POISON
He poisoned them. Not with chemicals, but with words.
He started small. Planted seeds of doubt in Barracks Four. The doubt spread to Barracks Five and Six. Rumours flew, resentments grew, fear took root.
And then he convinced some enterprising young Sergeant with a chip on his shoulder to take action and lead the charge to have Colonel Hogan replaced.
And then he stood back, watched, and waited.
The poison worked.
Within a month, Hogan escaped and was replaced. Klink, his perfect record shot, was transferred, too.
Thus, Hochstetter eliminated Hogan. Without violence and without even knowing about the operation.
