15. Chapter 14 Strategy strategy strategy!

(note from writer, this will be the only chapter that isn't exactly like the canon version, along with the next chapter with the battles…mainly to include Gabby and Jango)

Midnight then shouted, "First-years, these are the rules that you'll abide by: the game itself will last 15 minutes, individual point values will be added together to reach your team total, everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands, swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score, stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up, so the more you steal the harder it'll be to manage them, and another thing even if your head band gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep playing until time's up"

Good so its anyone's game…this is sure to be a fun battle.

Midnight then said, "this is going to be rough, you may use your Quirks as much as you like. But there are still rules, make a team fall on purpose and I'll slap you with a red card. You'll be disqualified"

Midnight gave us sometime to make teams and I already knew who I wanted to be teamed up with.

"Oi Gabs lets form a two-man team" I said looking down at the short-stack.

Gabby looked at me and said, "why a two-man team?"

"with my insulated prosthetic legs we can avoid Kaminari, and the fact that they have hover tech in them means we can avoid anyone trying to freeze us in place, plus with my Bladromancy we can keep everyone at bay" I said summoning floating swords around me.

Gabby smirked and said, "so I'll be on your shoulders then?"

I nodded my head and said, "with your quirk and my power we will dominate this competition"

Gabby then put out her hand and said, "I'm in"

I shook it and picked her up and put her on my shoulders, "your lighter than I thought" I chuckled.

Gabby then started to pull on my hair and said, "now listen here you Greek bastard I am not that heavy!"

I laughed and handed her a cross bow and said, "it may not be part of quirk per say but I managed to materialize this with the air around me…do you think you can aim with it?"

Gabby grinned and fired a bolt which ended up tazing Mineta.

With an evil grin she said, "definitely"

We'll have to rely on keeping people away from us so my bladromancy will be put to the test during this event. Looking around at the other teams I noticed Iida had paired up with Todoroki and Midoriya had Mei, Tokoyami and even Uraraka on his side, this was bound to be a heart pounding match.

"just know I'll be counting on you to keep yourself on me" I chuckled.

Gabby nodded and wrapped her legs around me and said, "I got this in the bag"

I started to cough and realize Gabby was gonna strangle me and said, "Plan B"

I then went up to Midnight and asked for permission to use a size enhancing Quirkblade.

Midnight looked down and said, "compensating for something Jango~"

I shivered and said, "no its just I don't want to get strangled during this"

Midnight allowed it and I used a Size enhancing Quirk blade to turn me into an 8 ft tall and extremely buff man…tearing my shirt in the process.

Gabby giggled and said, "now what?"

I grinned and said, "A harness of sorts, I was thinking of having Yamomo create a nail gun and some handles for you to stay on my back"

Gabby's face contorted in pain and said, "wont that hurt you?"

I nodded and said, "for a while yes, but I can handle the pain"

I then went to Yamomo and said, "I need a nailgun and a harness to help me with Gabby on my back, make it and don't give yourself any advantage with it or I'll gouge out your eyes right here and now"

Yamomo looked at me with fear and produced the needed Nailgun, handle bars and harness so Gabby doesn't fall of my back. I took a deep breath in and used the Nail gun and attached the Handles to my now huge shoulders. I let out a small wince and nailed the next one in.

"hey momo can you make me a bottle of whiskey?" I asked.

Yamomo nodded and made the whiskey for me to drink and after a single drink the pain was gone, yet because of the quirkblade organ as I decided to call it, I couldn't feel the side effects of the alcohol even though I downed the entire bottle

Gabby chuckled and said, "well lets see what we can do!"

I grin and start to do some flips and jumps like normal while also factoring in for Gabby's weight.

Gabby moaned and said, "oh god that gave me a headache, however I think we're good"

I nodded my head and grinned, "let's take them down"

The time then sounded and I took a deep breath in and imagine multiple rings of swords floating around use like electrons around an atom. When I opened my eyes I saw four rings of barbed Konda blades circling us.

Gabby whistled and said, "not bad"

I then handed her a gauntlet and said, "this contains my grapple shot, I had it reconfigured to hook onto the headbands and pull them in so that way we don't have to get to close to people"

Gabby attached it and said, "and with the flamethrower we can add an extra level of danger to those who try to get in close, nice thinking Arkino"

I smiled and nodded at her.

