Ammon finished programming the last bit of information relayed to him from the other assassins out in the field. He started to understand a bit more about the man his mother had an invested curiosity. He saw the blessed family life Kento had. A part of him felt jealousy towards him because Kento showed what it meant to be a real family. His so-called family life was something no one should want. The main one who showed Ammon affection was his father, and he's been dead for a long time. His so-called mother didn't care for him on an emotional level. Sana just wanted him around because he was gifted not only in fighting. But also in intelligence. She saw him as an assassin, not a son.

He then went to the second screen and watched where Kento's friends acted like brothers. Friends. Ammon didn't have time for friends. How could he when all he knew how to do was kill people? There was no room to form attachments because, in the end, they'll end up dead anyway. So why bother? Attachments to people would make things harder. Judgment is clouded, and any attachments showed weakness. It was better to be alone and not care for anyone.

Ammon moved to the last screen. He frowned as he studied Kaye in suspended animation. It intrigued him a Nephilim could be real. Here he was watching her on the monitor. It was something new to see his mother take prisoners. Most of the time, his mother would kill her prey and move on to the next one. But this time around was different. Why? Because of this new man, she took an interest? Kento and the Nephilim he found out are or were in love. Again, jealousy twisted his heart at the mere thought of loving someone. 'Is it possible for two people to love one another to sacrifice so much just for the sake of love? Ridiculous!'

Ammon put his device through a final test and was satisfied with the results. He knew his mother would be pleased with his progress on how quickly he got things set up in the viewing room before she and her new husband arrive. A notification alert Ammon of their arrival. He clicked on a button and saw the limo park at the front entrance. He turned his back on the three stations and walked towards the door. With another click, the door whooshed opened and then closed behind him as he passed through. He thought it would be better if he was not present in the viewing room when his mother presented Kento her wedding present to him. He was curious to know how Kento would take the news. Ammon hacked into the camera feed and connected his headphones. He pocketed his device and left through his exit within the corridor just as his mother and Kento entered their new home.

He saw they were on their way towards the secret corridor and went in a different direction. Ammon didn't want to deal with his mother and stepfather. When he caught a glimpse of them going through the corridor, he slid his hand into his pocket and adjusted the volume to the camera in the viewing room. He continued his way to his room to work on his other projects.

The one good thing about being the leader's son is no one questions what you're doing or where you're going. They usually left him alone unless the other assassins needed information or a device on their missions. Ammon didn't care one way or another. Just as long as they left him alone, it was the way he liked it. He considered the other assassins more of a nuisance than anything. Even his mother's private fighters knew better than to cross his path. Unless ordered by his mother to go with him on whatever mission he took on, he figured they were to watch out for him and make sure nothing happened to her only son. For a minute, he thought she cared about him, but he knew better.

Ammon entered his room. He walked to his desk and turned on his computer. Typing in a few keystrokes and entered through a backdoor to the camera in the viewing room. Since he was the one who designed the three monitor stations and the security to the grounds, he had access to any backdoor to wherever he wanted to go without anyone else knowing. 'Looks like it's showtime. Alright, mother, what do you have up your sleeve this time?'

Ammon settled farther into his seat as he watched the live feed from the viewing room. He blinked in surprise at how fast Kento became enraged at his mother. Smirking a bit when he continued to watch as he pinned his mother to the wall. 'Serve her right, the bitch.' Ammon continued to watch the drama between his mother and stepfather. He knew she had Kento right where she wanted him. A slight familiar twinge was felt in his heart when he saw how heartbroken Kento was when he went to each monitor in turn. At least the two of them have something in common. They both hate his mother. 'Could he be a possible ally? Come on, don't be ridiculous. He's an enemy. But isn't there an old saying, keep your friends close but your enemies closer? Then again, it's something to ponder. I have to figure out how.'

A knock struck at his door. He cut the live feed from the viewing room and shut off his computer. "What!"

"Ammon, not the best way to answer the door. Where are your manners?"

"I'm working. What do you want?"

Sana turned the knob and pushed the door open as she entered her son's room. She glanced around and saw nothing suspicious as she returned her gaze to him. "Why don't you come down and say hello to your stepfather?"

Ammon growled low in his throat, "I don't feel like it. Besides, I doubt you even told him I'm your son."

She laughed as she crossed her arms, "Of course I want you two to meet. So you can get to know one another."

He swiveled his chair around to face her, "I don't want to know him. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to get back to work."

Sana shot her son a dangerous glare as she slowly lowered her hands. "I advise you to be careful on how you address me."

Ammon raised a brow, not phased by her threat, "Oh, and if I'm not careful in how I talk to you, then what? Are you going to kill me? I know for sure you won't because you still need me."

A sinister smirk crept to her lips, "You are an intelligent boy. But do not be mistaken. Because you're my son doesn't mean I won't make an example of you one way or another."

Ammon felt a slight shiver run up and down his spine. He gave no indication her words phased him. He couldn't afford for her to know he did fear her to some extent. Ammon knew she would deliver her threat. He closed his eyes and sighed. After a short time, he opened them, "Fine."

