Chapter 10

Lisa

She was laughing inwards at how cute Ukitake and Kyouraku were, relaxing against each other, oblivious to how it looked from outside.

'Sit on the other person's lap for the next round' Kensei read.

He stared at Shinji, who stared back, neither of them moving. 'Are you dropping out already?' Rose asked cheerfully. Kensei growled, and Shinji signed, before sitting down on Kensei, not trying to be careful at all.

It was a strong contrast to Hisagi, who moved his legs so they were flat on the floor, smiling softly at Kira, and Kira, who smiled back a little embarrassed, and very carefully sat down, bracing himself on Hisagi's shoulders.

Hisane and Rangiku also looked at each other for a few seconds, but they were both smiling. 'Top or bottom?' Rangiku then asked, grinning.
Hisane blushed, and moved to let Rangiku sit on her, who did, carefully, but then leaned comfortably against Hisane, who didn't seem to know how to deal with that, but still smiled slightly.

Kuchiki shifted, still kneeling, so his legs were accessible.
Hitsugaya glared at him. 'I am NOT sitting on anyone.' Kuchiki calmly looked back. 'Are you suggesting I sit on you?' 'Yes.' Hitsugaya answered seriously.
'I will not.' Kuchiki replied calmly. Lisa fought against laughing at the image of Kuchiki sitting on the small captain, back straight. Oh, please do.

'Are you dropping out already captain?' Rangiku asked cheerfully. Though her words did not hold the same challenge as Rose's had, the effect was the same.
Hitsugaya gave her a glare, and reluctantly sat down on Kuchiki's lap. Though he still moved carefully, and sat straight instead of slouching like Shinji.

It looked really cute, and she wondered if it would be worth the bloodshed to say it. Then she saw Kuchiki frown, as Hitsugaya's hair tickled his face. 'Next one.' he said, somehow still sounding normal.

Lisa laughed, then she turned to Nanao, who was sitting in seiza, and nearly jumped onto her legs, though careful not to hurt her. She sat on her lap sideways, and put an arm around Nanao's shoulder, who had to brace herself against the floor then.

Nanao didn't protest.

.

Kyouraku

He noticed a slight blush on Nanao's face as Lisa naturally sat down on her, and he felt slightly surprised there was no protest.
He wondered if that was a good or a bad sign, and glanced at Ukitake, who smiled softly at them. He seemed to think it was good, so Kyouraku left it at that.

Rose sat down on Renji's lap without any discussion. Ikkaku and Yumichika had already nearly sitting on top of each other, so Yumichika didn't have to move much to sit on him. Ikkaku too leaned back on his hands, and Yumichika leaned back on him like he was a couch, relaxed.

When it was their turn, Ukitake moved without hesitation, sitting down on Kyouraku's legs, who had already shifted his seat accordingly.
Ukitake sat comfortably, leaning slightly against him, and Kyouraku naturally put an arm around him. He brushed Ukitake's hair away from his left ear, so he could lean forwards to whisper to him.
'I think we might have the unfair advantage of a few centuries of knowing each other.' Ukitake nodded slightly, and laughed.

Like they hadn't sat like this countless times before.

.

Rukia was watching them with something like a smile, but then turned to Mashiro, moving to sit on her legs. 'I don't wanna.' Mashiro said, and Rukia stopped. 'I won't be sat upon. I'm sitting on you.' Rukia looked surprised. 'But I'm smaller.' she pointed out. Mashiro pouted.

Rukia shrugged, and sat back down, and Mashiro sat on top of her, wriggling around.

'Can't see anything.' Rukia complained quietly.

.

Nanao

Kensei and Shinji decided that their round was over, and quickly got up.

'The task is completed once your next turn is over.' Lisa stated from above her, for the ones that looked about to get up too.

The advantage to having someone sit on you, Nanao thought, is that ones face is less visible. She had decided, after considering it, that that was why she actually preferred that Lisa sat on her, to the other way around.

