Before the chapter starts

Gabby: sooo bladromancy is basically magic?

Jango: in a nutshell basically.

Gabby: well that's going to make things fun well time to do the intro and then time for the sports festival!

The next day was the Sports festival and I had to turn in a form to Midnight allowing for the use of the hidden weapons in my prosthetics as well as the Will Of Leonidas, as long as I replace the actual bullets with Horse tranquilizer bullets. However, Midnight didn't specify what type of tranquilizers I could use, so I opted to use Shire horse Tranquilizers, the world's most powerful tranquilizers. With a grin on my face I loaded up my gun strapped it to my back and got in the Blade mobile.

I then received a text message from Gabby asking me for a lift to school and I said yes.

"Athena, take me to Gabby's" I chuckled sitting back in the comforts of the leather seats.

As soon as I arrived at Gabby's house I was greeted with a small hug from her, "heh thanks for the lift arkino lets head out"

I nodded and helped her into the car before saying, "Athena take us to school"

Athena acknowledged and started to drive off to school. On the way we saw Mineta, who saw the car and started to throw his balls at us to try and stick the car to the ground. Luckily the non-stick coating came in handy as we ran his ass over, as we drove off we could hear his crying.

Gabby giggled and said, "young fool tried so hard to avoid getting ran over"

I nodded and said, "it's always so enjoyable to see him try to not get run over"

As we drove could see Midoriya and his mother walking outside and said, "Athena pull over"

Athena then pulled over and opened the door and I said, "hey there Midoriya need a lift?"

Midoriya's mother looked shocked and said, "Izuku, do you know these two?"

Midoriya nodded and said, "he's my classmates, Jango and Gabby"

I gave a short bow and said, "nice to meet ya madam"

Gabby waved and said, "hi there Mrs. Midoriya!"

Midoriya's mom waved and said, "nice to meet you to two, well… you shouldn't keep your friend waiting Izuku, ill record the entire thing in HD!"

Izuku nodded and got inside the blade mobile.

Gabby giggled and said, "your mom seems like a nice lady"

Midoriya chuckled and said, "hehe yeah she is"

"Isn't this the car that you talked to the detective about?" Midoriya said as we drove off.

I nodded and said, "though it has a lot of modifications in it"

Izuku looked really tense as if he was worried about ruining it.

"Midoriya relax" Gabby laughed.

I chuckled and said, "don't be so worry about ruining the interior, just don't press any buttons and we're all good"

As I approached the campus I saw the huge amount of press at both the front entrance and the car entrance and said, "Athena, activate hover mode and go over them"

Both Gabby's and Midoriya's jaws dropped as they watched the car hover over the entire gate and went inside the parking garage, which was surprisingly more packed then normal, hell I had to destroy someone's car just to get a parking space.

Athena then said, "you just destroyed Kamui Woods 2009 Saturn…I hope he doesn't mind".

I chuckled and said, "I don't care if he minds or not honestly"

Midoriya then got out and said, "thanks for the lift Jango, well we best head off and get ready"

I nod my head and said, "I have to head by the teachers office first, I have a form for Ms. Midnight, and after that I'm touring the festival grounds to see what they have".

Midoriya nodded and said, "see you then!"

Gabby gave me another hug and said, "see you around Jango" before zooming off.

I chuckled and went into the storage and pulled out my rifle as well as the spare magazine and rushed off to Midnights office…only to hear her moaning about being able to be chief umpire during the first years match.

"oh god all those eyes on me, I don't know if I can take it" Midnight moaned.

Vlad growled and said, "I'm not to happy about it either, you shouldn't be an umpire at all"

Midnight chuckled and said, "Oh vladdy you have the fun job of watching over the third years, maybe I can wear my original Hero costume!"

Vlad said, "Hell no!"

I then walked in and said, "I'm here to turn in a form for extra equipment"

I handed the form to Midnight and watched as she went over it all.

