!"

Black and purple smoke cover Boscha's body, and in her place is Yubel, a biped demon from Wonder World's ancient past. Now that she gained a physical form, she's able to wipe the floor with both Blaze and Jacob. However, Amity was able to save the two in time using one of her Abominations.

"Oh, hello Yubel…", greeted Amity. "I see you're taking over Boscha's body."

"Well, Boscha's too much of a chicken to actually fight back.", remarked Yubel. "Besides, why would you pull out a measly dagger when you can fight with your bare fists?"

"Don't you ever call me a chicken!", replied Boscha.

"So, is this a Jekyll and Hyde situation where you two share the same body?", asked Amity. "If you two keep arguing like this, I would kick your ass."

Yubel eventually regained control and started attacking Amity, but Blaze was able to deflect her attack. Amity then forced Yubel into a retreat by creating a knuckle and punching square in the face. "Believe me, Amity, we've only just begun…"

As the three gathered together, suddenly the back of Blaze's hand started glowing. "Blaze, what's that?", asked Amity.

"I don't know, but I'm willing to learn more about it.", replied Blaze.

"So, Blaze, you ready to join us?", asked Jacob.

"Yes."

Roxy eavesdropped on their conversation, and she was delighted to hear Blaze accept the offer to join the Sword of Logos. "I'm glad you did it, Blaze."

The next day…

Blaze enters the Sword of Logos base, in awe of the of the place. It was then he was greeted by Amity's wife, Luz Noceda. "Hola, soy Luz.", greeted Luz.

"Nice to meet you, Luz. I'm Blaze.", replied Blaze.

As the SoL members welcome Blaze and Roxy, the former Saber, Blake Siverman, arrived at the base. "I see my nephew has claimed Kaenken Rekka."

"Uncle Blake!", yelled Blaze. "It's nice to see you again."

"It's nice to see you again, too, Blackwell.", replied Blake. "I haven't seen you in forever."

This naturally got Amity's attention. "Blackwell? Is there something I don't know about, Blaze?"

"Well, Blackwell is my real name. My uncle gave me the name Blaze." That's when Blaze's hand started glowing again. "Uncle Blake, can you tell me what's going on?"

Blake grabs his nephew's hand, and is shocked by the revelation. "I haven't seen this emblem in forever…"

"What is it?", asked Blaze.

"It's the Mark of Vanguard. You inherited it from your father, Blaze.", replied Blake. "Don't worry, that power will come in handy later."

Blaze now wonders about his own self. "Is there more to me than just being a measly author? It's something that I can't understand…" He thought to himself.

Back in the chasm, Boscha, and by extension Yubel, were still heavily injured from their last battle. This caught Storius' attention. "You seem badly hurt, Boscha. Would you like some assistance?"

"Nah, I'm good." She replied. But as Storius remarked, she can't fight at full capacity with her injuries. "Alright, I'll accept your offer."

"Good.", muttered Storius. "Because Lord Mercer has plans for you…"