Kira and Hisagi had drawn a card, and Hisagi read. 'What was or would be the perfect date? Discuss with your partner, and agree on something.'

.

Hisagi and Kira agreed to visit a restaurant Nanao knew many lieutenants liked.

Rangiku suggested to go sightseeing in the human world, and Hisane smiled and agreed, saying quietly that she had never done that before. That made Rangiku laugh, and she said 'I'll take you some time.' before getting up and sitting next to the taller woman again.

Captain Hitsugaya seemed determined to decide quickly, Nanao wondered if it was because he hated sitting on captain Kuchiki's lap.
He said: 'You decide, anything is fine.'

However, captain Kuchiki didn't answer immediately, and seemed to think about it for a while. 'Somewhere quiet. Hiking in the mountains perhaps? You might like the glaciers.' he answered then, face expressionless. Captain Hitsugaya just nodded before getting up quickly, but he added a reluctant: 'Sounds nice.' as he sat down again.

Lisa looked at her expectant, then, and Nanao looked back at her. 'I don't know.' she said. 'We both like libraries?' Lisa frowned at her. 'I am not taking you to a library on a date. It would defeat the purpose to have all of your attention occupied by books. We are… going to take a walk through Seireitei. You can show me everything that's changed, and I can show you what's the same.'

It actually sounded like a good way to spend time together, so Nanao nodded.

And waited for Lisa to sit beside her again, which didn't happen.

Only when she glared at her mentor, who smiled back innocently, and started pushing her off did Lisa grin and get up to sit beside her again.

Nanao didn't roll her eyes, instead focusing on Renji and Rose. Renji suggested to visit a town in Rukongai, but Rose shook his head. 'I do not like Rukongai.' he stated. 'How about a visit to the fourth divisions garden? They have interesting plants.'

Nanao decided it was good that Rose couldn't see Renji's face, as his frown clearly showed his disinterest, while the lieutenant answered 'Fine.' and Rose got up.

That shouldn't really have counted as agreeing to something, in her opinion.

Next, Ikkaku and Yumichika quickly agreed to train together, which didn't seem like a date to Nanao, but then it seemed fitting for them, so she didn't complain.

Then she turned to Kyouraku still with an arm around Ukitake, who was smiling serenely even if Kyouraku couldn't see it.

.

Ukitake

'What do you think Ukitake?' Kyouraku asked him when their turn came. Ukitake smiled, even though Kyouraku couldn't see it.
'I don't care where a date takes place. I think if you are with the right person, any time spend with them is perfect.' he said. 'Agreed.' said Kyouraku, smile audible in his voice.

'That's cute and all, but it doesn't fulfill the task.' Lisa said sternly. 'Choose something.'

Kyouraku chuckled behind him, probably at her strictness. 'Fine. How about a picnic at the lake in the forest? I mean the one next to Rukongai district seven, remember?' Ukitake nodded. 'Yes, it's nice there.' 'Then that's our date. We can even go swimming if it's warm enough.'

'Naked?' Lisa asked from across the circle. 'Not on the first date.' Kyouraku said cheerfully.
Ukitake decided that this was a good moment to get up, and sat down beside Kyouraku again, exchanging a smile with him.

.

'I am not going on a date with you.' said Mashiro, glaring at Rukia. 'You're not Kensei.' Rukia glared right back. 'I am most definitely not. This is hypothetical, where would you go?' she tried again. 'I am not going on a hypothetical date with you.' Mashiro said. Rukia growled. 'Fine. We are dropping out.' she said, gritting her teeth. 'You sure?' Lisa asked. Rukia nodded. 'Okay. Last place you two. Next one.' she said.

'That big underground cavern the Urahara build?' Shinji said. 'I don't know where it is, but that's the place.' Kensei just nodded.
'And what will you do there?' Rangiku asked them. 'Train.' Kensei stated. 'It's big enough for us to train all out, probably.'