"soo what weapons are exactly hidden in those arms and legs of yours?" Midnight asked.

"in my arms there are, flamethrowers, a gas launcher, a 10-inch blade, and a Taser, as for my legs they has suspensions in them allowing me to jump higher, retractable blades in the knees, and also are capable of shooting off like rockets and returning back to me" I said while scratching the back of my head.

Midnight chuckled and said, "I'll allow it, now go and get changed into your PE uniform, you'll be starting soon"

Damn I guess I wouldn't have time to tour the festival…damn.

As I walked toward the changing room I heard a voice yell, "Arkino!" and when I looked behind me I saw that it was Sir Nighteye rushing at me angrily.

Shit, I forgot I had therapy after school and I haven't been showing up, have to try and bullshit him.

"ahh Sir N what a pleasure to see you, have you talked to All Might?" I grinned.

He grabbed me and said, "don't play dumb with me Arkino, You've skipped 12 Therapy sessions by leaving school early, you're lucky I don't remove you from the sports festival entirely to talk to you, but you will be talking to use after the festival, even if you are tired you got that!"

I groaned and said, "whatever you say Sir n".

As soon as Nighteye was away I flipped him off and started to walk to the changing room where I ran into Bakugou who looked up at me and said, " I will beat you down you oversized freak"

I looked down at him headbutting him in the process and with a glare revealing how dangerous I truly was I said, "I will not hesitate to fold your Pomeranian lookin ass so watch it blondie or else you'll be looking for work on the streets with two broken arms shoved up your ass"

Bakugou was taken back by this and just walked of to the changing room.

"I'm gonna enjoy taking him down" I growled as I walked in and got changed.

Mina sighed and said, "aw, man, I was totally hoping I could wear my costume"

Oujiro chuckled and said, "at least everyone'll be in uniforms, that'll keep things fair right?"

Sato nervously rubbed his thumbs and said, "I wonder what they have in store for us in the first round"

Tokoyami nodded his head and said, "no matter what they've prepared we must persevere"

I grinned and racked a round in the will of Leonidas as Asui walked up to me and said, "are you allowed to bring that?"

I nodded my head and said, "Ms. Midnight gave me permission to bring it so long as I use non-lethal tranquilizers"

Mineta shuttered and said, "well hopefully they aren't used on me"

I grinned and pretended to aim one at him. Mineta looked like he was about to hurl.

Iida then rushed in and shouted, "everyone, get your game faces on! we're entering the arena soon"

Todoroki then walked up to Midoriya and said, "Midoriya"

Midoriya then turned to Todoroki and said, "hey Todoroki what's up?"

Todoroki stared him down and said, "From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you."

Midoriya agreed with this

Todoroki then said, "however you've got All Might in your corner helping you out, I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two but know that I will beat you."

Kaminari groaned and said, "what's with all these declarations of war lately?"

Kirishima then walked up to Todoroki and place his hand on his shoulder and said, "yeah, what's the big deal why are you pickin' a fight all of a sudden and right before we get started?"

Todoroki pushed away his hand and said, "we're not here to be each other's friends. Don't forget. This isn't a team effort" before walking away.

Midoriya then said, "wait a sec, Todoroki, I don't know what's going through your head or why you think you'd need to tell me that you'll beat me, and yeah, of course you're better than me, In fact you probably have way more potential than anyone in the hero course that's why you got in so easily"

Kirishima tried to be a bro and lighten the situation by saying, "Midoriya, maybe you're being a little hard on yourself, and us"

Midoriya shouted, "No he's right, you guys. All the other courses—they're coming for us with everything they've got, we're all gonna have to fight to stand out, and I'll be aiming for the top, too!"

Todoroki merely responded by saying, "fine"

Powerloader then came in and led us to the entrance to the stadium. Here we go our big moment lets get out there and show everyone just how strong we are!

