Jays POV.
Our schedules finally let us get Evan to meet Noah and Lexie.
We decided to take them to the park, have a picnic lunch then go for ice cream.
We are going to meet Evan at the park in case it doesn't go well we can leave separately.
"Okay guys, you're going to meet daddys special friend Evan, today, okay?" I ask and they both nod shyly.
"He's going to love you guys don't worry." I told them.
"He's uncle Kelly's brother so you know he will be cool." I add hoping that would help.
We arrive at the park, and I take the twins out and grab the stuff. When I feel strong arms around my waist and I smile, I look around and face my fiance.
"I thought you could use a hand." he says, taking the picnic basket and the diaper bag from me. "Thanks babe." I say kissing his check, then I take the twins' hands and lead them over to a shady spot under an oak tree.
I then look at Noah and Lexie and tell them "Guys, this is Evan, Evan this is Noah and Lexie." I introduce the three, Lexie is taken with him as soon as he gets on their level, he puts on that cute voice he has for kids and says. "Hey, guys, I've heard so much about you two." He says then he notices Lexie is wearing an overalls and a purple shirt and Noah is wearing a Spiderman t-shirt and matching shorts.
"I love what you guys are wearing, I love spiderman too little dude." He says to Noah and then whispers to Lexie and says. "I love the color purple too." She giggles as she throws her arms around his neck, taking us both by surprise. "Oooof'' he says at the impact and then hugs her back. Next thing we know Noah is hugging him too, then Lexie comes over to me and whispers and yells to me "Like dada." She makes us both chuckle and I say "Good I'm glad, princess."
"Let's sit and eat." I say and take the blanket I brought, and spread it out.
"So I was talking to Jill." I told Evan."Oh?" he says. "She's offered for us to get married at the 1914 club, this weekend when the cubs is playing she said we can have more than 15 people this time, free admission for everyone, and we can go before anybody starts getting there to perform the ceremony, that is if you want, I know it's soon, but I thought it be perfect were its where we had our first date this time.'' I say rambling and he chuckles at me.
"I love the idea, I think it fits us perfectly." He tells me then kisses my cheek.
"I'm glad you like the idea, so I thought we'd invite 51, intelligence, Trudy, Will and Connor, and Katie?" I ask
"Sounds good." he says as he takes a bite of the sub I made for us.
"I will call Bobby to let him know that we will live stream it if they can't make it." Evan says with a look on his face hoping they will come.
"Okay, so Will is going to be my best man." I told him.
"Yeah Kelly will be mine." He says.
"Okay, the twins are going to be there too, if that's okay." i say
"I wouldn't have it anyother way." he says watching them eat animal crackers.
"Good I'm glad." I say. "So I need you to go do something with me, later this afternoon, Kelly has offered to watch the twins, so we have the evening out." I tell Evan.
"Okay, what are we going to do?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm going to get a tattoo, we can grab some dinner then go to Molly's." I say nonchalantly.
"You're getting a tattoo?" He asks and I nod.
"What of and where?" Evan asks.
"You'll see." I simply say and he sighs at me, making me chuckle.
Lexie comes over to Evan and sits on his lap "firefighter like uncle." She says.
"I am, like Kelly and my dad." Evan tells lexie.
"Wooow, you superheroes." The little girl says and we both chuckle.
"I think he is too, princess." I say looking directly in Evans' eyes.
"Well thank you, but your daddy is the real hero." Evan says, making me blush.
"Thank you, before you play we have a question for you. Would you be happy if Evan lived with us?" I ask the twins and they look at Evan then to each other and nod while hugging Evan. "I think that's a yes." He says smiling "Ok thank you why don't you play remember if you can't see me I can't see you." I told them as they ran off.
"We will have to get on the ball with finding a house." I tell Evan who nods and then says "I can call Matt now and put him on speaker, if you want me too." Evan says and I nod.
So he dials Matt's number then hits the speaker.
Matt: Hey Evan what's up.
Evan: Hey Matt you're on speaker, Jays here, we were wondering if you knew of any houses that have at least 4 bedrooms 3 baths, a yard and is in a good school district?
At that moment when Evan mentioned school districts I loved him even more, he's always thinking about the twins.
Matt: There's actually one that's a couple of blocks over from us and is also pretty close to Eddie's new house as well that's up for sale, it's 4 bedrooms then two extra down in the finished basement, it would be perfect if you'd ever want to extend your family. It needs some new paint, but other than that it's ready. I can give you guys the info if you want.
Me: That would be great thanks man.
Matt: No problem. I got to go Lizzie just made a mess with paint, I gotta clean her up before Shay has a fit.
Evan and I chuckle then say our goodbyes and hang up.
"That'd be perfect, if we could live near Eddie and Kelly and Matt." Evan says. "Yea and will and Connor don't live too far from that neighborhood either." I say
"Awesome!" Evan says as we watch the twins play.
"I love this, spending an afternoon with you and our kids." I tell him
"Our?" Evan says as he looks at me shocked.
"Of course, I was thinking maybe you can adopt the twins now that we are getting married, I told Hank he can pull strings to get a judge to sign off as soon as you're ready." I tell Evan as I rub my thumb over his knuckles.
"I want to if I could right now I would." He says kissing my cheek.
