A new semester begins at Monster High. In the Mad Science lab, Jackson Jekyll is bent over tubes and beakers glowing with different chemicals. This year will be the one he becomes the dominant personality...permanently. But is that was what Jackson really needs? And what happens when Draculaura accidentally takes a sip? (screenplay format)

ACT II

Scene 9: Creepateria

Lunchtime

(Pan across the Creepateria. JACKSON is sitting at a table with ABBEY. He still has fiery hiccups. Seeing this, ABBEY makes him a large snow cone. He takes it gratefully.)

DRACULAURA sits at a table by herself, CLAWD approaching with a tray full of fruits and vegetables.

CLAWD:

Eat up, Draculaura, you're gonna need your strength today. And don't worry, I already ate before you got here.

(He places the tray in front of her. Her eye is caught by the red tomatoes. SPECTRA's face covered in red jelly flashes before her eyes)

CLAWD:

Are you okay?

DRACULAURA:

(playing it off)

Oh, yes, of course! Just had a long night, I guess.

(she picks up a tomato.)

CLAWD:

Oh, good. Have you been to the nurse to get checked out?

DRACULAURA absentmindedly pierces the tomato with her fangs, eagerly drinking it up.

CLAWD:

Uh…and since when do you eat tomatoes like that?

DRACULAURA:

(seeing the tomato husk in her hand)

Oh, oops!

(she throws it over her shoulder, laughing nervously)

DRACULAURA:

You know what, it's probably just stress. I haven't started on any preparations for the Vampire's Ball, and my father hasn't called me back from Antarctica yet…

(she trails off, staring at the tomatoes.)

CLAWD:

I know how much you hate sleeping in an empty tomb.

DRACULAURA:

I know, that probably has affected me too. Ugh, why couldn't my father just keep his promise?

(she bangs her fist on the table, a little harder than she means to.)

CLAWD:

Draculaura….

DRACULAURA:
(sighs)

I'm sorry. It's just…

(Behind Clawd, VENUS, ROCHELLE, and ROBECCA enter the Creepateria and approach their table)

VENUS:

Hey, Draculaura! Eating healthy, I see.

DRACULAURA:

(smiling politely)

Heh, heh…yep!

VENUS:

The Ghouls told us about your father being out of town.

DRACULAURA:

Oh?

ROBECCA:

We thought it would be oh so kind of you to join us for a slumber party!

DRACULAURA:

(excited)

A slumber party?

CLAWD:

Whoa, this is great! Now you don't have to sleep alone!

A few tables back, JACKSON beings to scream. ABBEY, GHOULIA, and HEATH look on as he transforms into an exhausted looking HOLT.

HEATH:

Whoa! What happened to Jackson?

HOLT:

(panting, exhausted)

Been trying…to break outta that normie…for hours….

GHOULIA:

(moans in surprise)

HEATH:

Ghoulia's right.

(He puts HOLT's arm around his shoulder.)

Come on, let's take this goof to the nurse's office.

ROBECCA, ROCHELLE, VENUS, CLAWD, and DRACULAURA all look at each other, concerned.

Scene 10: Nurse's office

[HOLT, ABBEY, HEATH, CLAWD, DRACULAURA, ROBECCA, and VENUS are crowded inside the tiny office. The School Nurse is a simulacrum with blue skin, orange eyes, and parallel vertical stictches down her face.]

NURSE:

Alright, everybody out, unless you're afflicted!

(Everyone looks disappointed as they turn to leave.)

NURSE:

You—

(she stops Heath)

and you—

(she grabs Draculaura) stay.

HOLT is barely conscious, sitting up on an examination table. THE NURSE begins examining him, shining a light into his eyes.

NURSE:

You're the boy's cousin, right?

HEATH:

Yes, ma'am.

NURSE:

(continuing examination on HOLT)

Fire elemental, right?

She sits back on her stool, wheeling around to put on some gloves.

Using a tongue depressor, she looks into Holt's mouth.

HEATH:

That's right.

HOLT breathes heavily into the NURSE's face. She scrunches up her nose.

NURSE:

Ah, the smell of scorched earth.

She sits back on her stool, removing the gloves.

NURSE:

I'll keep him here for observation.

(to HEATH)

Write down your Aunt and Uncle's numbers for me, will you?

HEATH:

Cheerily, with hearts in his eyes:

Yes, ma'am!

