Hello everyone! I wasn't planning on updating today, but in honour of 7 followers here's Chapter 3 of 'Under Fire"!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Marvel or any of these characters (I wish I did) Spoilers for Avengers: Age of Ultron

Wanda felt her stomach churning with nerves as they approached Meeting Room B. She wiped her palms on her black leggings and fiddled with the cuff of the new denim jacket she'd thrown on over her red t-shirt this morning. She smiled briefly at the memory of shopping for clothes with Pepper. The CEO of Stark Industries had been appalled at Tony's offer to furnish Wanda's room for her (she knew what it would look like - a life sized model of Iron Man next to pink bedsheets - why did he think women found pink so appealing?) and took her on a shopping spree. After some hesitation, and lots of reassurance that they had plenty of money to spare, Wanda picked out bedsheets, pillows covers, a nice rug and some knick-knacks to make her room feel less bare and more like home. And although nothing would be home without Pietro the Avengers had tried in their own ways to welcome Wanda into their new base. Notably Tony - by arriving breathless one night in his Iron Man suit, in his arms clutches a battered teddy bear and a shattered picture frame which he had salvaged from the rubble of Wanda and Pietro's flat back in Sokovia.)

But the memory was brief and Wanda landed with a thud back into the present. Why did she have a feeling that whatever Tony wanted to talk about her was about something bad? The feeling made her legs shaky and her breathing quick and uneven. She caught Natasha's eye as Clint opened the glass door, and the spy held her gaze and the shadow of a smile creeped into the corner of her mouth, as if she was telling Wanda it would all be fine. Well, gulped Wanda, we are about to find out.

At the centre of a high-ceilinged, airy, large-windowed room, Tony sat next to Steve and Vision at the edge of a square mahogany table. Clint, Natasha and Wanda took their seats, Wanda's stomach in knots. Natasha's eyes lingered on one of the two empty seats. If anyone else noticed, they didn't acknowledge it, (though Tony mentally scolded himself for not removing them).

Clint was the first to speak: "So Stark, what's the news? Why drag us here instead of just using the lounge upstairs?" he asked, plodding down on one of the hard-backed chairs with a wince. "Ow, these chairs are hard."

"Well Legolas -"

"-Clint."

"Sure. Katniss."

"I do not understand why you keep referencing fictional characters," chimed in Vison.

"Tony, come on." Steve urged the Iron Man, but he was smiling. Wanda noticed this and it calmed her a little bit. Steve had been ever the courteous gentleman towards her, and they had formed a friendly bond. But still her eyes were darting around the room like a fox's trapped in a cage. She just couldn't wait anymore.

"Why don't you tell them Capsicle?" bit back Tony playfully.

"Okay." sighed Steve.

Tony rolled his eyes.

"Well, I and Natasha," here he turned and smiled at Wanda, "have decided that…"