"Really?" I ask and he nods.
"Okay I'll talk to Hank." I tell him who nods.
Eddies POV:
Sylvie is on her way over to meet Chris for the first time, and I'm nervous that something will go wrong.
"Dad, relax." Chris tells me as I fluff the throw pillows for the millionth time.
"Okay bud." I told him, as I ruffled his hair.
"You are ok with this right because if you're not I can let Sylvie know and she's happy to wait." I asked again just to be sure I want Chris to know that he will always come first.
"Yeah dad I'm fine you. I also know to tell you if I ever feel uncomfortable and I can also talk to Buck." Just as Chris answers there's a knock on the door, and I take a deep breath in, and go get the door.
"Hi." I say as I open the door, she's dressed in shorts and a red tank top, it's simple yet gorgeous on her.
"You look amazing." I tell her and she chuckles, then says. "Thanks, so do you.
I'm just wearing a grey henley with tan cargo shorts.
"Thanks, come on in." I said and led her to the living room. "Would you like a beer?" I ask and she nods, I grab two beers and a juice box out of the fridge then head back to Sylvie then we go to the living room where Chris is.
"Chris, buddy, this is Sylvie Brett, my girlfriend. Sylvie, this is my son Christopher." I say and Sylvie smiles at me.
"Hi." They both say at the same time making them both giggle, man I love her giggle.
"How are you liking Chicago so far Chris?" Sylvie asks as she sits down on the floor next to him.
"It's cool so far, dad hasn't taken me to any sports event yet which sucks.'' Chris says dramatically which makes Sylvie and I chuckle. "Buck and Kelly got me a jersey for the cub with my name and dad's number on it, they also got one for dad too." Chris continued once you get him talking he doesn't stop.
"Well, I'm sure your dad will take you soon." Sylvie says. "Are you a firefighter like dad, and Buck?" Chris asks and Sylvie looks at me when he says Buck instead of Evan.
"He means Evan. When we first met he told Chris only his friends call him Buck." I tell her and she nods. "I'm not a firefighter, I'm just a Paramedic." Sylvie tells Chris.
"So just like Hen and Shay then." Chris says trying to show he knows what it is. "Yeah you know Shay is my partner in the ambulance, maybe soon you can come and have a look."
Watching the two interact I was able to relax and just enjoy myself knowing Chris was ok.
"That would be so cool, dad can I?" Chris asks excitedly about going to 51.
"I'll have to clear it with Boden and Buck but I think it would be okay." I told him hoping I was right.
"Boden wont mind, get Gail to bring him by next shift if you want, and it'll be fine, Boden never says no to kids." Sylvie says and Chris is bouncy on the spot, I chuckle and say "Okay I'll let Gail know." I say, Chris is more excited than I've seen him in a long time. Seeing as Gail is Chris' new career I will ask her first.
Sylvie stays for dinner and then we watch a movie with Chris, as she helps clean up the dishes I tell her "Thanks for this, I know it's not your typical date, but I appreciate you being cool with spending time with Chris." I told her.
"It's my pleasure he's a great kid Eddie, you've done good with him, I'm happy to spend time with you both." she says then kisses me tenderly.
Jays POV:
After we drop the kids off with Kelly, we talk to Hank and he's going to rush the process of even adopting the kids.
Now we are just arriving at a tattoo shop.
"Are you going to tell me what you're getting now?" Evan asks and I shake my head with a smile then say.
"It's a surprise babe." We get out and I take his hand and lead him into the tattoo shop where a friend of mine from the rangers works.
"Jay!" Mark says as he greets me.
"Hey, man, this is my fiance Evan Severide, Evan this is a good friend from the Rangers Mark." I say as I introduce the two.
"Nice to meet you man, I've heard alot about you from our time in the Rangers." Mark says, shaking Evans hand.
"I hope it's good stuff." Evan says shaking the man's hand
"Only good stuff." Mark says "I got the design done like you asked, here it is."
He shows us the black and white design of Evans badge it says "Chicago Fire Department Evan Severide-Halstead"
"Oh Jay, you're getting my badge tattooed on you?" Evan asks and I nod with a big smile on my face.
"You got my dog tags tattooed on you, so I'm getting your badge in the same place, that way we always know where home is." I say shrugging my shoulders.
"Babe that's beautiful." He kisses me sweetly.
"I want to get Lexies and Noah's name tattooed on me, and I want a ring tattoo on my ring finger so that way everyone will also know I'm yours." Evan says and I smile. "Okay Mark can you get the three done tonight?" I ask "Sure, my wife is a tattoo artist that works here too, she can do Evans and I'll do yours." He says and Evan and I both nod.
"Sounds good." We say in unison.
We both get into chairs and get our tattoos done.
Evan gets two dalmatian puppies one with a fire hat and the other with an army helmet, with Noah and Lexies name under them, then he gets his wedding band on his ring finger, I also get a wedding band on my finger under my ring, just so if there's ever a time i can't wear my ring, I still have it.
I got two little elephants for the twins and their names under them, it was long overdue.
We pay then head out.
"I love you so much." Evan tells me
"I love you very much too, thanks for getting the kids tattooed on you."
"No problem, I love them so much already, you need to know that." Evan says and I nod. "I know, which makes me love you even more."
