Sam was still sitting outside of Penelope's apartment when his cellphone rang.

"Oh my god! I messed up! I messed up!"

"Tamara? Calm down, what happened?"

"I hurt him! I think he's dead!"

"What? Oh no, I knew this whole idea was crazy!"

"I need you!"

"I thought I was supposed..."

"Sam, I need you, here at Derek's right now!"

"Okay, okay!"

"HURRY!"

Derek would never ask for help and Spencer knew it. The fact that Tamara had figured out a way to get into Derek's house spoke volumes about her state of mind. If nothing else, his friend would need someone else in the room to prevent the woman from doing or saying something that would ruin his life. So, he grabbed his jacket and headed to his car. Just before starting his engine, he called JJ and filled her in.

Home of Derek Morgan –

Tamara was out of control now; she began throwing things and breaking anything she could get her hands on. She'd hurt him in an angry outburst and now everything was ruined. The room was a mess and as she continued to pace and destroy things, Derek began moving slowly, trying to get the strength to get up.

"He made me do it...he made me do it! It was an accident, yes, yes...an accident! It should have been her, not him..."

"Tamara!"

Sam rushed through the door, wading through the chaos and mess stopping in front of the irate woman.

"Sam! I didn't mean to hurt him..."

Morgan lay on the floor moaning in pain, still too weak to get up.

"Tamara, this has gone too far! We need to call an ambulance!"

"No, we can't do that! I'll be arrested and I can't go to jail!"

"I'm not going to be a part of hurting someone!"

Tamara looked around the room at the mess she had created. Sam dropped to his knees next to Morgan trying to determine the extent of his injuries.

"This is bad Tamara, really bad! CALL 9-1-1!"

Tamara ignored him still looking around the room until she spotted Morgan's go-bag near the door. Rushing over to it as Sam pulled his phone from his pocket.

"Put the phone down, Sam!"

Her voice was eerily calm and cold, like ice. Sam glanced over his shoulder at the woman whom he no longer recognized.

"Tamara what are you doing?"

"I'm finishing this and you're going to help me!"

"I'm not going to be a part of a murder; put the gun down!"

Reid heard voices from inside the house, the front door was partially opened, and he rushed toward the steps. The voices were louder and clearer now. Before going further, Reid sent a text to JJ.

"PUT THE PHONE DOWN NOW, SAM!"

Reid couldn't wait any longer, he could only imagine what was going on inside because the one voice he had not heard was Morgan's.

Home of Penelope Garcia –

"JJ what's happened! If that woman has hurt..."

"Let's not jump to conclusions, Morgan can take care of himself!" JJ began. "I've already called Hotch and Dave and their calling the locals."

Penelope rushed toward the door behind JJ. JJ stopped just before stepping outside.

"Where do you think you're going, Garcie?"

"I'm going to see about Derek!"

"No, you're not! You're going to stay here and wait for me to call!"

"Either we ride together, or I'll drive myself!"

"Derek will kill both of us if you go, especially if he knew you were pregnant! Have you seen that man when he gets angry?"

"But JJ...I..."

JJ pulled her friend into a warm embrace.

"Listen to me. The team and I will make sure he's safe, okay? I promise to call you as soon as I get there. You have to stay here where you and the baby are safe."

Penelope nodded tearfully. JJ was right and she knew it, but she didn't have to like it.

"He's going to be okay; he's going to be okay!"

Home of Derek Morgan –

"Drop the gun!"

Tamara was shocked to see the armed man rush through the door with his gun trained on her. Everything was falling apart, all her plans for a future with Derek were crumbling before her eyes.

"I'm not going to tell you again, Tamara, drop the gun now!"

Sam turned to watch the horrible scene play out behind him. Slowly, Tamara placed the gun on the floor. Reid then rushed over to her and cuffed her and forcing her to sit on the ground amidst the chaos that she had created.

"I didn't mean to hurt him...I just wanted him to love me, that's all!"

Reid shook his head and moved over to Derek forcing Sam out of the way.

"I hope your little plan was worth it, Sam."

"I didn't want this! No one was supposed to get hurt."

"Well, they did!"

Reid checked for a pulse and exhaled when he found one. Derek began to stir again.

"Easy, easy, help is coming. You're going to be fine." Reid assured him.

"Penelope..."

"She's fine, just fine, JJ is with her"

Derek nodded then closed his eyes.

