"So, are you ready to see what your new top speed is?" Lavania asked, holding a modified radar gun, adjusted with a machmeter to record Leizcio's speed better.

"How did you even get that thing?" Leizcio said, stretching before entering into a sprinter's stance.

"Tamashi put it together up real quick when I brought her our thank-you gift. Turns out she wanted to build that. She sure has a lot of free time for this stuff."

"Yeah, that sounds about right. Well, I'm ready, is the radar gun ready?"

"Yes, I'll start in 3."

Three...

Two...

Oneeee.

As soon as Leizcio heard Lavania annunciate one, he amped up his speed to where he only felt a bit warm. Ever since that mugger incident, he spent the following 3 weeks training his speed. He'd wear weighted clothing to improve his base speed. He'd eventually do his speed training at his high school track at night. Each day, he'd return home, sweating like hell, barely able to stand on his feet. His body trying to shut down, but his spirit only was ignited by the lightning inside, he remembers that if he saved his sister, he can save others, and their family would be okay from any threat he could defeat.

As electricity starts to spread around him, Leizcio bolted around the track, each time he completed a lap, skid marks would begin to appear on the areas he'd make turns. Even after 20 laps, his speed did not falter, with each step he takes, he's reminded of why he trained every damn night, no matter how tough.

After hitting 30 laps shortly, he stopped immediately, but for Lavania, it only seemed like he stood up from his stance. Amazed and confused, she looked at the radar gun, more stunned by the speed he had achieved.

"So how'd I do?" Leizcio asked, casually stretching and going to where Lavania was to get some water.

"Damn good I gotta say. If you did as you were said and kept the same pace for 30 laps and didn't speed up much, then your base speed should be about Mach 1.2 or, one second... 1481.76 kilometers an hour. Day of the incident, you said that you only could hit 1200 kilometers with a stinging heat. Now you're able to do more than double without any sort of pain other than some warmth. It's incredible really."

"..."

"Oh so now it's you that's silent?"

"Yeah, honestly, I'm kind of speechless that I'm able to go that fast. I wonder how fast I could go If I went ov-

-bonk-

"Ow! Why?"

"Don't be an idiot! You already read what could happen if you overdo it! Don't do it just because you want to see how fast you go! It's something you should only do when you're in extreme danger!" Lavania yelled at him. It was very rare that she'd raise her voice towards anyone, but inside, she's scared for Lei. He obtained a quirk any kid back then would want. She doesn't want to see him go overboard and get hurt or, No, she couldn't bring herself to think that. She doesn't want to lose the only family she has left.

"Yeah, you're right. Plus if I can go this fast now, imagine how fast I'll be by the time I get into UA!"

"You're right, and while I do support your speed training, you still have to train your electricity."

Leizcio kind of forgot about that part. Guess superspeed shadows the electric part a bit. He hasn't thought of any other way of using it other than focusing it on his fists. While versatile, he probably shouldn't be practicing anywhere near home. That'd cut off the power to the cafe and he'd never hear the end of it from the customers, Lavania, heck even Pech.

"You're right, but how would I go about training it? Can't exactly be doing all that fancy stuff back home."

As they stood in silence trying to think of a solution, they went back home from the track, still trying to ponder where exactly he'd train his quirk. Leizcio thinking of a stupid idea of course, thought that he could 'borrow' equipment from his father's agency. Even he had to mentally slap himself for such a stupid idea.

Once they had arrived home, they were greeted by Pech, awoken from his nap. Leizcio went to grab leftover pastries to grub on while Lavania went to sit at one of the tables still thinking. Once Leizcio sat down, they began to discuss.

"Maybe I can go to some random abandoned place? Like those empty warehouses?"

"That's not that bad of an idea, but you'd have to find one that isn't around any power lines. I don't want you to be responsible for part of the city going into a blackout."

"Guess I should start searching for them huh? Should be pretty easy." Leizcio said as he went to his room to go search for areas on his computer. Within a few minutes, he was able to find one. And he saved it into his phone so he can check the location tomorrow. It was already pretty late so he turned off his computer and threw himself onto his bed, falling fast asleep.

-BEEP BEEP-

The weekend has arrived, and he doesn't have a shift so that means he has the day to himself to train completely. Leizcio did his regular morning routine, and put on his weighted clothes, now coming to be about 25 pounds each. Even just walking there, any training he can get would be good. He set off, letting Lavania know where he'll be.

Now to be able to use his electricity, he has to build it up from running. So that kinda gives him the excuse to just run there right? Ignoring the law, Leizcio found an empty place and began to charge up his speed. He then bolted, making sure not to bump into anybody as he ran to the location.

Now at the warehouse, he starts doing some stretches and relaxes his mind. Until he starts hearing footsteps approaching from somewhere. He steadies himself, ready to blitz at any moment.

"Come on! Can I not be targeted by something every two weeks! I just want to relax!"

"Calm down kid, Kachi sent me. Said that if you're interested, she'll supply you with a prototype suit that's suited for your quirk. She knows some people from Mashito's agency who 'donated' his old suit and did some readjustments. So, kid, you up to be a vigilante?" The mysterious man said. A rather slim person with jeans and a regular shirt carrying a fancy suitcase. And it looks like it's seen its fair amount of time. Or bullets in this case I guess.

Leizcio thought about it. He'd be able to get some experience on the field, putting him a bit ahead of others in terms of becoming a pro hero. But then again, this is some illegal stuff, so he can't screw up and have his face shown or reveal anything to anybody else. But he's tired of waiting to help others. He spent the majority of his life on the sidelines as he watched others be heroes. Isn't it about time he gets off the bench and join the others?

