"No way was I staying put while that rug wasn't paying attention. So I got out of Dodge, so to speak."

"Meemaw always warned me never to trust a redhead wearing glasses. She says they're snakes in disguise. Or maybe it's because she didn't like Ma too much."

"Man, never thought I'd see that big lug get so heated up like a monster truck rally. I wonder why."

"I ain't a brainiac like Greg, but I ain't stupid, neither! I need him in the finale with me so it'd be easier for me to win. As soon as I win the million, the first thing I'll do is get Sugar a fancy tiara that says 'The Best'! Okay, so I'm not too original. Go ahead and slap me with barbecue sauce!"

He was laughing. "He said boobies!"

Confessional: Austin [episode 11, confessional 16]

He was tying a bandage around his nose. "Ain't my first time I've dealt with a nosebleed. One time, I got one when I tried to mount a horse funny." The scene flashed back to a horse that was eating. Austin jumped off a barn roof and landed at the horse's feet. "Uh, howdy there," he meekly said. The horse kicked him away.

"The lesson is to never jump off a barn roof to get on a horse. Especially horses named Agonizing Pain. I can see why Uncle Billy Bob called him that."

"I feel like I'm carrying that Greg guy through this. But I'm gonna keep my word and help out a little. Besides, he's the only one I have a chance against in the finale. We gotta team up so we can get rid of the tough competition. Then, winning that million dollars will be a snap."

"I don't get the fussin' Greg made. My Pa said that farts are just belches that come out of the honky-tonk. And I'm a champion belcher. I even won the gold trophy for the past six years." He burped, making the camera lens crack. "Pardon me."

"I could just grab that win, but I made a deal with that wimp, and I'm gonna keep it. I just hope my aim's good."

Confessional: Austin [episode 12, confessional 20]

"I'm in the Final Three! And I'll win it, too! But I'm not sure why Greg is jumpier than the time I ate that habanero pepper. Probably 'cause he might be scared of a repeat of season one's Final Three. And that's not likely. Uh, right?"

"It's not about my strengths as it's Helga's weaknesses. I got this in the bag."

"One year, I took a job to be a rodeo clown to try and earn some money to get new boots. And, boy, was it hard work! I had to jump the fence a few times before that walking rib-eye gouged me with its horns! I got the money, got the boots, and I became a champion jumper. Besides, hurdles was the only thing I could think of that can stop Helga. I think she won't be able to keep up with me."

"I'm bummed that I didn't win my own challenge, but I got a bunch of honey out of it." He ate a glob of honey. "So worth the hornet stings!"

"Death by pine?! I don't wanna die like that! If I was gonna go out, I want it to be in a blaze of glory like the cowboys back in the Wild West!"

"I don't know much about rock music. I mean, how can rocks play a guitar? But I'll try my best."

"Bland? Well, I just don't do classy."

Another chapter finished! Okay, another OC that'll be tricky to summarize: you could consider Austin to be sort of a minor antagonist here. I mean, he has the same attitude for Destiny as canon Sugar does for Ella. But unlike Sugar, Austin does have some redeeming qualities. He eventually grows out of his hatred and warns Greg not to make the same mistake he did. He's also a man of his word, as best shown in chapter 11. He's also supportive of true love, such as in the last chapter, where he says Rodney and Helga's 'weird love' was beautiful. He's a jerk, but you can eventually see the good side to him.
