Chapter 7

Beth continued to kiss him while his processors whirled, not understanding why she would even want him. He continuously allowed her to keep kissing him. It felt good to him. All he ever wanted was acceptance and someone to call his own.

Beth stopped the kiss long enough to look him in his optics while her slim fingers ran over every nook and cranny of his metal body. Beth smirked when she got a slight moan from him.

"Found a hot spot, did I?" she asked him in a sassy tone.

He looked at her hunger for something other than kissing hit him, but he tried to keep his aggressive interfacing protocols under control.

But she was making it so slagging hard touching him like that, and he didn't want to scare her with his aggression.

"Beth... Please, I do not want to scare you with aggression from Cybertronian interfacing protocols," Optimus replied as he eyed her.

Beth felt a ping of rejection. It hurt to be rejected by Optimus.

"Sorry," she mumbled as she quickly got to her feet and put the blankets on the cot.

"Beth, I just.." Optimus started to say.

"No, it's fine. I wouldn't want me either I'm the daughter of a killer, and I get it. I get it, just friends," she said as she laid on the cot, giving him her back.

He never saw her tears.

"That was not why," he whispered.

"Let it go, just friends, I get it," Beth replied.

Now, it was Optimus' turn to feel tears run from his saddened bright optics. He did want this human, but he was scared he had never had a femme care, nor had he engaged in interfacing if his team had ever known, not even Ratchet or Ironhide knew.

He just wasn't wanted by the femmes, and now he was, and in all honesty, he was scared to death of messing everything up.

But somehow, he felt like he had fragged it all up anyway; Optimus let his holoform disappear as he started to drive once more. His spark raced with pain. He couldn't seem to do anything right.

"I'm sorry, Beth, please forgive me," Optimus whispered as he continued to drive through the night.

Beth heard him, but she ignored him. She was rejected. She was always rejected because of her father. She thought Optimus was different, but humans burned him too many times; she should have realized that.

Best friends that would be the extent of their relationship, and she could deal with that.

She hoped she could anyway...