He grabs a pen and a pad of sticky notes and starts to write. The NURSE turns her attention to DRACULAURA.

NURSE:

And don't think I forgot about you.

DRACULAURA:

Eep!

NURSE:

I heard you took a pretty gnarly spill down the stairs yesterday.

DRACULAURA:

It…it's nothing! Just felt a little dizzy, that's all.

The NURSE moves HOLT to lie down on a bed to sleep. DRACULAURA is now sitting on the examination table. The NURSE shines lights into her eyes, checks her nose, and mouth.

NURSE:

Everything looks normal…but you stay on that diet, like I told you.

DRACULAURA:

Sorry….

NURSE:

You know, for a vampire, I've never seen such a fear of blood!

DRACULAURA:

B-Blood…?

(Her face turns green.)

NURSE:

Listen, I'm not going to force you to do anything you don't want to do. But with an iron deficiency as severe as yours, I want to prescribe you a visit to the counselor.

DRACULAURA:

Huh?

NURSE:

Before the end of the week, Draculaura. Promise me.

DRACULAURA:

(reluctantly)

…I promise.

(The NURSE scribbles on a piece of paper and hands it to DRACULAURA.)

NURSE:

Good. Now, get outta here, 'cause this—

(she gestures to HOLT writhing on his cot)

-isn't gonna be pretty. Know any good contemporary classical composers?

DRACULAURA:

Huh?

(she stares down at the note, lost in thought)

[camera focuses on the note as the scene transitions.]

Scene 11:

SKRM Practice Arena (empty)

ROBECCA:

You alright, Draculaura?

(DRACULAURA snaps out of her thoughts and looks up from the note.)

DRACULAURA:

Sorry, what were we talking about?

(DRACULAURA stops walking with ROBECCA, who faces her politely. In the background, GHOULIA can be seen looking for something.)

ROBECCA:

I was saying, while Ghoulia's done a bang-upo job on repairing me, without my father around, many of my assets will need to be replaced in way a that diverges from my original blueprints.

DRACULAURA:

Oh…right.

ROBECCA:

We're looking for any other pieces that we might have missed from my..err..accident.

GHOULIA:

(moans at DRACULAURA)

DRACULAURA:

(sighs) Honestly, I don't know. I could try to look around my father's office to see if he has anything from when Robecca was created.

GHOULIA:

(questioning moan)

ROBECCA:

She's right! Maybe he remembers something from working with my father!

DRACULAURA:

I wish, it's been completely impossible reaching his since that blizzard hit Antarctica. I'm not even sure if he's OK…

ROBECCA:

(putting a hand on her shoulder)

I know how you feel.

[ROCHELLE and OPERETTA skate out of the maze to meet them near the finish line.)

OPERETTA:

Howdy, Draculaura! I heard you were having a sleepover in the dorms tonight.

ROCHELLE:

(to DRACULAURA)

Don't worry, I got it cleared with Bloodgood first thing this morning.

[LAGOONA and VENUS skate up behind them. It is clear that LAGOONA is helping VENUS get accustomed to skating. They are giggling, focusing on each other before noticing the group.]

LAGOONA:

(straightening up quickly)

Oh, hi, everyone!

VENUS:

Draculaura! Ready for our sleepover tonight?

DRACULAURA:

Yes, ghoul, I am SO excited!

VENUS:

Do you have everything?

DRACULAURA:
Of course! I make sure to keep at least 4 days of Fearleading Camp supplies in my locker!

OPERETTA:

Whew! Now that's dedication to the sport! Y'all are gonna have so much fun—just remember to come swing by the catacombs sometime, y'hear?

ROCHELLE:

Please, remember, it is still a school night!

(Everyone but ROCHELLE laughs.)

ROBECCA:

Don't worry, everything's in tip-top shape! It's be like sleeping in your own bed.

Scene 12:

Jekyll-Hyde household;

Jackson's Room

We see a shot of Jackson's room through the fourth wall. There is a plaid yellow duvet on the bed, a yin-yang carpet, and emo band posters. CROSSFADE the CHAMELEON's enclosure is lit stylishly with blue and green lights. A black FELIX the CAT clock ticks away on the wall. JACKSON opens the door and enters.

MRS. JEKYLL:

(heard offscreen)

Jackson, I'm off to the hospital! Leftovers are in the fridge!

