Sesshomaru could not get the vision of Rin coming into his office and the expression she made. He never felt so much shame in his life. He makes a rash decision and goes up to Rin's job to try to give her flowers and possibly take her out to lunch.
Sesshomaru walks past the receptionist, not paying any attention to her. The receptionist quickly dials Rin's extension. "Mrs. Taisho, your husband rushed past me and is headed up to your office now".
"Thank you". She slams the phone down and Sesshomaru busts through her office door.
Sesshomaru looks around in curiosity, sniffing the air to make sure she was the only one present. He did not smell another male, so he felt at ease. He was guilty from his actions and therefore thought Rin may take revenge.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Rin says bringing him out of his thoughts. Rin is sitting behind her desk with her arms crossed, glaring at him.
"Rin, I came to see you in hopes that I could take you out for lunch and accept these flowers". He holds them out to her.
Rin takes the flowers and throws them in the trash beside her desk. "You don't get to barge into my office presenting me with gifts, trying to take me out as if things are okay with us. I do not know what planet you are living in, but you were fucking a whore on your desk".
Sesshomaru frowned, thinking he could convince her otherwise.
"You don't get to pick and choose how this marriage will sway. You lost that power when you decided to be a got damn cheater, for a whole year, 3 times a day as your little whore stated".
"Rin please let me make this up to you. I can make things right".
"You didn't have the time before, don't make it now, so please leave my office Sesshomaru".
"Rin, I need to talk to you, you are my wife".
Rin looks up at him, glares at him, and stands up with her palms on her desk. "I was not your wife when you were fucking that whore on your desk. I was not your wife for that whole year. You paid that bitch, then help her get a job. Get the hell out of here; I don't want to see your face!"
"Rin we were not talking to each other anymore, you didn't have time for me. I missed you more than anything, I needed you Rin, not her; I did not want her. I acted out and hoped you would notice but I will admit, I did it the wrong way. I violated you and embarrassed you and this Sesshomaru feels great despair. I did give her money and told her to find another job; I told Jaken to take care of everything, which I regret now".
"Really Jaken? You shouldn't have done shit for her at all Sesshomaru. If she was just a fuck, then she didn't deserve anything".
"All of this was not her fault, it was mine. I used my power and she indulged me".
"You wouldn't be feeling guilty if you never formed the relationship with her in the first place. Now I am here, seeing you take up for her, take her side, basically take care of her, yet you say she means nothing to you. You have poor Jaken taking care of the mess you made, and boy did it get taken care of because the bitch went on the news and exploited you, good job Sesshomaru!"
"You are right I should have never formed the relationship. I needed you Rin and you were not there; I know I shared my thoughts with you, but you ignored them".
"Are you finished because you are being quite boorish. I am not like you Sesshomaru. I understood the dynamic of our relationship changed; we didn't do the same things we use to; I am aware. I didn't go out looking for someone or something that was not you, to fill a void. If anything, I would have come running to you and I did, but I showed up too late".
Her palms that were faced down on her desk, she turns them into fists; her head hangs low. "I was too late. I figured it out too late; on how much I missed you. You were already gone and had a whole relationship behind my back!" She punches the desk and Sesshomaru feels that pain emanating from her.
"I will not give up Rin".
"I filed for separation; I need to be apart from you for a while". She laughs, "We kind of were already, right? I need my time, and whatever happens within that time…" She shakes her head, "I think a divorce would be better; I can't stop the visions".
"Rin I will never sign those papers, you are mine!"
"Now I am yours. You see I don't remember that. I don't think you saw me being yours the other day because if I were, I would have been the one on your desk. Since I was not, you cannot stake that claim. You made your choice, and I am done with this conversation so please leave Sesshomaru".
Sesshomaru growls but turns to leave. Rin could not believe the audacity of him, to come in her office thinking things between them would be all peaches and cream. It was not going to be that easy to get her back and that's if he could.
Sesshomaru gets to his vehicle and hits the steering wheel, "Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!" He roars. What was he thinking? Did he really think he could waltz into her office and think he could just win her back just like that? He has never been in this situation; he thought a couple of sweet words would push her back into his arms. Sesshomaru had been avoiding his father's calls, he decided to pay him a visit.