Midnight then shouted, "oh, good. It's time to get this party started!"

Mic then got on the comms and said, "After 15 minutes to pick teammates and talk strategy, 14 Cavalry teams are preparing to go head-to-head!"

Aizawa then commented saying, "I see some unexpected student combinations"

Mic then shouted, "come on get your hands in the air, it's time for an arena-thumping UA battle royale, let me hear you scream!"

I gave Gabby the headband and kicked the ground adding blades made of concrete to the rotating blade wall. I clicked my heels insulating my legs in case of Kaminari.

Kirishima chuckled and said, "damn Jango going for a deadly defense"

I nodded my head and said, "be careful Kirishima I wont hesitate to gouge your eyes out with any of these blades"

Kirishima shuttered and said, "noted…please don't kill me"

I looked at Gabby and shouted, "lets take some heads!"

Mic then shouted, "Lets get this party started, One final countdown before the game starts! Three, two one!"

Midnight then shouted, "Begin!" and we sped off.

I let out a mighty yell and created a Warhammer and started to swing it at a team from Class 1B as a distraction while Gabby started to use the grapple hook to grab the head band, our points then went up to 500 as the headband added up. Suddenly I could hear epic music playing from the fourth wall hyping this entire game up even more

"Let's keep this momentum up!" I shouted while using Warhammer heads to leap around the competition.

Suddenly I see Midoriya go up in the air and shouted, "lets go!" and started to jump up on Warhammer heads I created in the air to catch up to them.

Gabby then stared at them and said, "don't even think of flying away!" before using her quirk to bring them at us.

I grinned and was about to reach out when Dark shadow slammed us away. As we fell I realized we were going to fall on top of Todoroki if we weren't careful and created two Warhammer heads to step on.

"blasted that Birds quirk!" Gabby yelled.

I growled and said, "I'm gonna enjoy making Chicken wings out of you!" before leaping at them again this time clicking my gauntlets to activate the flamethrower hurting Dark shadow immensely.

Ochako tried to touch me to cause me to float but Gabby saw this and caused her hand to touch Dark shadow instead causing him to float and our team to grab the 10 million head band while replacing it with a 200-point headband.

I grinned and said, "okay here's the easy part we just have to stay up here!"

I looked below us to see all the other teams struggle to get us and Deku's team start to land unaware that we stole his headband.

Gabby grinned and said, "booya!".

I then noticed the fact that there vines on my leg but I noticed them to late when all of a sudden I was pulled down.

"Shield of Helios!" I shouted, causing the ring of blades to multiply till it turned into a full ball encasing us. I knew what was happening Class 1b wanted to disorientate us but it wouldn't work.

I then felt the impact and when I looked down I noticed some members of class 1b were unconscious from the impact. Luckily the moment we got off them they got back up and started to fight again, unable to even get through the outer burning layer of blades. This was my ace card, the Shield of Helios a whole bundle of swords created from the air forming a tightknit impenetrable wall with flaming spikes on the outside, who needed a phalanx when you had this!

"what now Jango, we can't see where we're going?" Gabby said pulling a flashlight out.

I took a deep breath and spat out my communication device and attached it.

"Athena, hack into the camera drones and display it in front of us" I said.

I grinned and watched as it displayed the arena from a top down view in front of us.

"this shield of Helios will protect us, and also show us who's in the lead" I grinned.

Gabby then shouted, "full speed ahead!".

Mic then shouted, "what's this?! It seems the tag team of Jango Arkino and Gabby Olson have encased themselves in a burning sun like shield and are moving around defending the 10 million headband they have!, is that even allowed?"

Midnight then shouted, "Judges say yes!"

I then made small opening and said, "gabby we'll take all the headbands and be the only winners!"

Gabby nodded pulling out the crossbow and aimed through the middle hole and shouted, "forward!"

I grinned and continued to rush around slamming into contestants left and right, I then noticed one of Jirou's earphone jacks enter the shield wall through one of the holes. With a grin I activated my tazer gauntlet and grabbed her earphone jack.

"eat shit! 450-volt heart attack!" I shouted before electrocuting Jirou.

I could hear her howling in pain before slamming into her.