JACKSON:

(calling down)

Yes, Mom!

MRS. JEKYLL:

Make sure Holt eats something, too!

We hear the front door open and close.

JACKSON:

Same stomach, Mom…

JACKSON slams the door and leans against it. He puts his shoulder bag over the back of his desk chair and sits down.

[BEV: We see a lined notebook filled with chemical formulas and complicated equations.

Medium shot of JACKSON sitting at his desk. He is frustrated. He crumples up a piece of notebook paper and throws it in the wastebasket. His eyes find a strange lightswitch on the wall. We can see the Frankenstein-like switch is set to "JACKSON." He stares at it, frowning. Reluctantly, he stands up and crosses the room. Eventually, he pulls the switch.

The switch is now set to "HOLT." JACKSON cringes as the room changes. The bed flips over to reveal another with a black and white cover. Panels on the wall flip over revealing posters for EDM artists and popular DJs. CROSSFADE's lighting turns from green and blue to orange and red. Jackson's desk disappears and is replaced with a stereo and turntables, which immediately starts playing music.

JACKSON:

Agh!

JACKSON covers his ears and runs to turn the music off. He grabs the volume knobs and turns it all the way down.

JACKSON:

(relieved)

Whew!

JACKSON looks around at the changes the room.

JACKSON:

Ugh!

(He turns around and turns off the stereo.)

JACKSON:

(watching the lights and colors from HOLT's display fade)

Why do you make it so hard for me to know you, Holt?

JACKSON walks around the room. He picks up a photo he's never seen before, one picturing Holt standing with his mom and dad. He puts it down and looks at the walls, and moves to sit on the bed. He notices a black and white composition book on the nightstand. The cover reads "HOLT HYDE." He hesitates before opening it.

Scene 13:

Monster High: Evening

The sun is setting on Monster High.

DRACULAURA is wearing the pajamas ROCHELLE made for her, snuggling into a comfortable looking sleeping bag.

VENUS:

Are you comfortable?

DRACULAURA:

Mm-hmm!

Outside, storm clouds are gathering again. A low rumbling is heard….

Meanwhile, at the Jekyll house…

(JACKSON has fallen asleep studying Holt's Diary.)

JACKSON AND HOLT'S iCOFFIN:

Do it together, we are a fusion…

JACKSON:

Hello?

CLAWD:

Holt!

JACKSON:

No, it's Jackson.

CLAWD:

W-whatever, I needed to talk to you anyway! You remember that crazy contraption you had set up in the Mad Science classroom?

JACKSON:

(looking at a photo of Holt and his parents)

Yeah… it's an experiment of mine.

CLAWD:

What exactly was in that potion that it makes?

JACKSON:

Huh? How do you know about that?

CLAWD:

I think some got on Draculaura right before she fell last night, and, well, today, she was acting…different.

JACKSON:

(sitting up, adjusting his glasses)

Different how? Nevermind that—where is she now?

CLAWD:

(panicked, stammering)

She's at Monster High!

(JACKSON looks outside his window, where he can see Dracula's empty mansion. Thunder claps and lightning flashes in the sky. He starts to breathe heavily.)

JACKSON:

It's fine. It's probably fine.

CLAWD:

What's going on, Jackson?

JACKSON:

(his stress is triggering a transformation)

It's fine. I'll-Ill meet you there.

(he drops the phone, and the call with CLAWD ends.)

Thunder claps, and rain starts to fall.

JACKSON:

Aaaaaaugh!

(He is overcome with waves of flames washing over his body. JACKSON and HOLT are flashing between each other.)

HOLT:

Aaaaah!

JACKSON:

Aaaaah!

JACKSON and HOLT:

(overlapping)

(screaming)

Scene 14:

The Wolf Den

Clawdeen's Room

CLAWDEEN, FRANKIE, and CLEO are sitting on the rug.

CLAWDEEN:

Did Draculaura seem a little…despondent today at Fear practice?

CLEO:

Totally. She was dropping moves left and right!

CLAWDEEN:

It's not her fault, Cleo. My brother says she had a serious spill on the stairs yesterday.

FRANKIE:

Not to mention her dad having to spend another six months in Antarctica! If I had to spend that kind of time away from my parents, I'd freak!

CLEO:

Oh, you're right. Maybe I was too hard on her.