Sesshomaru arrives at his father's estate. "Sesshomaru, I have been trying to get in contact with you. What has happened my son? There is a woman making threats, trying to extort money saying she is your mistress, and it is owed to her".
"She is my mistress, but no money is owed to her. She is reacting this way because I told her, Jaken would give her money to basically go away. Instead, she runs to the media, I have made a huge mistake!"
"Ughhh Sesshomaru! I cannot believe this. You really sacrificed everything for a temporarily need for relief, that does not stop the problem. What has happened to you and Rin? Rin specifically?"
"We grew apart, well she began to work too much, and the promises she made to this Sesshomaru, she did not fulfill. I spoke my concerns with her, but she ignored them. I felt alone, and the first floozy that made advances at me, I took upon her offer. It just happens to be my Assistant. I feel like a fool. I didn't know it would make Rin hate me as she does now. I went to her office to make up with her, but she will not listen". Sesshomaru looks to his father, nervous as to what he is about to say, his father growls.
"Spit it out Sesshomaru!"
"Rin walked in on me and Sara at the office".
"Seriously son, how careless can you get? Did you want to be found out?"
"Kind of, I truly wanted Rin".
"If you wanted Rin, you would have her. Do not make excuses, I don't care how bad it got".
"We were supposed to be mated father, she abandoned me".
"You are responsible for your own actions son whether you were mated or not. You have control over yourself, no one else but you".
"I realize that now, now that I do not have my wife anymore".
"You have to give her some space, this is all fresh and she doesn't want to be bothered by you right now. I am not saying she will be willing to talk to you later or anything, but right now is not the right time to invade her space".
"I will do anything to get her back. I will do anything she asks of me. I just wish I could express that to her. She was so hurt when I came to her job. She admitted she came to the office to see me, and that is probably why she was dressed like that, to make things better with us. Instead, she walks in seeing me fooling around with Sara. Damn it!"
"You can't demand someone to feel the way you do, to see things your way. They need time to think straight, their thought process is clouded. She has the right to feel the way she does Sesshomaru, leave her alone, and no more pop ups!"
Sesshomaru hated this, after all this time, this situation would be the reason to make them communicate again.
"It makes sense now, why you both never showed up to any of the family functions. I should have asked questions; you would not be in the predicament you are in now". Toga concludes.
Rin gets home from a long day of work. She could not believe Sesshomaru would pop up at her Job unannounced. Rin didn't even get a chance to walk in the door when she was stopped.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Rin Taisho".
"Yes"
"I was sent to deliver this to you".
"You can deliver it back to the sender".
"I am sorry ma'am, that is impossible. I am not allowed to".
The delivery guy thinks about what Mr. Taisho says, "You best make sure she receives this. I don't want to hear she refused it, make sure she accepts it, and it is in her hand, or you will die". He then gulps and chuckles nervously.
Rin knew exactly where it was coming from, it was from Sesshomaru".
She breathes out in aggravation, "Okay, where do I need to sign?"
The delivery guy leaves in relief. Rin thinks the poor guy had to deal with Sesshomaru's wrath.
She opens the gift, and it was a beautiful bracelet, diamond flowers that climb along the leafy vine. How beautiful it was, he knew how much she loved flowers. She couldn't help but think of how thoughtful the gift was, but that would not be enough. She puts the bracelet back in the box and puts it in her jewelry drawer.
"He needs to give me space, so I can be in a place to where I can speak to him, without cursing him out, and where I don't have so much pent-up anger." she says talking to herself as she undressed.
She goes to take her shower and slips on a simple slogan night dress. She turns on the tv to watch a tv show, and then that got boring, she turns the tv off. She lays in the bed surrounded by pillows because the feeling of being alone is really hitting her. Even though she had been sleeping alone for a while now, it was kind of different then. Sesshomaru would frequent around their home, they just didn't have that loving connection anymore. She was cold, she needed that warmth from him.
She was so upset with Sesshomaru. He had an affair for a whole year. They had no intimacy within that period, and a little bit before then. Now that reality is hitting, she really misses their intimacy. The random sexting, romantic dates, flirting, the love making, especially the spontaneous do it anywhere love making.
Rin remembers when Sesshomaru used to run his claws against her skin, and then give her small kisses along those marks.
