Mollie got no more then two hours of sleep that night. She couldn't believe she kissed Randy. She felt guilty. She didn't know that Randy didn't get much sleep last night either He couldn't stop thinking about kissing Mollie. It's something he never thought he would get to do. He also felt guilty, as much as he liked her, she was still Nick's girlfriend. At ten o'clock in the morning Mollie went over to Chrissy's. As soon as Chrissy saw her she knew something was wrong.
"Chrissy I don't know what to do." Mollie said in a guilty tone.
"Are you pregnant?"
"No." "Something happened last night." "I went down to the boathouse late last night." "Eventually Randy showed up." "He put his jacket around my shoulders because I was cold and...
"What?"
"We kissed."
"You did?"
"Yes I feel so bad about it." "I liked it." "I love Nick, I do." "Do you think I should tell him?"
"No, not only would it cause a big fight between you and Nick, but it would cause a big fight between Randy and Nick." "Do you want to be with Randy?"
"I want to be with Nick."
"Then you just need to forget about this."
"I know."
Later that evening Mollie called Nick's house hoping Randy would answer.
"Hello?" Randy said.
"Hi." Mollie said.
"Nick's out running errands for our mom."
"I called to talk to you." "Can you meet me?"
"Yeah."
They met in an empty parking lot. Randy got out of his car and into the passenger side of hers.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi."
"I'm sorry about last night."
"Did you tell Nick?"
"No." "I'm not going to."
"Thank you."
"Last night can't happen again."
"It was the booze, that's all." He said not sounding so sure.
"Yeah, that's what it was." She said in the same tone
"I'm glad we straightened this out."
"Me to."
"I'll see you later." He got out of the car. Deep down Mollie knew she was suppressing her feelings for him. Randy got back into his car. He knew that's how it would end up but it still hurt him.