FRANKIE:

Maybe we should have asked Bloodgood if we could spend the night, too…

CLAWDEEN:

I don't know. I don't know what they did to her down there, but she reeked of sulfur!

[a loud banging is heard on Clawdeen's door. We see that it is covered in locks and scratchmarks. The ghouls startle at the noise.]

CLAWD:

CLAWDEEN!

CLAWDEEN:

Ugh, Clawd, what do you want?

CLAWD:

It's Draculaura! I think she's in trouble!

Monster High Dorms

Thunder claps and lightning flashes. DRACULAURA is tossing and turning in her sleep. The other ghouls are fast asleep.

Crack! Closeup on DRACULAURA. She's whimpering softly in her sleep.

Flash! A heartbelt pounds over a shot of a mouse in a field.

Crack! We see that she's sweating the glowing liquid again.

Flash! Heartbeat. Shot of an owl turning its head all the way around to look into the camera.

Clawdeen's Room

CLAWDEEN:

What do you mean?

Jackson/Holt's Room

JACKSON knocks things off of Holt's nightstand. He stumbles around the room, flames making their way up his body as he turns into Holt, sweating neon yellow sweat. HOLT comes to life at last, but there's something extra manic about him. His hair is a brighter, bigger flame than usual; his eyes are spiralling. He cackles as he stumbles comically towards the stereo and turns it on. He is out of control and he knows it. He turns the volume all the way up.

The stereo clicks to life.

TURN OFF THE LIGHT by KIM PETRAS beings to play.

Scene 15: Turn Off The Light

Monster High: Outside shots

[LYRICS]

Midnight / Under moonlight / Chills down your spine / Fear in your eyes

Shot of empty halls of Monster high; Empty pool, Empty graveyard. Clouds gather in the sky.

Dorm Room

[LYRICS]

Feeling malicious / Know you like it vicious /All your dirty wishes / We were made to do it

(Shot of full moon in the window. Thunders clouds gather around it. Lightning flashes. DRACULAURA's eyes snap open. Her pupils become slits.)

[LYRICS]

Come on

Pan down from DORMS to HW where Ghoulia is asleep at a desk, surrounded by Hexiciah's notes.

Hexiciah's Workshop

[LYRICS]

Are you curious enough to taste it?

Behind GHOULIA: Slow zoom in on the Time Portal crackling with electricity.

[LYRICS]

To taste it?

Wind is causing the sheet draped over the Time Portal to move, lightning still gently pulsing around it.

Clawdeen's Room

[LYRICS]

If you're looking for a fright / And you wanna do it right

CLAWD stands in the open doorway, iCoffin in hand, looking distressed.

CLAWDEEN and the GHOULS stare back at him. CLAWDEEN is gripping the doorframe.

Outside Monster High

[LYRICS]

C'mon, turn off the light / C'mon, turn off the light

Shot of rain pounding on the ground. Shot of rain pounding on the windows.

Dorm Room

[LYRICS]

If you wanna take a bite / Wanna see the dark side

DRACULAURA tosses and turns in her sleeping bag. Her eyes are squeezed shut. Her fangs grow. She is sweating the yellow potion.

[LYRICS]

C'mon, turn off the light

Clouds move over the moon.

[LYRICS]

C'mon, turn off the light

The moon is now eclipsed by clouds.

[LYRICS]

Hot stuff, know you like it rough

A beating heart is overlayed over Draculaura's face.

[LYRICS]

When I put it on ya, you'll never get enough

She closes her eyes, trying to locate the source of the sound. She sniffs the air.

Outside Monster High

[LYRICS]

Feeling the pressure

Holt's flaming leg can be seen stepping onto MH grounds. The rain evaporates against the fire.

[LYRICS]

Pain turns into pleasure

HOLT leans against a tree, exhausted and not well.

[LYRICS]

Ooh, I'm gonna get ya, Ooh, I'm gonna get ya

HOLT hobbles towards MH. Lightning flashes overhead.

Dorm Room

[LYRICS]

Come on

DRACULAURA opens her red eyes. DRACULAURA looks to her left at VENUS, asleep in bed.

[LYRICS]

Are you curious enough to taste it?

Phantom vines can be seen around her pairing with SFX of plants growing. DRACULAURA looks to ROCHELLE.

[LYRICS]

To taste it?

She is overlayed by cracks in stone. The only thing that can be heard is her stone limb rubbing together as she moves a little in her sleep.

