Heartbeats
Leaving the office on his lunch hour, he told his secretary to cancel any appointments for remainder of the day. Smiling, she nods, knowing today is his wife's first ultrasound. Like many of the office workers, they love Domyoji Tsukushi. She always delights them when visiting, knowing that their boss always softened when she was around. No question or doubt, he was enamored with her.
Racing to his car, he drove to Tsukushi's appointment, anxious to begin their new journey together. Heading towards the elevator, impatiently waited to reach that level. Finding the ob-gyn's office, he opened the door, eyes meeting hers instantly. Smiling, he sat next to her, gently kissing her hand. She pressed his hand to her face, savoring the warmth. Soon the nurse called her name, looking at one another, they smiled.
After talking with the Doctor, Sonographer's measurements, they determined Tsukushi was approximately 5& ½ weeks along. Looking at each other, thinking the same, their honeymoon, losing their virginity they conceived their first child. Tsukasa's cocky grinned told Tsukushi his arrogant thoughts of his manliness.
The Sonographer printed a picture of the tiny baby and Tsukasa recorded the heartbeat on his phone. Walking out of the building, holding Tsukushi's hand, he said, "It's time we tell your parents…" She visibly cringed, "Your Mother." Nodding in agreement. The pair did not relish this interaction. Domyoji Kaede had put Tsukushi through the wringer, finally conceding to their marriage when she realized her son would never back down from his love and devotion to Tsukushi. Sighing together, they prepared for the storm ahead.
