Drenched and alone, Kaye wandered the city streets. Overwhelmed by sadness, she collapsed against the wall of a nearby building. Kaye kept her tear-filled eyes towards the ground. She ignored the people who passed her. Kaye wrapped her hands around her arms and brought them in close. She felt her knees buckling and dropped to the ground. The pain in her knees was nothing compared to the pain she now carried in her heart.

What happened at the airport didn't seem real. Kaye knew, in her heart, she knew it did happen. Confusion racked her brain as to why Kento would be so cruel? Nothing made sense anymore. Kaye was having a hard time even thinking straight. No matter how many times she attempted to figure out what happened between them for Kento to marry some stranger. There was no way he could love her and then married in a little over a month. She knew the tradition of arranged marriages died out long ago. So why?

Wrapped up in her thoughts, Kaye didn't hear her cell. But when she leaned upon a wall, she felt her cell vibrate. Kaye reached for her cell and saw there were multiple missed calls from Cye. More in likely, he was concerned they haven't been home yet. How was she going to tell her brother and the others? She stared at her cell. 'Gomen Cye,' Kaye thought to herself as she tossed her phone where it slid underneath a bench.

"You might have wanted to reconsider tossing your phone aside. Because you're going to need all the help, you can get Nephilim."

Kaye turned her head back to see who called her a Nephilim. A few knew her secret. Most of them were back at the manor. "Seems like you have me at a disadvantage. So let's level the playing field and introduce yourselves." Kaye replied as she pushed herself to her feet and turned to face them. 'Great, one on my right. Another on my left. The third one right in front of me.'

"We are assassins from the Jade Thorns. You are to come with us. Do you intend to resist?"

Kaye raised a brow at them, "Let me think for a moment. You three are assassins. You're planning on taking me where? Furthermore, you're not going to attempt to kill me?"

The three assassins glanced at one another. "You are correct. So are you..."

Kaye took a fighting stance, "Going to resist? Of course, I'm going to resist, don't be an idiot!"

A black dome encased the four. It cut off from any onlookers who would be passing by the fight. The three assassins clung to the darkness and merged themselves with the dome.

Kaye glanced around to try and see if she could sense them, 'Kuso! I can't sense them after they merged. I'm in trouble!'

A sinister shadow detached itself from the darkness and slammed straight into Kaye's back. The force of the hit threw her forward into the far side of the dome.

Kaye yelled from the impact of the hit she took. Her jaw clenched, she winced as she regained her footing. 'These guys are not messing around. Come on, get your head in the fight.'

"What's the matter? No witty comebacks? Are you still thinking about what happened at the airport?"

'How do they know?' Kaye started to wonder as she saw them become one with the darkness. Kaye circled as she tried again to sense where they were hiding. 'No good! I still can't sense them! But maybe I might be able to flush them out from hiding.' She closed her eyes and concentrated on her silver aura. Kaye dug deeper for it to glow brighter.

The three assassins yelled and phased out of their hiding places with their eyes covered. They stumbled a bit but then recovered as the three started to regain their sight. "Good effort, but not good enough!"

Kaye opened her eyes and saw the three assassins trapped her in between them once more. She shifted into a fighting stance as her eyes glanced around to see who would come at her next.

They were not going to give Kaye any opportunity to fight. They wasted more than enough time. Furthermore, they raised their hands, with their palms facing their target. Likewise, they started to chant under their breaths.

Kaye felt herself rise off the ground. She tried to move, but her body wouldn't respond. Kaye yelled in extreme pain when they launched their spell at her. Black lightning intertwined all over her body. It continued to shock her until a wall of black energy encased her. Within moments, it pulsated and then vanished as it left Kaye's unconscious form laying on the ground.

The leader of the assassins knelt and scooped Kaye into his arms. He studied her for a moment and then looked at the other two. "Mission is complete. The suspended animation spell is in place. Lady Sana will be pleased." They all vanished. There was no trace behind except for her cell phone. It stayed stuck out from beneath a nearby bench.

Ammon completed the installation of the camera in the empty room. He glanced around when he stopped at the spot where the automatic door would open. Notified of their arrival, Ammon granted them access. The three assassins brought Kaye's unconscious form into the room. 'She's the Nephilim my mother was mentioning earlier?'

The one who held Kaye's body looked at Ammon, "Where's the altar?"

Ammon broke his thoughts when he realized he heard the question. "Right." He pushed another button, a section of the floor opened. An altar rose from the opening and then locked in place.

Once the assassin saw the altar, he carried Kaye's body to it and laid her down. The three left the room then the leader put in a call to Sana.

Ammon studied Kaye's unconscious form. He frowned, 'She's the one my so-called stepfather loves?' Ammon watched a little longer and then left the room.

While this was going on, the other Ronins and Kento's parents found out about the shocking news.

"Wait, back up. What did you say, lady? You're Kento's..." Rowen started to ask.

Sana glanced around the room. She could start to feel the tension. She didn't let it affect her. "I'm Kento's wife."

Cye looked towards him, "Kento is this some sick joke, not funny."

Kento's body tensed. His fists clenched at his sides. 'Here goes,' He shook his head, "It's no joke. Sana and I were married when I was in China during my training."

Ryo, Sage, and Rowen glanced at one another. They were having a hard time wrapping their heads around what they just heard. The three turned their attention towards Kento's parents. They were just as shocked.

Cye scowled at him, "Where's my sister? Does Kaye know about this?"