Clawdeen's Room

[LYRICS]

If you're lookin' for a fright

CLAWD, FRANKIE, CLAWDEEN, and CLEO are huddling around a glowing laptop screen.

[LYRICS]

And you wanna do it right

[laptop] an old monster newspaper bears the headline 'THE STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE"

Monster High

[LYRICS]

C'mon, turn off the light, C'mon, turn off the light

[long shot] DRACULAURA is at the end of a hallway.

[closer full shot] Lightning flashes and we see DRACULAURA's jagged appearance.

Clawdeen's Room

[LYRICS]

If you're lookin' for a fright

[laptop] Diagrams of a human body (JEKYLL) and a monster body (HYDE).

[LYRICS]

Wanna see the dark side

CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, FRANKIE, and CLEO stare intently at the screen.

[LYRICS]

C'mon, turn off the light, C'mon, turn off the light

[showing a picture of chemical formulas from DR JEKYLL's journal]

[showing a page dedicated to "Vampire's Blood"]

[INSTRUMENTAL/VOCALIZING]

FRANKIE:

No way…! If Draculaura drank Vampire's Blood…

CLAWDEEN:

Her vampire powers could be extra sensitive…and extra powerful.

CLAWD:

So that's why she drained a tomato so easily in the creepateria today!

CLEO:

This is awful! We need to help Draculaura!

CLAWD:

She's at Monster High. Jackson's heading there now!

FRANKIE:

(packing her research, buzzing with the electricity in the air)

What are we waiting around for? Let's go!

Mad Science Lab

(JACKSON is standing in the open doorway, dripping wet. Luckily, DRACULAURA had forgotten to lock up after she left. Flames are trying to form on his body, but the rain causes them to go out each time.)

JACKSON:

(struggling towards the table with his chemistry equipment)

Gotta…find…an antidote…!

JACKSON reaches the table and begins blending chemicals, panicked. Rain pounds at the windows.

Monster High:

Hallway

[LYRICS]

[Elvira:]

Only in the darkness will you find your true self

DRACULAURA walks down the hall, her hand trailing on the wall behind her…

Mad Science Room

Howl at the moon to awaken the spell

JACKSON drips a chemical into a solution, which creates a smoke cloud.

Street

One cannot judge what the eye cannot see

CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, CLEO, and FRANKIE are piled into the Wolf Family station wagon. CLAWD is at the wheel. CLAWDEEN is clearly backseat driving.

Hexiciah's Workshop

Outside the realm of humanity

GHOULIA's iCoffin buzzes/ lights up. She opens her eyes sleepily.

Monster High:

Hallway

Embrace your fear, don't dare to run

DRACULAURA closes her eyes, sniffing the air. The heart beating motif is overlaid onscreen.

Only then will you be what you're meant to become

A silhouetted figure moves past the end of the hall…

DRACULAURA smiles menacingly.

Monster High:

Outside

[LYRICS]

If you're looking for a fright

CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, CLEO, and FRANKIE arrive at Monster High and stand in front of the doors

Flash of lightning.

[LYRICS]

And you wanna do it right

Monster High front doors. One of them is already open.

Monster High:

Hallway

[LYRICS]

Come on, turn off the light

A shadow passes over a row of lockers.

Come on, turn off the light

DRACULAURA run to the end of the hall, looking to the left. At the end of that hallway, a shadow moves again.

[VOCALIZING]

Monster High:

Front Doorway

DRACULAURA runs off down the hallway. CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, FRANKIE, and CLEO appear in the doorway, opening the other door.

CLAWD:

It has to be Jackson. He said he's meet us here!

FRANKIE:

But are we meeting Jackson, or Holt?

CLAWDEEN:

Look!

(pointing to a trail of wet footprints)

A clanging sound can be heard offscreen.

FRANKIE:

What was that?

CLAWDEEN:

Clawd, you go look for Jackson. Cleo, Frankie, you're with me.

CLEO and FRANKIE:

Hup!

They salute. Frankie is holding a rolled-up piece of parchment from their research.

CLAWD:

Okay, be careful!

(he carefully runs off in the direction of the footprints.)

Lightning flashes.

Mad Science Room

JACKSON:

(struggling)

It has to be right… it just has to be right!

(The beaker he's holding is overflowing with fizz onto his hand.)