"like an armored Tiger tank greedy for kills, team Jango and Gabby have moved into first place and have stolen 50% of the headbands!" Mic shouted.

Bakugou then shouted, "eat this you cheating bastards!"

Suddenly a full Barrage of explosions rocked the dome blowing holes in it. I couldn't keep this up for much longer.

"Gabby do you know any defensive abilities!" I shouted trying to run around and avoid Bakugou.

Gabby nodded and said, "need a break?"

I nodded and Gabby took a deep breath in and shouted, "Mind shield!" breaking the shield barrier and making a clear see-through barrier for us.

Gabby then said, "keep on the defensive, we got this in the bag, everyone else is clamoring for second!".

Bakugou then launched himself at us and shouted, "die you bastard!" before launching an explosive shot at us.

I growled and slammed my foot on the ground sending 15 spears of different models at him. Bakugou saw this and shouted, "Sero!" before getting wrapped in.

I looked around and noticed everyone else was now focused on me and Gabby. This will be a tough fight.

A kid from class 1b then got close and slammed into the mind shield breaking it. I responded by reactivating my ring of swords to keep them away and clicking on my flamethrowers to truly tell them to back off.

Mic then shouted, "oh what's this Jango and Gabby have lost the 10 million head band!"

I looked around Gabby's neck and noticed it was gone and saw it was a kid from class 1b with blonde hair.

"nice try kid but I'll be taking this" the kid cackled.

I stamped my foot and anchored the kid in place using my blades and charged at them.

Gabby grinned and said, "oh what was that? Couldn't hear you over how pathetic you are Monoma!"

I chuckled and said, "you know him?"

Gabby nodded and said, "we had a tutoring session together once, hated him"

Mic then shouted, "and just like that Jango and Gabby are back in the lead, with team Midoriya in second place, as expected everyone's after the first-place team, giving them no time to catch their breath! What a show this is!"

The crowd started to cheer for all of us as Gabby bitch slapped Monoma who tried to grab the 10 million bandana from us yet again.

Mic then shouted, "now who wants to take a look at each team's points so far? It's been seven minutes so let's get those rankings thrown up on screen"

As the screen showed the score I was surprised, our team and Midoriya's team were the only members of class 1A who were up on the leader board the other teams were from class 1B!

Mic then said, "hold on here, this is an unexpected turn, other than Midoriya and Gabby, class 1-A's not doin' so hot, even Bakugou is losing!"

I looked around and noticed we were starting to get cornered.

"they planned this" I muttered.

Gabby said, "what do you mean?"

"I was wondering why so many people from Class 1b were staying behind a bit…they had quirks specially designed to help them with every obstacle and yet they cam below us all of them" I said while dodging more and more attacks.

Gabby gasped and said, "so you think"

"they wanted to see our quirks first hand, but we were the unknown variables since the two of us barely showed off our quirks" I said creating a couple Warhammers to stand on while the ground below us started to liquify.

The guy who looked like a skeleton shouted, "damn it, stop doing that!" while trying to get to us as we went into the air.

I then felt an aura of death as I looked down at Bakugou who was going after Monoma.

"Gabby…is Bakugou normally this angry?" I said a little shocked.

Gabby shook her head and said, "Bakubabe is normally not this angry so whatever Monama said really pissed him off".

Suddenly we fell to the ground and when I looked at my leg I noticed it was Sero's tape.

"nice try Arkino, going into the air is getting pretty old!" Sero said.

I growled and said, "bring it on freak!"

Mic then shouted, "And now we've reached the hallway point of the game, as the cavalry battle enters its second half it's anyone's game! Class 1-B has made an unexpected showing but who will wear the ten million points in the end that's the real question, sports fans!".

Todoroki's group then appeared behind us and with a confident grin he said, "I'll be taking that now!"

I gave him an evil glare and said, "bring it on discount Zuko!"

I was surrounded on all sides from other groups.

Suddenly Shoji charged at us opening up his arms and going after us.

"Gabby get ready we have everyone after us!" I shouted.

Suddenly Kaminari shouted, "indiscriminate shock, 1.3 million volts!" letting out a huge pulse of electricity that stunned everyone. Minus my group.

Yamomo then said, "what the!"

I grinned and said, "funny thing about my legs, they're prosthetics AND INSULATED" before running away while everyone else was shocked and dazed.