"Yes, I'll accept the offer." Leizcio said, with a stern face, showing his determination.

"Great, when you open the suitcase, you'll find the prototype suit and some equipment. There's also an earpiece that can contact Kachi when activated. Good luck on your endeavors kid."

After what he said, the man left, leaving in a grey car as it drove off into the highway.

Left with the suitcase, Leizcio opens it, finding a black undersuit with some light pieces of metal connected to it. What seemed to be in the back of it was a battery covered in armor. There was a sticky note which was undeniably Tamashi's writing. It wrote,

"Hey Leizcio, hope you're ready for all of this! This suit is made of a special alloy that can withstand high heat and mixed with kevlar in case you get into a situation! We also attached a battery to the back which will contain the energy you make when you run! When you run you also leave a trail of lightning so this will help cover it! Just remember to expel the energy so it doesn't overload! Also, activate your earpiece when you're suited up!"

-Tamashi!

"Well, that's definitely her all right, guess I'll just suit up right now. Hopefully, it looks cool."

Leizcio began to put on the undersuit and attach the armor onto it. There was also a red and black sweater with black sweatpants to put on over the suit to not attract attention. There was also a pair of goggles with a black surgical mask to conceal his identity.

Once he was done he was finished, he put in his earpiece and immediately regretted it.

"Leizcio! How does the new suit feel?!" An excited Tamashi spoke through the earpiece.

Taking a few seconds for his ear to recover, he put it back in and responded.

"Tamashi, I'm very glad and grateful for the suit, but please lower your voice, I want my ears to stay intact and you yelling into them isn't going to keep it that way."

"Sorry! Just got excited! Now, do you know what your first mission is Leizcio?"

Before Leizcio could even mutter a letter, she immediately said,

"You're going to be helping people around! Back in his beginnings, Crawler would help out civilians with the small things! Sure you might catch a mugger or two, but you need to build your way up!"

"But what about my qui-

"Once you're able to handle small-time villains, you'll be able to master your quirk! It'll force you to think of different ways to use it! Gotta train that brain of yours too kid! Now head back to the city! Just make sure nobody sees you using your speed when you're close!"

Picking up the suitcase, he runs back to the city, enjoying seeing his surroundings as he moves forward. The grass moves slowly with the wind, able to see the birds from above slowly flap their wings as they head home. It was nice for Leizcio, he was able to take a break for himself, to be free from things. While he enjoys the life he has despite its rough edges, it's nice to be himself. To just run, no longer bound by the chains hidden in his mind that would hold him back.

As he approaches, he begins to slow down until he's entered the city at a walking pace. He taps his ear, contacting Tamashi.

"Hey kid! That was fast! You ready for your little patrol!"

"Yeah, so what do I do?"

"Simple! You help people with the small things! Guide those who are lost, save people's phones before they drop onto the floor, the usual!"

As much as Leizcio liked helping others, he felt kind of cheated since he wasn't going to be using his quirk as much. But a true hero is one who helps everyone, no matter how small the problem right?

"Okay got it, I'll let you know if anything comes up."

Tamashi didn't say this, but this would also help Leizcio to train his stealth in the sense that he'd use his quirk without others noticing, even if it's subtle things like catching something before it falls, it'll help to make sure nobody figures him out, and could help in multiple situations when he goes pro.

As the day continued, he did just as Tamashi asked, and turns out a lot of these kinds of things happen. To be fair, he spends most of his time either at school, training, or working at the cafe.

"Oh shit, I forgot to tell Lav how I'm doing."

He pulled out his phone and quickly sent a text to Lav telling her that he's still training at the place. As the day began to finish, he contacted Tamashi one last time for today.

"Hey Tamashi, think I'm done for today, how many days are going to be like this?"

"Oh lots of them kid, but don't fret. We'll still work on your quirk and have training days for those. Don't worry! I got it all planned out! Now get some rest!"

"Thanks Tamashi. Good night."

As he took off the earpiece, he began to make his way home. However, he could've sworn he heard something.

Help! We need a pro! These guys are robbing our stores!"

"Ah, so that's what that was.' Leizcio started to think of how dumb of an idea it'd be if he interfered. But if he didn't how long would it take for an actual pro to get there?

"Fuck it." was all that was said as Leizcio rushed to the scene. He saw 3 punks vandalizing stores, with backpacks of cash and expensive items, no less from the stores. Analyzing the situation, there's a tall man who's using his arms like whips, another who has some fortifying quirk that's focused on his arms like spectral gauntlets. And most likely the leading man, who had strange slots on top of his knuckles, probably shooting all the blades that impaled the street and buildings around them.

"Hey guys! We're all trying to go home rest! Why don't you be kind and turn yourselves and we can all get some sleep?!"

'That sounded fucking lame and horrible'

"You know something shrimp? You're funny trying to fight us! Now leave or we'll mess you up real good!" The knuckled man said in a gravelly voice, with the other two slowly joining him, ready to beat up this small hooded guy in front of them.

"No! You three are pathetic for going for these owners trying to live their lives! I don't know who raised you but I'm going to give you the beating you deserve!" Leizcio yelled in a loud and confident voice, knowing that it's up to him to protect these owners. They didn't deserve to be attacked by a bunch of hooligans and have their business in jeopardy because of some lazy asses.

"Pfft, hope you're ready to waste your life for these bunch of idiots then shrimp!" The three now enter a stance ready to put Leizcio in his place.

"Then I hope you're ready to get blitzed!"