JACKSON:

Finally…

(he drops some liquid from a pipette into the beaker. The liquid begins to change color from yellow to magenta.)

JACKSON takes a sip as lightning flashes in the window behind him. Flames surge in waves up his body, as he clutches his throat, choking.

He falls to the floor.

Hallway

The shadowy figure keeps moving, DRACULAURA following close behind. She is running now, and snarling like an animal.

Entrance

FRANKIE:

Where should we look first?

CLAWDEEN:

We shouldn't just assume Draculaura has lost control. Let's just calmly make our way to the catacombs and—

CLEO:

-and what?

LIGHTNING flashes as the clanging sound is heard, much louder now. The GHOULS jump.

CLAWDEEN:

Wh-What was that?

FRANKIE:

Look!

(she points to drippings of dark liquid going up the stairs.)

CLAWDEEN:

Let's go!

Hallway

Slow Motion.

Only a heartbeat is heard.

Ba-bump.

DRACULAURA's eyes are on the figure. She skids into position, 5 yards away.

Ba-bump.

She's lunging how, arms outstretched. Lightning flashes, and we see her large shadow on the wall behind her.

Ba-bump.

Close-up on DRACULAURA'S fangs lengthening.

Ba-Bump.

CLAWDEEN, FRANKIE, and CLEO are running up the stairs…

Ba-Bump.

Draculaura bites down on the figure's neck, but something is wrong. Dark liquid starts to spillover Draculaura's lips, onto her blouse and the victim's shoulder.

Silence.

ROBECCA's eyes roll back in her head.

Normal speed.

The GHOULS run into the hallway. DRACULAURA is at the far end, slinking away into the shadows.

Scene 16:

Monster High:

Hallway

CLAWDEEN:

Draculaura!

CLEO:

(gravely putting a hand on her shoulder)

Look.

Lightning flashes.

ROBECCA's lifeless body is laying unnaturally in the hallway. Her usually shiny bronze skin is a pewter gray. Her eyes are white. Two holes leaking oil are on her neck.

FRANKIE:

(gasps)

Robecca!

GHOULIA:

(offscreen)

(gasps)

CLEO:

GHOULIA! You nearly scared the life out of me!

GHOULIA shuffles forward. She has come from the cemetery and is dripping wet from the storm. She sees ROBECCA.

GHOULIA:

(moving to ROBECCA on the ground, yelling in despair)

ROBECCA sparks.

FRANKIE:

Careful!

(she tries to pull GHOULIA back.)

GHOULIA pulls away from FRANKIE, crying at the sight of ROBECCA. She kneels down beside ROBECCA and takes her lifeless hand.

CLEO:

It's OK! I mean, you fixed her before, right…?

GHOULIA moans something between sobs.

CLAWDEEN:

(solemnly)

I can't believe Draculaura did this. It just doesn't seem like it's something she could be capable of doing.

CLAWD enters, holding JACKSON up on his shoulder. JACKSON seems to be out cold.

CLAWD:

I think his potion worked, but he's knocked out—

(noticing Robecca)

Whoa.

GHOULIA:

(crying)

CLAWD:

It's going to be okay, we're gonna catch the person that did this!

CLAWDEEN:

That "person" happens to be your girlfriend.

CLAWD:

(refusing to believe it)

Nah. There's no way!

CLAWDEEN and CLEO are holding ROBECCA up by their shoulders. GHOULIA is hovering behind.

CLAWDEEN:

(gesturing to the still-oozing neck wound)

Who do you suppose did this then?

CLEO:

Where are we even taking her?

GHOULIA:

(moans)

FRANKIE:

She's right! To Hexiciah's workshop!

Hexiciah's Workshop

ROBECCA is laying on a table. GHOULIA is examining her, wearing maximizing goggles. JACKSON is passes out nearby.

CLEO, CLAWDEEN, FRANKIE, and CLAWD are are looking around at the mess while GHOULIA works.

FRANKIE:

(concerned)

What has been going on down here…?

CLAWD:

Never mind that! What are we going to do about Draculaura?

FRANKIE:

You don't think she did that, do you?

CLEO:

Who else could it have been?

FRANKIE:

T-There are plently of vampires living at Monster High—

CLAWDEEN:

I don't think so, Frankie.

We're gonna have to go back.

LIGHTNING flashes.

Monster High:

Entrance

The heavy doors creak open. The GHOULS' shoes can be heard squeaking across the wet floor.

