A/N – Time frame that Optimus and Beth have been away from KSI and Cemetery Wind will be quite a few months. Their friendship has grown quite a bit; it isn't romantic yet, but Optimus struggles with his mixed feelings he is gaining from Beth not understanding them.
Chapter 6
Optimus' holoform watched Beth sleeping in his cot. His spark raced whenever he saw her now. He didn't understand those feelings. It confused him. He tinted his windows. His holoform moved closer toward the blonde female.
Optimus' POV
What is happening to me?
Why do I feel so drawn to her?
Why?
I reached where she was sleeping, and her face was just so... I do not even know the human term for it. I couldn't stop myself; I moved my holoform's hand to her face and just ran it over her face.
Primus, she was so pretty.
I cast my holoform's eyes toward the floor. What was I doing? She would never want my attentions. I was not flesh and blood; I was merely a machine. What was wrong with me? My feelings or whatever I was going through, I had to work this out on my own. I was merely not human and had to accept I would only be her friend, nothing more than that.
I did not have anything like that on Cybertron none of the femmes wanted me. So, why would here be any different? I was made from metal, a war machine, a tired war machine at that.
I started to get up when I felt someone grab the holoform's arm.
"Optimus?" Beth whispered.
I didn't know what to say to her. I had just been touching her face. I frowned and cursed to myself.
She had caught me. What was I supposed to say now?
"Yes, Beth, what is wrong?" I asked as I witnessed her taking the thick blankets off the cot and placing them on the floor.
I was slightly confused then.
"Would it not be more comfortable if you had those items on the cot?" I asked as she laughed.
"You sweet mixed up, bot you," she said.
"I am sure I do not know what you are referring to," I replied, figuring I was saving some of my pride.
She smiled then.
"Lie down with me, Optimus," Beth replied as she held out her hand.
"But..." I started to say.
"Not your human holoform, your real true form," she instructed.
"Why?" I asked.
Silence...
"Because I want you to, isn't that good enough?" Beth asked.
"I am not human..." I whispered.
"So what?" she asked me as I stared down at her hand.
I complied, changing my holoform for her, but I was still uneasy about this. I got onto the floor of the cab with her.
"Why did you want me to do this?" I asked.
She smiled then.
"Why do you think?" she asked me innocently.
"I am sure I do not know, Beth," I answered as she smiled once more.
"You know, for being a leader and Prime, you are so dense at a woman liking you," Beth said as she moved closer and pressed her lips against mine.
Oh, Primus!
