"Aaah there really is nothing in the world that can top a good Korean barbecue together with some soju" Moochi stated while taking some pieces of meat.
"Thats true" Dong-Koo said agreeing. "Bong-yi I must say you outdid yourself this time, the Kimchi is delicious."
Bong-yi smiled "Gomawo oppa"
"Seems you're really able to do a lot more than kicking people" he added with a teasing grin.
"Ya! Do you have a death wish." She glared at him.
"Don't worry Bong-Yi I will give him a deserving punishment" Seul-Ki interrupted.
Both women looked mischievously to Don-Koo, who looked suddenly a bit scared.
"Aish, don't gang up on me." He looked pleading to the other men, but they only laughed.
"Well you deserve it" Seul-Ki teased.
Dong-Koo cheeks began to glow, clearly he had been beaten by the women.
For a moment it became quite.
But then everyone started to laugh, even Dong-Koo.
Chi-Kook was the first to break the silence after everyone started to eat again.
"Dong-koo, Bareum told me there was another fight in the prison?"
"Hmm, oh yeah, there has been a lot of trouble with some prisoners beating up an inmate"
"From what I heard he's someone like Kang Duk-soo, so I don't really have sympathy for him."
He made a quick glance to Bong-Yi, but her face didn't show any signs of discomfort.
"If it was up to me, they can beat him up as much as they want, but the law does not permit it."
"Aish damn the law, dirtbags like that get a far too soft punishment!" Moochi said before drinking another shot of soju."
Dong-koo looked at him "Right, but on the other hand this law is needed for example to protect people who are wrongfully convicted like Shin Sang's father in law Kim Bong-Cheol."
"Well you certainly have a point there" Moochi agreed. "That poor old man, being wrongfully locked up for so many years, sigh… . But at last thanks to our heroine here justice prevailed." Moochi looked at Bong-Yi who blushed.
"By the way Bong-Yi, I heard you've been offered a new job?"
"Oh, yea, how did you know?" She looked at Hong-ju, who looked back with a guilty face.
"Aaah I see, yea I've been offered a job as the main writer for a new show at the tv station in Wonju."
"Oh wow congratulations Bong-Yi, I knew you could do it, hwaiting" Chi-Kook said.
She smiled, "Mamnoon oppa, hwaiting"
While everyone started to congratulate her, she felt Bareum's hand taking hers under the table. She looked at him, he smiled broadly at her.
He still could make her heart flutter so easily. The man who had stolen her heart, who had always been so kind and generous to her despite her initial often cold and sometimes awful behavior towards him.
They were abruptly taking out of their trance by Moochi "Ahem, ya lovebirds!"
"Oh sorry" they both said almost simultaneously, quickly facing away from each other.
"Speaking of lovebirds, ahjussi how are you and Hong-ju doing?" Bong-Yi asked in a way to get back at him.
"Ya, ya, ya, there is nothing between us!" Moochi tried to argue, but nobody believed him.
"Are you sure?" Bong-Yi asked teasing him.
"Ya, what did I tell you!"
Hong-ju bowed her head and whispered to Bong-yi "he's still a bit shy about it, you should have seen him when he asked me out, unrecognisable." They both started to laugh.
"Aish, stop that!" Moochi's face became completely red.
"Well let's have a toast" Moochi announced, trying to distract the attention.
He started to fill the glasses of everyone at the table, except for Bong-Yi who stopped him.
Bareum found it rather strange as normally Bong-Yi always drank soju with them when all the others came over like now, but didn't think further about it, maybe she just didn't feel like drinking alcohol.
He quickly filled some orange juice for her.
Moochi lifted his glass up.
"First on the happy couples here today, that they may have a bright and happy future"
The others also brought their glasses forward.
"Also that our friendship may never end"
"And on our hosts who organized this wonderful gathering"
Everyone enthusiastically clinked their glasses.
Bong-Yi suddenly stood up.
"I've something to announce."
She looked nervously around.
"Euhm…well Bareum and me will have a child..."
"What?! You're pregnant?" Bareum looked shocked, while he took her hands in his.
"Yes I had a pregnancy test and it was positive, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you earlier."
"Wow thats…fantastic" he was able bring out, he took her in his arms and hugged her tightly, tears of happiness streamed down his face.
Everyone started to cheer for this happy news.
The party went on late into the night, celebrating the future child of Bareum and Bong-Yi.
Later that night when everyone went to sleep, Bareum and Bong-Yi were still awake.
Bong-Yi was cuddling into Bareum's arms, her head against his chest, while he was caressing her by going through her beautiful hair with his hand.
"Are you nervous?" he asked.
"A bit, but as long as I have you everything is ok" she said while giving a kiss on his nose.
"After everything, I never thought I would still be blessed which such happiness"
"Me neither he said, so let's enjoy this blessing as much as we can"
He moved his lips to her and they started to kiss, bringing out their emotions.
After some time Bareum started to trail kisses along her body, going down to the most sensitive place.
"Ahh, oppa!…we are not alone" she tried to protest, but he didn't care and soon enough she was lost in it.
When he was done she moved to return him the favor. Bareum needed all his willpower to keep his hands on the bed.
After she released him she moved on top of him and started to ride him.
Bareum laid back and moaned in pleasure.
Suddenly he felt her hands on his neck.
She started to push, strangling him.
Hey what?! He tried to break free, but in some way she had suddenly become really strong.
He looked at her, her eyes that had been full of love, now looked at him with hate.
"It was you, isn't it? Dwi-juh-ra!
"Bong-Yi…"
Then everything became dark.
When he opened his eyes again he was back sitting on his knees, it had stopped raining.
He didn't remember that his dream ended like that. Maybe God wanted to remind him that this was his fate.
How he wished that it had been different…
Maybe in the next life they can be together, when he is born as a normal human being, then he will truly love her.