As we entered the arena Mic shouted, "hey! Make some noise, all you rabid sports fans! Get those cameras prepped, media hordes, this year we're bringing you some of the hottest performances in sports festival history, Guaranteed! I've only got one question before we start this show: are you ready?"

I took a deep breath in and started to walk outside, followed by the rest of class 1-a as Mic shouted, "Let me hear ya scream as our students make their way to the main stage!"

Mic then shouted "Welcome back to the UA sports festival where up-and-coming heroes leave everything on the field as they fight for the chance to achieve worldwide fame and celebrity, this first group are no strangers to the spotlight, you know them for withstanding a villain attack the dazzling students lighting up your TVs with solid-gold skills, the hero course students of Class-1A!"

As soon as we entered the arena the crowd started to cheer louder and louder, and then a voice rung out from the crowd.

Midoriya looked around a bit nervous before saying, "uh… I didn't know there'd be so many people"

Iida then looked around and said, "I hope we're still able to give our best performances, even though all these eyes are watching us, I suppose it's just another aspect of being a hero we all have to learn to get used to"

Kirishima chuckled and said, "Present Mic sure did talk us up a lot, Kina makes me nervous" before looking at Bakugou and saying, "how you feelin' man?"

Bakugou gave me a murderous glare and said, "I'm not worried makes me wanna win this thing even more"

"Gabby baby we're up here do your best baby!" a female voice rung out.

I followed the sound of the voice and chuckled at the sight of 4 people, a white man, and his black wife going all out in support that's when I recognized who they were, it was Gravmind and Shroud the number 15 and 12 best hero from America, along with two of their children who looked like they didn't want to be there or were rather embarrassed by the fact their parents were going full on sports parents wearing jerseys with Gabby's name on it, and carrying huge posterboards with "Gabby's is gonna win", and "we love you gabby", written on them.

I looked back at the short girl who looked like she was about to die and said, "family?"

Gabby looked at me and said, "my mom and dad"

Midoriya started to geek out on them but Gabby looked at him and with a death glare said, "stop geeking out or I'm gonna throw you into traffic"

This shut up Midoriya. I smiled and looked up at the stands picturing my Mother and Father doing the exact same thing supporting me however they could.

Mic then shouted, "They haven't been getting nearly as much screen time, but this next group is still chock full of talent, welcome hero course Class 1-B!"

The crowd was still cheering but not as much.

Mic then introduced the next classes saying things like, "Next up general studies classes C,D and E", "Support classes F,G and H!", "and finally Business classes I,J, and K"

Wait there are business classes? At a hero school? Well, I guess knowing how to market a hero is a necessary part of society.

Once we got onto the red brick field our eyes turned to the podium where midnight shouted, "Now, the introductory speech!"

Literally everyone minus myself and I think Tokoyami started to blush at the R-rated hero as she stood there.

Kirishima then said, "someone should talk to Ms. Midnight about what she's wearing"

Kaminari nodded and said, "yeah. That costume should come with a warning"

Tokoyami then said, "is that really appropriate apparel for a high school game?"

Midnight then said, "silence, Everyone, and for the student pledge, we have katsuki bakugou"

Midoriya stuttered a bit and said, "He's the first-year rep?"

Sero sighed and said, "I guess that hot-head did finish first in the entrance tests"

A girl from the General studies course let out a sigh and said, "only for the hero course exams"

Midoriya looked over at the girl and said, "oh…right"

Sero chuckled and said, "that girl seriously does not like us"

Kaminari nodded and said, "yeah and we have Bakugou to thank for them not liking our class"

We all waited with our breathes held as Bakugou walked to the podium in front of all of us and said, "I just wanna say…I'm gonna win." With a straight face.

God damn it Bakugou why would you say that! Now we have an even bigger target painted on our backs because of you! The entire field erupted into boos and death threats against our class.

Midnight then said, "without further ado, its time for us to get started!, this is where you begin feeling the pain! The first fateful game of the festival!"

