Chapter 11

Lisa

Rangiku drew the next card. 'Tell your partner what you love most about them.' she read.

'That's cute. Hmm. I like that you are so determined to heal people, and are really good at it too. And you never show off.' She smiled at Hisane, who smiled back.
'I like that you're really good with other people. I sometimes think we should make you a part of the fourth division, as a counselor, since you know people so well.' Rangiku grinned. 'I'll consider it.' she joked.

'Your work is very good. Your division works perfectly, and you are very dutiful. Especially considering the work ethic of your lieutenant, that shows an impressive ability.' Byakuya stated.
Hitsugaya seemed slightly surprised, but answered anyways: 'I like that you are serious about what you do.' he said.

Lisa smiled at Nanao. 'You always think everything through to the end. You were already doing that when you were little, asking a question, then thinking about the answer for a few minutes, and then asking the next question, about a different topic, but somehow still connected.'
Nanao avoided her gaze for a moment, then she spoke. 'You are determined, unstoppable, and very direct.' she said, meeting Lisa's eyes for second.
Lisa smiled. That she was.

Renji looked annoyed, but he spoke anyways. 'I don't really know you, but I think I heard you play some music some time? It was nice.' he said. Rose smiled. 'Thank you. I like your tattoos.'

Ikkaku grinned. 'Yumi is strong.' he said. 'Ikkaku always has my back, if I want him to.' Yumichika replied.

Ukitake and Kyouraku were smiling at each other, making Lisa wonder if they really weren't together and just fooling them all.

'You are very mindful and sincere.' Ukitake said calmly.

'It's your heart I like most. I would not believe such unending caring, kindness and compassion to be possible, if I could not see it every day.' Kyouraku said, voice quiet. Ukitake smiled at him softly.

Shinji said. 'Strength', and Kensei answered 'Loyality.' both without elaborating.

'Hisagi-san has a very kind sense of justice that he follows.' Kira said, looking at the floor. 'Kira is very thoughtful.' Hisagi said, smiling at him.

Captain Hitsugaya drew the next card, and promptly frowned at it, while captain Kuchiki rolled the dice.

'A weird game this is.' he stated.

'Two.' Kuchiki said. Hitsugaya looked at the card for a second, mildly confused. Then he said: 'Excuse me lieutenant Yadomaru, but all the options on this card are he same.'

Lisa knew which card was the fifth. 'Only on a few cards. Just go on, read it.' she said grinning.

'Kiss your partner on the lips.' Hitsugaya stated emotionless.

Lisa nodded enthusiastically. 'Yes, and just so that's clear, a millisecond of contact is not a kiss. It's five seconds at least.'

She watched as Hitsugaya very carefully put down the card, before turning to Kuchiki. The older man gave a curt nod. Hitsugaya frowned again, then he raised himself and pressed his lips to Kuchiki's for exactly five seconds. Lisa could even see the fingers of his right hand tap down once, one after the other, counting. T
he he sat back, and glared at her. 'Your turn.'

Kyouraku

He nearly started laughing when he watched them, Hitsugaya glaring while Byakuya hadn't moved at all. Only Ukitake's nudge against his shoulder, telling him to be quiet, stopped him. Ukitake gestured with his eyes to Nanao, who sat frozen, and Lisa, who grinned.

Right. As much as it surprised and amused him that their fellow captains actually had kissed, watching Nanao and Lisa interact without interrupting them was still more interesting.

Lisa

She leaned into Nanao, who didn't move, and whispered 'Nothing we haven't done before, right?' hoping to get a reaction. But Nanao just blushed slightly, making Lisa do all the work.
Well, she didn't really mind, she just kissed the girl, making sure to pass the five seconds. Nanao was still blushing when she sat back, and pushed up her glasses, again, to hide her embarrassment.

Rose and Renji kissed for roughly five seconds, both frowning.

Ikkaku and Yumichika kissed for definitely more than five seconds. It was closer to a minute, really.

Ukitake

He watched the others play, meaning kiss, considering. This was for once not something he and Kyouraku had done before.
But it wasn't anything bad. It was just five seconds, five seconds he certainly didn't mind. Ukitake decided he didn't necessarily want to drop out, and to leave the decision to Kyouraku. So he turned to his friend when the other pair had finally finished, smiling slightly.

Kyouraku

This wasn't something he would normally allow himself to do, and he wondered if they should drop out. But he did want to kiss him. Kyouraku looked at Ukitake, noting his relaxed body posture, and decided that he would trust the other to tell him if he wanted to drop out.

He returned Ukitake's smile when he turned to him, and held his gaze for a moment, waiting for a change of mind, then he leaned forwards and kissed Ukitake, carefully, softly.

Even never having done this with him, he knew Ukitake's Reiatsu, body and movements so well, that the kiss somehow felt really natural, familiar.

They both pulled back after a while, again smiling at each other before both turning back to the circle. Kyouraku noted that Ukitake was blushing, but only slightly, and he stayed relaxed as they both turned to look at the next pair.

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, Kyouraku wondered how many seconds that had been, but he didn't really care.

Lisa

Well, that had been somewhat anticlimactic.

After going through all this trouble to get them to kiss, and this was it? Lisa could imagine Nanao glaring at her, asking her what exactly she had been expecting if she voiced her thoughts.

Still. They didn't even seem fazed by just having kissed. The only positive aspect was that the kiss had been slightly longer than necessary, maybe ten seconds.
But that was all, really? She glared at Kensei and Shinji without meaning to, as they kissed dutifully for six seconds exactly.

Nanao

She smiled to herself, wondering why Lisa seemed upset beside her. After all, Ukitake and Kyouraku had actually kissed, and it had been really sweet, especially how they smiled at each other before and after. And it had even been longer than necessary, though she wasn't sure either realized that.

Most important of all, they were both relaxed beside each other, not embarrassed or awkward about it. Nanao was nearly willing to say that, maybe, this had not been such an awful idea as she first thought.

But Lisa still looked annoyed, as they watched Kira and Hisagi both blush, before kissing carefully, and then blushing some more.

Rangiku had, of course, no scruple at all, and kissed Hisane, who didn't protest.

Then it was her turn to draw the next card, while Lisa rolled the dice. 'Exchange trousers/skirts with your partner.' She briefly looked at Lisa's short skirt.

'We aren't doing that.' she stated. Lisa looked at her. 'Of course we are. Come on, everyone can change in the hallway.' she seemed to consider for a moment, then added 'I mean, not everyone at the same time, one pair after another.'

And then Nanao was dragged out.