Potomac General – Late Evening

The team gathered in the cramped waiting room; the silence was deafening with the sniffling from Penelope creating the tempo for their worry. She had so much to tell him, and she felt horrible for not believing him when he'd sworn that he had not cheated on her. She prayed for a second chance, if not for her then for their child.

"Derek Morgan?"

The group stood and watched as a young woman dressed in green scrubs approached them. She held her hands up to calm them seeing the concern on their faces.

"How is he?" Hotch asked.

"He's going to be just fine. He has a really nasty bump on his head, but he'll be fine in a few days."

"Oh, thank you doctor!" Penelope uttered relieved. "Can we see him?"

"He has a slight concussion and I've given him something for pain, so he may fall asleep on you, but you can definitely see him."

Smiling, the team followed the doctor towards Derek's room. Before they reached the door, they could hear him giving the nurses a hard time.

"Just put a bandage on it and leave me alone!"

The team stepped in the room behind the doctor, Morgan pleaded with his friends hoping for help. He was mistaken.

"Derek Michael Morgan, settle down!" Penelope ordered.

"Yeah, your mother is on her way, and you don't want her seeing you being a bad boy, do you?" Dave teased.

"Funny old man!"

Deflated, Derek plopped back against the pillows. The young nurse nodded her thanks and continued getting him settled in bed.

Shaking her head, the doctor stared at her patient demanding his attention.

"When can I go home, doc?"

"I'm keeping you overnight for observation, unless..."

"Unless, what?"

"Unless you continue to misbehave."

Chuckles from his friends filled the air making Derek even more grumpy.

"Okay, fine." He conceded. Then looking at Dave. "You didn't really call Ma, did you?"

"Yes, I did." Then shrugging apologetically. "She's my wife I had no choice. Besides, I'm not interested in sharing the doghouse with you, son."

"Great."

Penelope inched her way toward his bed. Derek patted the bed and made room for her to sit. The others noticed and quietly left the couple alone to talk.

"I'm sorry." They both said in unison.

"You warned me about her years ago and I didn't listen. I got too close and she..."

"...She fell in love with you, Derek."

"Yeah, and I didn't see it. I thought we had formed a friendship, that's all."

"Are you sure Derek?"

"Of course."

"C'mon, Derek, you were her hero. You came in and saved the day. There's a reason why we are trained not to get involved, with the victims. We leave after the case is over and they stay and have to deal with the damage of the cases."

"I know, I know you're right, it's just that I thought I could manage it all."

"You can't manage how people feel, Derek. You had to know she was in love with you."

"Penelope, it doesn't matter, I love you and only you."

"But it does matter, it mattered to Tamara, and it drove her to almost kill you!"

Derek closed his eyes; the pain medication was beginning to take over.

"So, where does that leave us?"

"Well, I need to tell you something." Penelope began.

"Are we finished, is that what you're going to tell me?"

"No, it's not what I'm telling you, Handsome."

Penelope leaned in and kissed him gently on the lips. She smiled at the surprise in his sleep-filled eyes.

"What was that for?"

"I love you Derek Morgan and I'm sorry I didn't believe you. No matter what it looked like, I should have trusted you and your love for me. I hope you can forgive me."

"There's nothing to forgive, Baby Girl. The evidence was pretty damning, and I understand that you would believe that I cheated."

She kissed him again, and again. This time he kissed her back. Laying her head on his chest the couple remained silent for a while.

"So, you said you had something to tell me. What is it?"

"I know that we haven't talked about it or anything and we haven't been a couple for very long, so I'll understand if..."

"Baby Girl, unless you want to be talking between me snoring, you better spill it." He teased.

"I'm pregnant."

His eyes widened suddenly awake. The tears in her eyes told him that she was serious and scared.

"W-What did you say?"

"I'm pregnant, Derek."

A wide grin appeared on his face as his eyes struggled to stay open.

"I love you...Baby Girl."

"I love you too, Handsome. So, you're not mad?"

"Happy." He yawned.

Penelope was the happiest she'd been in a long time. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she kissed his lips.

"Marry me, Penelope."

It wasn't what she expected, but it had made so many dreams come true. Of course, she would marry him and have his children and live in their house with the white picket fence. She looked up ready to answer his question.

He looked so peaceful, it was hard to believe that only hours ago, he'd nearly lost his life. The light snoring made her giggle as she whispered her answer in his ear. She knew he would ask her again in the morning and her answer would be the same.

"Yes, of course I'll marry you, my love."