A giant screen the appeared behind her and started to spin like a slot machine.

"what could it be?" Midnight chuckled.

Midnight then said, "Ta-dah!" as the board stopped on obstacle race.

Midnight chuckled and said, "All 11 classes will participate in this treacherous contest, the track is four kilometer around the outside of the stadium, I don't want to restrain anyone at least in this game"

I felt a little uncomfortable when midnight said that and licked her lip but then she said, "as long as you don't leave the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires!"

Midnight then pointed over to a red doorway and said, "Now then take your places, contestants!"

This was my time to shine, just remember the training you went through in Atlantis, and the training Abdul gave you this was the time for an assassin to rise to the top!

Midnight then shouted, "begin!" and we all clamored to through the doorway.

Over the loud speakers Mic shouted, "and we're off to the races folks, how 'bout some color commentary, Mummy Man?"

Aizawa groaned and said, "how did you talk me into this?"

Mic then shouted, "what should we be paying attention to in the early stages of the race?"

Aizawa then said "the door"

I immediately started to summon Warhammer heads using the surrounding air and used them as steps to get above everyone else and use them as stepping stones to burst out of the doorway before Todoroki could freeze everything.

I looked below me at the hundreds of students still clamoring out the door who were sadly frozen by Todoroki.

"hahah I'm not letting you get ahead of me you Discount Zuko!" I shouted and kept leaping after him on the floating Warhammer heads as they disappeared behind me.

I looked behind me and saw Bakugou, Kirishima, Yamomom and Ayoama following after me. All of us wanted that first place position. It was a fight for first and soon I leapt down and clicked my heels together activating my toe spikes allowing me to run up and catch up to Todoroki.

Todoroki looked at me and said, "I wont let you win!" before trying to grab my arm and freeze it.

I cackled and activated the tazer in my arm and bitch slapped him as we ran. I then looked behind me to see Mineta throwing down his balls and jumping on them.

With a cackle Mineta said, "you think you two are so cool but I've outsmarted you! Hahahah how pathetic Todoroki, its payback time Jango! Eat this! My special attack!"

I rolled my eyes and materialized a length of chains made out of swords and threw Mineta into the ground before he could say anything else. I then instinctively rolled out of the way as an Ajax unit tried to hit me. As I rolled I noticed all the old robots were waiting there ready for us to fight against. Guess this is what made it an obstacle course.

Mic chuckled and said, "ooh enemies have shown up out of nowhere, I bet we're in for a treat here! A test of strength and cunning, it's a robo inferno!"

I kicked the ground sending hundreds of smaller rocks into the air and summoned hundreds of small dagger using the rocks.

"take this Tiamat Up pour!" I shouted sending the blades into the huge Achilles units turning them into Swiss cheese as I rushed passed them.

This was my opportunity, I rushed passed them as Todoroki froze the other robots.

Mic then shouted, "That's Jango and Todoroki from Class 1a pulling ahead to an early lead with a devastating display of power, AMAZING. They seem like ones we should watch, it almost seems unfair!"

Aizawa then said, "Todoroki's attack was both offensive and defensive where as Jango's was all about dealing what a lot of people call tactical brute force damage"

Mic then said, "No wonder the two of them were let in on recommendations!"

I snickered and continued to race against Todoroki till we came up to the next obstacle, a vast gorge with wire connecting each of the various rock pillars.

Mich laughed and said, 'for those of you who thought the first obstacle was easy. Let's see how ya feel about the second one, if they take a spill, they're out if they wanna pass this test they'll have to get creative, it's the fall!"

This was another moment to shine. Back during my training as a legionnaire, we had to traverse something similar, the losers were executed and the winners got to eat. Taking a deep breath in I leapt onto the wire and started to run on it like a ninja. I looked next to me and saw Asui jump and climb on the ropes like a tree frog. Todoroki was easily freezing the ropes as he went across, to make things hard I smashed a rock and turned it into more daggers and cut the lines I crossed, and the ones Todoroki froze to make things extra challenging.

