I just want to start this by saying that I'm sorry. It's been a very long time since I've updated, and this is because of a number of factors. I've had a lot going on recently, both with school and personally, plus it's just been very hard to get into a fanfiction headspace. For that reason, I've decided to discontinue this fic. Hopefully you aren't too angry with me, and I promise I'm not making this decision lightly, but in all truth, if I didn't, it would probably be another month before I update again, and honestly, I've just got too much going on right now to work on something like this, too. I've never really enjoyed writing one-shots, and the only reason I chose to write something like this was to segue into my AU where the rebellion never happened and I could launch into some real stories. I know this is unfair to all of you, but it's just going to be impossible for me to finish this. I truly am very sorry.

There are a couple of things I want to get clear, especially regarding the future of my fanfiction writing. Number one: I have no intention of leaving fanfiction. This place is freaking awesome, and it's been absolutely amazing to read other people's writing and read positive reviews of mine. I feel like QueenofFunerals37 deserves a special shout-out as one of my most consistent readers. Your reviews are hugely appreciated. Number two: This concerns my collaboration SYOT Organized Chaos. This story will absolutely be continued, as this is how I intend to test the waters of an SYOT to see if I want to start writing my own. It might be a while before I begin to write it, but I really am very excited to write that.

The only other things I want to say concern a couple of big reveals concerning major characters in my universe. There are a couple of huge things I had planned, and instead of letting them go to waste, I'll put them here.

One: The victor of the 46th Hunger Games was Trent Devlin, the boy Markell volunteered for in 40th HG and Mako's son. He was so inspired by Markell's sacrifice that he began to train relentlessly with his father until he was 18 and he volunteered. He led the Careers to a first-ever all-Careers finale, where the final six were all tributes from One, Two, and Four. After a brutal six-way fight, Trent emerged the lone survivor.

Two: Jack's son was Blight. The plot twist at the end of 40th HG wasn't as climactic as I wanted it to be, but I was just prepping for this. Blight was the first, and as of the 3rd Quarter Quell, only grandchild of a victor to win the Games.

So there you have it. Two major reveals I had planned for a while, and now they get to see life at long last. I do intend to publish an AU where Katniss never volunteered in the very near future (as in as soon as I'm done writing this). Once again, I'm very sorry about this and I hope to see you at Organized Chaos.
