It was well on the sixth day since the kidnapping when Galadriel finally announced it.

"We're getting closer."

Glorfindel frowned "But naneth, this is the entrance to Imlad... Oh my, he's been in Imladris this whole time." he came to the conclusion, paling.

"'Tis no fault of yours ion nin, this human is unpredictable and has left you with no clues or traces to follow at all. His demise will surely be coming, if I have anything to do with it." Celeborn growled.

The 4 elves rode on, followed by the warriors, who were also burning with the same fiery rage towards the human that had caused all this. They could all see how it was affecting Elrond, as he could feel his elfling's pain and fear, and could feel him slowly slipping away.

As they entered the gates of Imladris, they followed Galadriel towards the edge of the valley, away from the city and the Last Homely House.

"We should stop for a brief respite." Galadriel announced as she dismounted, although she did not look too happy about it, wanting nothing than to ride on and find her grandsons, holding them in her arms. But she knew that the warriors needed to rest, to save their strength when they found the cursed human.

As they all dismounted, Celeborn, Galadriel, Glorfindel and Elrond sat a bit farther away from the warriors. Three of them were talking, while Elrond just sat staring into space. Just then, his head snapped up.

"Be quiet! All of you!" he said loudly. All conversations ceased then Elrond seemed to concentrate even more.

"Do you hear that?" Elrond whispered.

All the elves strained their ears and there they heard it, a child's crying.

"Estel!" Elrond breathed with relief. He scrambled towards his horse and mounted then rode fast towards the source of his child's cries. The other elves all did the same.

As they rode towards the location of his son, the cries grew louder and they could make out of what he was saying.

"LAS... LAS... Where are you?" Estel said between sobs and big breaths.

Finally, when they could see him, Elrond, Glorfindel, Celeborn and Galadriel dismounted even before they got very close to him and ran towards the sobbing child.

Estel was red faced, tears streaming down his face, as he kept wandering around searching for his other half and everything.

"Estel!" Elrond cried as he ran towards him. Estel turned around and his face crumpled even more as he saw his father.

"ADA!" he shouted as he ran towards him, then wrapped his arms around his father's neck as Elrond scooped him up and embraced him tightly, pressing kisses to his little dark head.

"Ada the bad man has Las! He's hurt. A lot!" Estel sobbed into his father's neck.

"It's okay ion nin we're going to get him. Do not worry. We will find your brother, and he will be okay. Now go with the warriors..." Elrond started only to get cut off.

"NO! I want to go find Las!" Estel cried.

"Alright alright, but you must ride with the warriors. Is that okay?" Elrond asked, and was met by a nod from the small head.

"I will take him my lord." One of the warriors, Hamian, came forward and held out his arms. Estel's face brightened, if even for a small second. He and Legolas adored Hamian, for he always had hidden treats and surprises for the little twins. When Elrond saw his son's comfort at the warrior, he passed the child to him then mounted again on his horse.

Hamian held Estel as Glorfindel, Galadriel and Celeborn kissed Estel repeatedly, and whispered words of comfort and relief at finding him, then mounted again and they all continued riding.

After a few minutes of riding, Glorfindel pointed out something. "Look! Fresh tracks!" he exclaimed.

The other elves let out soft cried of relief, "Well done my son. Now we should proceed on foot, for the horses will cause too much noise." Celeborn stated, smiling.

"Aye. The 4 of us will go to find Legolas, and we'll take 3 of the warriors with us. The rest should stay and protect Estel, should anything go wrong." Elrond decided.

The warriors placed their hands on their hearts and bowed their heads. "We will protect him with our lives my lord Elrond." Hamian said, while holding Estel.

"No ada! I want to come too!" Estel sobbed as he started struggling to get down from the warrior's arms.

Elrond and Galadriel came closer. "Estel ion nin it is much too dangerous for you to come too. I do not want him to hurt you too." Elrond said.

Estel shook his head vigorously "NO! He will not hurt me. He never hurt me physically, but he hurt Las. That is how he hurt me. I want my brother." he sobbed.

All the elves felt their hearts clench over the apparent anguish of the child for his brother. They all knew how close the twins were. They were one person, one heart and one soul, just in different bodies. Losing Legolas would be devastating to them all, but it would destroy Estel. He would surely follow his brother into Manos's halls.

"And you will get your brother back, I promise. I'll tell you what. Go to sleep now, and when you wake up, Legolas will be right next to you." Elrond soothed.

Estel looked at his through tear filled eyes "Promise?" he asked.

Elrond nodded "I promise." he said, then gestured to his mother to do her thing.

Galadriel placed her hand on her grandson's head and within moments, he was asleep.

She removed her hand and turned, the rage inside her reaching a boiling point.

"Let us be on our way." she said in a low, dangerous voice.

The party delegated to go rescue Legolas nodded and started trekking after the tracks that would hopefully lead them to their beloved little greenleaf.

To be continued...