That's when I heard a cackling I was all to familiar with, Mei Hatsume.

I looked back to see Mei had just jumped off the edge of the mountain and was now, and I kid you not, using her hover soles to fly up the side of a mountain while the wire grappling hook was pulling her up. I had to give it to Mei she was crazy, but her inventions were pretty good.

Mic then said, "in the world of heroes its hard to get popular without a flashy quirk, right eraserhead?"

Aizawa then said, "I don't know what you're talking about idiot!".

I looked behind me to see Bakugou was catching up with me and Todoroki, I had no idea where gabby was and that both made me happy and terrified me because she could easily just use her quirk to keep me in place or yeet me back to the beginning.

Soon we made it to my favorite obstacle the one that killed so many people in the beginning of the Legionnaire program, a minefield.

Mic said, "and now we're finally approaching, the last obstacle. Everyone had better tread carefully! You're stepping onto a minefield, if you look carefully you can see where those little bombs are buried so keep your eyes on the ground folks"

Gabby then said, "ahh so this is the final obstacle"

Both me and Shoto jumped as we saw her.

"when the hell did you get here!" I said sounding surprised.

Gabby pointed up and said, "oh I grabbed some robot metal and used it like a surf board to get here, it was quite fun"

Mic then said, "By the way those land mines were designed for the games, so they might be loud and flashy but they're not all that powerful, just enough to make you wet your pants!"

I grinned and started to ninja run my way across the minefield watching as Gabby got yeeted by a mine and Todoroki continued to come after me trying to freeze me in place. I noticed one of the mines was exposed so I picked it up threw it at Todoroki and watched as it sent him back a bit. Bakugou then flew past me shouting, "bastard!"

I took this as an insult and charged after him avoiding the mines, Todoroki then caught up to us and the three of us were neck and neck for first place. Suddenly there was a huge explosion behind us and when I looked back I could see Midoriya flying through the sky on a piece of metal. I knew he would overtake us but I had to make sure I would come in the top three at least so I ran and just kept running while avoiding the mines. Soon it was the four of us going for first place when all of a sudden Midoriya slammed the piece of metal on my head causing me to get planted face first into a mine.

"oh shit" I said as the mine exploded sending Midoriya forward, me sky high and Bakugou and Todoroki to the left and right.

With a growl I used the air behind me to send me flying, I will not lose! Soon I was catching up to Midoriya with Bakugou and Todoroki behind me. Soon we were in the corridor just about to head inside.

Mic then shouted, "the first to make it back into the stadium is the first-place winner! Izuku Midoriya is our champion!".

I looked up at my placing and noticed I had made it in second with Todoroki taking third, and Bakugou taking fourth. As more and more people entered the arena I could see everyone who made it, with Gabby making it into 10th.

We all then lined up in front of the podium for midnight to talk, "The first game for the first years is finally over, and what a game it was, now lets take a quick look at the standings shall we?"

Thank god the best of the best from Class 1a made it, this was our time to shine.

Midnight then said, "only the top 42 will advance to the next round. But don't be too let down if you didn't make the cut! We've prepared other opportunities for you to shine! Now the real fun is about to begin! The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight!"

Midnight then waved her hand and the screen appeared again choosing the next game, a game I've never heard of…mainly because we never did them in the legion, Cavalry battles.

Midnight then said, "allow me to explain, the participants will form teams of two-to-four people as they see fit, in theory it's basically the same as a regular playground game. But there is one difference. Each player has been assigned a point value based on the results from the obstacle course"

Midnight then scolded Mina and Ochako before saying, "The point assignments go up by increments of five starting from the bottom. For example, 42nd place is worth five points, and 41st is worth ten and the point value assigned to the first place contestant is…ten million!"

I looked at Midoriya, now I have a reason to break the broccoli boy in half and take his points for my own.
