Sometimes Mental Health Providers can analyze other people's lives but not their own.
Rin and Sesshomaru were invited to a private event. They had mutual contacts in common, so it was not out of the ordinary for them to be invited. It had been a couple of weeks since the incident at the bowling alley, they will see each other tonight.
Sesshomaru contacted Jaken so he can be the mediator and see if Rin wanted to arrive together or separate.
"Why does he think that we would go together?"
"Lady Rin you are still married to Lord Sesshomaru and it will look good for the both of you".
"I don't know if he has forgotten but we are not on good terms and the world knows that too. They know we've been living separately, so it would not look good coming together. I wouldn't want to do it anyway, I am not with what looks good, I am with what is real".
"I understand…May I make a suggestion my lady?"
Jaken wants to mention marriage counseling and hopefully she will see his point of view.
"As long as it isn't anything silly like you said before".
"Have you thought about going to marriage counseling?"
"No, I have not. I haven't thought about reconciliation at all".
"If anything, just think about it. It doesn't have to be for reconciliation but for communication to get a better understanding, for closure maybe".
"I didn't think about it that way. I have been concentrating on trying to hate him, that I have not been using my skills as a psychologist. I usually encourage my clients to go to marriage counseling for the exact same thing you just said I should go for".
"It is something to think about my lady".
"I know you only want what's best for us, maybe Sesshomaru wants it more, but I appreciate you trying. When there is a separation, something or someone is caught between the two, like you. You really should not be in the middle of this mess. This is Sesshomaru's fault, and he needs to lay in bed he made, be a big boy".
"So will you consider it?"
"Tell the baby I will think about it only if helps me with closure".
"Yes, my lady".
Jaken leaves and Rin calls her stylist so that she can pick out a beautiful gown or get one made for the event. Rin thinks about what Jaken said about her and Sesshomaru showing up together. He just wants to look good for everyone else, to not look like the bad guy. He has only been thinking of himself. When will you think about me Sesshomaru, and what I want?
Rin smirked when she thought of the idea to invite Hitan as her plus one. Sesshomaru would have to watch her from a distance. She would be looking like a bad ass bitch; her arms wrapped around another.
"That is what he deserves. This will be our first outing as a separated couple other. All of the social elites will be there and will see that I have moved on, somewhat. He wouldn't dare act a fool in this setting, too many investors. He already lost some already due to this scandal, he needs to tread lightly". Rin says to herself.
Rin's stylist and makeup artist show up to her house. Rin calls Hitan to see if he was available.
"I know it is last minute, but I would love for you to come with me".
"You are in luck Rin; I am available, and I also have a suit to wear. I can pick you up and we can arrive together if you would like".
"That would be great, I will be ready by 6pm. I will see then".
Rin was so excited; her plan was coming into action. She wasn't trying to play with Hitan's feelings because she wanted to spend time with him anyway. It was also going to be unexpected for a second outing with him, the paparazzi will go insane and so will Sesshomaru. It will make Sesshomaru have a breakdown, not that she wanted him to have one. She wanted to paint the picture as if she has moved on or moving down a path, he no longer is a part of.
They arrive at the event and Hitan was in awe. He could not believe he was attending something so extravagant. Rin informed the person that was hosting the private event that she had a plus one. She didn't know if it was out of sympathy or not, but they allowed him to come. That gave Rin a breath of fresh air, he was the only person she could trust of the opposite sex for now. Rin clung onto him and introduced him to everyone she felt would be respectful of her situation.
Rin and Hitan are sitting at a table, chatting with one another. She can hear the whispers and she can see everyone staring, wondering what Sesshomaru would do when he sees her wrapped up in this boy's arms. The demon community sided with Sesshomaru more of course because it made sense. Demons were known to have multiple partners, but none of those individuals were married to a human. Humans responded to things differently. There were debates on radio and tv shows about who agreed and those who didn't agree with the couple separating.