CLAWD:

(calling out)

Draculaura?

CLEO:

Sssh!

CLAWD:

What?

CLAWDEEN:

Don't be so loud!

FRANKIE:

(checking her watch)

We have to hurry. It's almost sunrise soon.

CLEO:

Let's check the dorms—

[Bat screeches]

FRANKIE:

What was that?

CLAWD activates his flashlight app and flashes it towards the noise. A large, wild-looking bat stares down at them from above.

CLAWD:

Huh?

CLAWDEEN:

Draculaura? Is that you?

[BAT yawns, showing off her long fangs. Apathetic, it flies off.]

FRANKIE:

After it!

Hexiciah's Workshop

GHOULIA is hard at work on ROBECCA. Behind her, the Time Portal activates, surrounded by blue lightning. The wind kicks up, and GHOULIA finally looks away from ROBECCA and notices the Time Portal.

GHOULIA:

Huh?

The Time Portal glitches and sputters. The Time Portal lens spits out a single men's shoe.

GHOULIA:

(leaning down to examine it)

Huh?

Monster High

The BAT flies off downthe hallway, flapping erratically as if exhausted or injured. CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, and FRANKIE are running close behind. CLEO is lagging behind.

CLEO:

[panting]

O-M-Ra! Where is she going?

CLAWD:

I think I know. There's only one room in Monster High with no windows.

[Ahead, BAT flies into the NURSE'S OFFICE. A transformation sound is heard and red smoke puffs out.]

CLAWD:

There!

CLAWD, CLAWDEEN, and FRANKIE appear in the doorway, moonlight shining behind them. In their shadow, DRACULAURA lays on the floor, breathing heavily.

CLAWD:

Draculaura!

CLAWDEEN:

(stopping him)

Don't touch her! We have no idea what's wrong with her!

FRANKIE:

(gently)

Draculaura? Do you remember me?

DRACULAURA is sweating out more of the potion. She hisses like an injured animal.

CLAWD, FRANKIE, and CLAWDEEN recoil.

Thunder crashes

Monster High: Outside

Thunder clouds start swirling in a vortex. A lightning bolt hits the weathervane.

Hexiciah's Workshop

GHOULIA stands in front of ROBECCA's table, sheilding her eyes as the Time Portal fully activates. ROBECCA's heart begins blinking with a red glow.

GHOULIA:
(concerned, at ROBECCA)

Huh?

Zap!

Whatever was trying to get through the time portal is finally does do.

HEXICIAH STEAM steps out and into the WORKSHOP. His clothes are dirty, tattered, and full of leaves and twigs. HEXICIAH himself has dark rings under his eyes.

HEXICIAH STEAM:

(chuckling madly)

Finally…FINALLY! It worked!

(he begins dusting himself off)

It worked, I knew it would!

GHOULIA:

Huh?

HEXICIAH:

(startled)

Oh! My, I didn't expect you here. What the devil are you doing in my workshop?

GHOULIA:

(moans)

HEXICIAH:

You don't say!

Monster High:

Nurse's Hallway

FRANKIE:

Well, we can't just leave her here!

CLAWD:

I think that's going to be what we have to do. She's safe here.

CLEO:

The nurse will be here in a few hours. We can wait that long.

(she peeks in through the door to DRACULAURA, asleep on the rug.

Clawd's right. She's safest here.

CLAWDEEN:

Well, I'm not leaving her side 'til then!

CLAWD:

Me neither!

CLEO:

Well, wolves are known for their loyatly….

Hexiciah's Workshop

GHOULIA

(gesturing towards ROBECCA)

HEXICIAH:

(crossing the room to ROBECCA)

Oh, Robecca! My dear daughter, I've missed you so.. what happened to her?

GHOULIA:

(moans and gestured behind her to JACKSON.)

HEXICIAH:

A Jekyll, eh?

(petting ROBECCA's hair)

Don't worry, my dear…I know just how to get you right.

(turning to GHOULIA)

You there! Would you be kind enough to tell me what year it is?

GHOULIA:

(moans)

HEXICIAH:

Egad! Already?

GHOULIA:

(moans)

HEXICIAH:

(grabbing a welding mask, handing one to GHOULIA.)

Well, strap in. It's going to be a long night.

(they both put their masks on as HEXICIAH fires up a welding iron.)
