I was pulled from my most loved novel Pride and prejudice by Ginny practically screaming. I was at the top flood and could still hear her clearly from the bottom floor.
"Harry Potter you are the biggest a**hole I have ever met."
I quickly stood and almost ran to the door. Ginny stormed past me to her bedroom. I ran down the steps. Miss Weasley was hugging Harry. I waited in the shadows until she let go.
"I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything. And Harry? Ginny is just upset but she'll come around just give her time." With that miss, Weasley left the room. I gathered all the strength I had and stepped into the light.
"Hermione" Harry let out a deep breath. Tears formed in my eyes and a lump swelled in my throat.
"It's been so long" I almost burst into tears at the last part. "It's so good to see you!" I moved forward a little and he did as well. Then I hugged him as tightly as I did when he was going into the woods. "I am so sorry" I sobbed. I felt as though my lungs were getting trapped by my rib cage and they could not fill all the way.
"Breath slowly Hermione," Harry said softly rubbing my back. I took small breaths trying to calm down. "I am the one who is sorry. I should have been here for Ginny for you and Ron. For everyone."
"Oh, Harry." I pulled away a little to look at him. "We all wish we could have been there for you." I touched the now fading red spot on his face. "Especially Ginny," I smiled weakly.
"I know. I'm here now to try and make up for my mistakes. So! No more tears! It's time to try and enjoy ourselves and have a good time." his grin pulled a real laugh from me.
"I agree" I smiled wide. He gave me a side hug and went to the kitchen. Having him here again was all I needed to smile and take one small baby step to healing.
Georges POVThere is something about watching two old friends meet after months of being apart. Knowing I didn't really have friends to reunite with. Well that hurt somehow. I decided to go make sure Ginny was alright. Going to her bedroom I knocked on the door three times.
"Ginny it's me, George. '' I called after I got no reply from the knocks.
"I don't want to talk right now" she called but I could hear the tremble in her voice.
"Please Ginny"
"Fine!" she snapped. So I opened the door. She was sitting on her bed back against some pillows. I came over and sat on the edge of the bed. "I missed him so much, George. He didn't even tell me where he was. Then he has the nerve to show his face here."
"I know you're angry and I won't tell you to calm down. But give yourself time and focus on your own healing. And if it helps..you always got me." She smiled.
"Thank you," Ginny said, "and George?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you. I am here for you too" Ginny wrapped her arms around my neck in a comforting hug.
"Love ya too little sis" I playfully ruffled her hair and she giggled.
"Stop that right this second." she laughed, batting my hands away. I grinned and ruffed it up one more time. At that moment I decided I was going to try my hardest to be happy again. Mum called us down for dinner too so it worked out since my stomach was growling.
Hermione's POVWith a flick of my wand plates landed neatly on the table. Harry and Mrs. Weasley was having a nice chat. It was good to see that she was more forgiving than some. Even Ron didn't want to talk to him then again he wasn't talking to me either. I guess with everything after the war we all were trying to get better and things just didn't feel whole without Harry.
Mrs. Weasley went out of the kitchen to tell everyone that dinner was ready. I gave Harry what I hoped was an encouraging smile because he looked so nervous. George came in and flopped down into a chair that he had slid out with his wand. Mr. Weasely came in as well and took his seat at the head of the table it was soon followed by Ginny who sat beside George. This left three seats on the other side of the table and one beside Ginny. I decided to take that seat. This forced Ron and Harry to sit together. Ron said nothing but simply tucked into his meal. Ms. Weasley busied herself making sure everyone had everything they needed. Mr. Weasley broke the silence.
"Harry, there is a trial for the Malfoy family. You are going to be a part of it right? Heard some wind of it."
"Yes. I was summoned to the ministry. Honestly, I hope that I can bail them out of Azkaban." Ron's head snapped to the side.
"Why? It's the Malfoys we are talking about here." He said.
"They are also the ones who saved my life. I would have died otherwise." Harry said calmly.
"And they are the ones who let Bellatrix torture, Hermione!"
"It's in the past and I am sure they would take that back if they could."
"That's your problem! Always trying to do "the right thing" is not working! You are going to use the fact you are the chosen one to bail criminals out of Azkaban! One small good thing they did doesn't change all the bad things they've done." Ron was yelling now.
"Harry wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for them," I said softly. "He's trying to fix the wounds the war has left on everyone, even the Malfoys." I was trying to soothe him but it only seemed to make him angrier.
"It's not like Harry was here much anyways! Excuse me but I'm not hungry anymore" He shoved roughly from the table with a pop he was gone.
"Well, that was eventful" George snorted and shoved more food in his mouth. Rolling my eyes, I stood up.
"Thank you for dinner Ms. Weasely. I think I'll go to my room now if you don't mind." Ms. Weasley gave me a knowing smile and nodded. She seemed sad by it all but so were we all.