Sesshomaru arrives and it was like everyone stopped, it even seemed like the music stopped as well. All eyes were on Sesshomaru. Rin knew by how the room was reacting that Sesshomaru was near. Even though she was anticipating Sesshomaru seeing Hitan once again within her presence, she dreaded it as well. She knew he would make a show and that would great for paparazzi or for someone to sell a story.
It was awkward for Sesshomaru because they always arrived together. Sesshomaru knew she was there; he could scent her. He could also smell that stench from that boy that was with her the last time. He had to prepare himself for the night, he wouldn't stay long. He couldn't bear watching her with another. He came alone of course; he didn't want to show anymore disrespect to Rin. He didn't want anyone else anyway, he just wanted her, it was always her. He knew now it was a mistake to think he could find Rin in another.
Sesshomaru did his rounds and Rin acted as if he wasn't there but every now and then he would steal glances to see if she was looking his way. He did well, he kept his composure for the entirety of the night. Hitan was enjoying himself. He thought it would be a lot worse with the two, but it seems as if Sesshomaru was respecting her boundaries.
It killed Sesshomaru not going over to greet her, he had to watch from afar. He had to watch in agony knowing his wife was over there hugged up on another. The way he touched her, walked, and danced with her, the way she smiled at him. He could not help but think that should be him, that is his wife. How could he be a fool; a whole year. He should have kept his dick in his pants, a thought he has beat himself up with over and over again.
Rin thought the night went a lot better than she thought. Hitan took her home and she was once again lost in her thoughts. She kind of wanted Sesshomaru to chase her but he did nothing. She thought it was nice seeing him looking all dapper in his suit, she did miss standing beside him. She was his better half, at least that is what she thought. She laid in her bed with thoughts of confusion, she wanted him but yet hated him.
The next day was business as usual. They both wake up doing their normal routines. Sesshomaru is greeted by Jaken informing him of the news that is spreading about Rin's new beau.
"My lord, usually the events you attend are private, but it seems as if someone is selling a story".
"What are you talking about?"
"They are speaking about Lady Rin's new "friend" they seem to think the reason you did not react because you and he had some words, and that you are "intimidated" my lord".
"Intimidated! He could never compare to this Sesshomaru and Rin knows that".
"Even saying so, the word is still going around".
"Whomever the vermin is they will be exposed. Someone at that party is a leach or it could be the boy, he seems desperate for Rin's attention".
Rin was informed by Yuka, her best friend/employee. "Rin you and Sesshomaru, and Hitan are over the news and blogs. I know you said those events are private, so I am surprised something like that is in the front-page news".
Rin became concerned, she didn't want attention directed to her any more than it already has been. She didn't think someone would go the extra mile. Rin began to think Hitan may have something to do with this, maybe for his 15 minutes of fame. She couldn't risk it; she would have to break things off with Hitan. She liked him and how he made her feel for the short amount of time they knew each other but she did kind of use him last night to prove a point to Sesshomaru.
Rin asks Yuka to step out of her office for a moment, she needed to call Hitan and tell him they will no longer see each other.
"I am very apologetic about getting you dragged into this mess. I do not want you made into a mockery; you do not deserve that. Therefore, I will have to cut ties with you, you were an important part of my growth and I appreciate every word you ever gave, encouraging me".
"It was nice knowing you Rin. I will cherish the days we did spend together, even though very short".
"Many blessings to you".
They hang up the phone and who would have guessed it, Sesshomaru and Rin were right about Hitan.
"Fuck!, I was so close. If I would've fucked her, I would have acted like the condom broke so I could nut all in her, and I would have been tied into that fortune of hers and had all the fame".
"What did Rin say about counseling".
"She said she would be open to it. I think you and my lady's lawyer should communicate about that. At least put the birdie in my lady's lawyers' ear". He winks.
A couple hours later Rin receives a call from her lawyer.
"Good afternoon Mrs. Taisho, I received a call from Mr. Taisho's lawyer. He wants to see if you are willing to go to marriage counseling?"
"Yes, Jaken has spoken to me about this, and I said I would think about it, but I want to speak to my therapist first. Let me get back to you".