Sana played the sympathetic card, "I'm sorry, but we have no idea where she is. Kaye ran off after we told her the news. She didn't take it well."

"What did you expect? How would you think she'd take the news of what you just said?" Cye asked in disbelief. He reached in his pocket and got his cell as he started to call his sister.

"Cye..." Kento started to say. But Kento was cut off from saying anything else because of the glare he was getting from him. He then turned his attention to his parents, "Ma, Pa, listen..."

Mrs. Rei Faun couldn't find the words to talk to her son. She closed her eyes and looked away from him.

Sana took hold of Kento's hand, "I understand how hard this news is to take."

Mr. Rei Faun narrowed his eyes at her. "You have no idea. If you think we're going to accept you into our family, then you're gravely mistaken." Kento's father turned his attention towards his son. The disappointment was evident in his tone. "Kento, I thought better of you. I've always been so proud of everything you've accomplished in life until now. I feel like I don't even know my son anymore."

Kento's eyes went wide, "Pa..."

Mr. Rei Faun shook his head, "No, son, what you've done is dishonorable. You have shamed our family by marrying a stranger. I thought you were ready to become serious with your life. It was why I agreed with you about going to China for training. It turns out I was wrong."

Sage walked over to Cye, "Any luck?"

"Kaye isn't answering. I'm going out to look for her." Cye responded as he put his cell in his pocket. He hurried over to the closet and grabbed his jacket as well as the keys to the jeep.

"Maybe one of us should go with you."

Cye shook his head, "I appreciate it. Rowen, I don't think she'd want to see a lot of people right now. I'll let you know when I find her."

Ryo nodded, "Be careful and keep in contact."

"Right, I'll talk with you later," Cye replied as he walked to the front door. He stopped and glared back at him. "When I come back home with my sister. You better be gone."

"Cye..." Kento called out to him, but then he felt Sana tighten her hold on his hand. Kento looked at Sana. Then he rubbed his face with his free hand. "Ma... Pa... Guys, look what happened in China happened. It isn't like I can take it back and pretend it never did."

"Kento, count yourself lucky Cye didn't kick your butt for what you did to Kaye." Sage pointed out as he studied Sana. Something was unsettling about her. He couldn't place it.

Mrs. Rei Faun looked towards her husband as she found her voice. "I hope Kaye is all right out there in this storm."

Mr. Rei Faun turned his attention to her as he tried to reassure his wife. "I'm sure Kaye will be fine. She's resourceful. Plus, Cye is out there looking for her as well." He looked at Ryo, Sage, and Rowen, "Gomen, but I think we should head home."

Ryo nodded, "Take care. We'll let you know about Kaye as soon as we hear from Cye."

"Thank you," Mrs. Rei Faun said as they walked past Kento and Sana without looking at them as they headed to their car and left.

Sana glanced around and could read the tension still in the room. "I think it's time for us to leave as well. We still need to start moving into our new home. I'm sorry we couldn't have met under better circumstances." She yanked on Kento's hand as she leads him to the door. "Let's go, Kento. We have a lot of work ahead of us."

Ryo, Sage, and Rowen followed them to the front door and watched Sana and Kento climb into the back of the limo. The driver shut the door and then moved to the driver's side. Once he settled behind the wheel, he drove away from the manor.

"Alright, Sage spill," Rowen said as he and Ryo followed him farther inside the manor. "You think something is wrong with this picture."

Sage nodded, "You're right, I do. There's something we're missing from their story. I can't place it. Plus, I think Mr. Rei Faun might be suspicious of Sana too."

Ryo frowned, "What do you mean?"

"If I had to guess. I'd bet Mr. Rei Faun might have seen Sana before today."

Rowen raised a brow, "One heck of a reach there, Sage."

"I know, but I couldn't get past the way he studied her. It was like he tried to remember where and when he saw her." Sage explained as the three of them walked into the living room and sat down close to the fireplace.

Ryo sighed, "Well, we can't do much right now except to wait and hear back from Cye."

Rowen shook his head, "I guess so, but I still can't believe Kento would do something this insane. It doesn't make sense. Kento and Kaye were getting serious about being with one another. Then over a month later, he marries a stranger."

Sage leaned back and thought about the situation. "We all know Kento rushes head-on in pretty much every situation. But for something like this, I don't know. Kento and Kaye both agreed to take their time with their relationship. They wanted to make sure to get it right."

"What I'm surprised about is how Cye didn't kick Kento's butt for what he did. Talk about keeping your head." Ryo pointed out to them.

"My guess is he wanted to, but not in front of Kento's parents. I think he figured Kento was getting enough of it from his father."

"You could be right, Sage. I haven't seen Kento's parents angry. But we've seen Kento angry plenty of times. I think his parents might be a little scarier." Rowen agreed with a nod.

Ryo frowned, concern laced in his eyes, "Whatever the case when Cye comes back with Kaye. We know she's not going to want to talk about it. The main thing we can do is give her time and space."

Sage sighed, "I hope he finds her soon. If not, then I have a feeling things are going to get worse between Cye and Kento."

"Man, this bites," Rowen declared as he stared into the fireplace.

"No one is arguing with you there," Ryo replied as he shook his head.

Sage turned his attention outside, 'Where did you go? How come you didn't contact anyone when you found out about Kento? I hope you know. Kaye, you don't have to deal with this alone. Give Cye some sign. He's worried about you. So are we.'