"Good, I'm going to give Kento a quick tour of our new home. I expect you soon." Sana responded as she turned and left her son's room.

Ammon closed his eyes and sighed. He took a deep breath and started to collect himself. When he felt he was steady enough, he opened his eyes and pushed himself from his desk. Ammon rose from his seat and readjusted his device in his pocket to make sure it was still secure. He walked to his door and locked it behind him. Ammon glanced down a few doors and saw his mother saying something to Kento. He waited until she left and approached him.

Kento didn't hear Ammon approach him until the boy was within arm's reach. He gave him his full attention, "I didn't hear you approach. I remember seeing you at the compound in China. Just who are you anyway?"

"My name is Ammon. I'm Sana's son."

Kento's eyes went wide in shock. He didn't expect him to make such a declaration. "Wait, did I hear you right? Sana's son? She never mentioned you."

Ammon rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms, "Figures she wouldn't. My mother isn't the best at socializing."

The orange Ronin studied the boy in front of him. He couldn't get over the fact of this kid standing in front of him. But then it would make him. Oh, man, He had enough surprises to last him a lifetime, and now he has a stepson.

"Look, I'm not thrilled on the idea either. But it isn't like we have a choice in the matter. So like it or not, we're stuck with one another."

"Hey, wait a minute. What happened to your father? Isn't he in the picture?"

Ammon narrowed his eyes at him, "My father is none of your business! She killed him when I was a kid, ok lay off!"

Kento blinked in surprise as he held up his hands, "Alright, look, I'm sorry about your father. But Sana kills him? What? I don't understand."

"You don't need to! As I said before, it's none of your business! Anyway, you have more than enough to be concerned about you? Your family, friends, and your angel?"

When Kento heard Ammon, his attitude switched in a blink of an eye. He rushed Ammon and took hold of his shirt hoisted the boy off the ground. His eyes narrowed, voice a dangerous tone. "Where is she? You know Kaye's location! Tell me!"

Ammon glanced down at him in slight amusement, "Interesting how fast you changed your concern for my welfare to be pissed."

"I'm not playing! Take me to Kaye!"

A small chuckle came from him, "You think threatening me will get you what you want? Wow, you are thick. You're not going to scare me into telling you anything. Even if I did know which I wouldn't tell you anyway. You can threaten me all you want, but I won't break. My mother is more dangerous than you."

Kento's eyes narrowed even more, "Don't bet on it. I'll move the heavens and earth to get Kaye back safe and sound. No matter what. Not one single person will stop me." He dropped Ammon to the ground and whipped around as he stormed away from him.

Ammon watched Kento storm off as he readjusted. He was somewhat fascinated by Kento's resolve. The last person who matched Kento's tenacity was his father when he battled his mother. Ammon did know where Kaye was. He was the one who set up the surveillance in her room. A few others knew of Kaye's location, his mother, of course, him, and her private assassins. For a brief moment, Ammon considered running to Kento and telling him. But he had second thoughts. If his mom and her killers found out Kento knew where Kaye was, then they would know who was the one who betrayed them. He couldn't afford the risk. There had to be some other way. Maybe if he went to go and see Kaye on his own, it might help him figure things better. But the problem was Kaye at the moment is in suspended animation, and the ones who knew how to get her awake from it wouldn't help him.

Ammon looked over towards the stairs and saw his mother and Kento talking. He turned his back to them and walked in the other direction.

Sana glanced past Kento and saw her son leaving. She then returned her gaze to her husband. "So..."

"You never told me you had a son."

Sana smirked, "You never asked. Why does it matter anyway?"

"What happened to his father?"

She raised a brow towards him, "I killed him in battle. He wanted to take Ammon from me. I wouldn't allow it. So he challenged me to a fight and lost. Why the interest?"

'Certifiable, no doubt about it.' Kento thought to himself as he looked away from her. "No reason," He decided to switch the subject, "I want to know where you have Kaye."

"I told you before, dear husband. Her location is to stay a secret. Your angel is an insurance policy. I need you to be loyal to me. How hard is it for you to understand?"

Kento snapped his attention back at her, his eyes narrowed. "I understand fine. Don't you dare underestimate me! I will find Kaye, and I will get her back safe and sound."

A small knife shot from Sana's wrist and pressed the blade to his neck. A thin line of blood trickled onto the cold steel. "If you try anything to free your angel, then I'll go after your family. Do I make myself clear?"

A low growl escaped from his throat. His fist clenched. No matter what he decided, it was a lose-lose situation. He couldn't risk Sana going after his family again. 'I don't know what to do. Kaye...' Kento kept his eyes locked in with Sana's. "Crystal."

"Good," Sana cooed as she made the small knife disappear. "Now then, we have other matters to discuss."

Kento brought his hand to the cut and pressed his fingers against it. "What else is there to discuss?"

"Why the party, of course, or have you forgotten?"

The orange Ronin closed his eyes and sighed. He opened them as he studied her. "Right, I guess I did forget."

"It's fine. I just had the invitations sent. The house-warming is in a few days." Sana responded as she linked her arm with Kento's and motioned for him to walk along with her.