Todoroki then shouted, "after them!" and started a big chase.

It was an epic battle. Todoroki's group wasn't able to get close because of my blades however it also meant we had to stay on our guard because we had no other way of getting headbands other than getting close, mainly because all of our gear was wasted. Suddenly Todoroki sent up and ice wall in front of us, one that fully surrounded us.

Gabby then kicked me in the side and said, "push forward might steed!"

Athena then said, "warning, quirk blade is overheating…this has never happened before expect certain side effects"

I then started to get flooded with the memories of Minotaur…the person whose blood was fused with this Quirkblade.

"shit not here, why now!" I growled as I avoided a few more attacks.

Gabby then shouted, "Jango!"

I came back to my senses and notice I was about to hit a wall of ice Todoroki created boxing us in. shit!

Mic then shouted, "Only one minute left, and Todoroki has corned the 10 million headband and is poised to seize the ultimate prize"

I looked at Todoroki and said, "bring it on, Shield of Helios!"

Todoroki growled and surprisingly froze the entire thing over to try and break it.

Gabby then said, "hold the line Jango!"

I struggled to keep it up as Bakugou joined in as well as Deku to break through my Barrier. The air started to get thinner as I had to draw my focus not only on gathering more air, but also focus on keeping the shield up. I was about to pass out but a voice in the back of my mind shouted, "Hold the line!" pressing me to continue to hold out till the last moment.

I don't know what was happening out their but it sounded like Midoriya started to fight Todoroki for his headband.

Finally, Mic shouted times up ! Finally, I could take down the barrier. When I did I opened it up to see Midoriya was crying his eyes out, seriously is his quirk One for All or was it just tear streams because he was through solid concrete! I grinned and Gabby got off my back and said, "we did it!"

Mic then said, "lets see who are top 6 teams are!, in first place we have team Jango, in second place Team Todoroki, in third place team Bakugou, in fourth place its team testu- wait what it's team shinso? When did they come back from the dead?! In fourth fifth place its team Midoriya, and in 6th place its team Monoma!"

Midnight nodded and said, "here are the finalists for the last round, from Class 1a we have; Yuga Aoyama, Jango Arkino, Mina Ashido, Katsuki Bakugou, Tenya Iida, Izuku Midoriya, Mashirao Ojiro, Gabby Olson, Hanta Sero, Fumikage Tokoyami, Ochako Uraraka, And Momo Yaoyorzu! From Class 1b we have Neito Monoma, Pony Tsunotori, Ibara Shiozaki, Jurota Shishida, Manga Fukidashi And Nireheki Shoda From the support classes we have Mei hatsume and lastly from general studies we have Hitoshi Shinso!"

A giant screen then appeared behind Midnight showing off our opponents…Guess I'll be going up against Monoma first.

Monoma let out an evil laugh and said, "oh this will be perfect now is the time to show off just how powerful My quirk is compared to yours!"

Mic then shouted, "Let's take an hour lunch break before we start the afternoon festivities, see ya soon!"

As soon as it was over Me and Gabby were swarmed by a lot of our class mates.

"you two were so cool!" Kaminari shouted.

Kirishima looked at the handles and realized they were nailed in and bleeding and said, "woooah so manly, you did an awesome job but…do you need help pulling those out?"

I nodded my head and put a piece of the harness in my mouth and said, "tear them out Kirishima with all your might"

I winced as Kirishima pulled them out and I used a super hot blade to cauterize the wounds from the nail gun.

Midoriya then came up to me and said, "Jango, first off, I just noticed your missing a finger, and secondly HOW THE HELL DID YOU MAKE BLADES IN THIN AIR I THOUGHT YOU NEEDED A MATERIAL TO USE BLADROMANCY!"

I grinned and said, "well to answer your first question, when I got my license to become an assassin I had to remove my ring finger and also sign the paper in my blood, and as for the second question that's a secret that remains with me and the Hassan I Sabbah"

Mina grinned and said, "well looks like the strongest of us all made it, don't hold back on me!"

I chuckled and said, "I don't plan on it!"

Gabby chuckled and looked at the exit to the arena and all the color drained from her face as her parents ran up to us.

Her father, GravMind looked at her and said, "you did amazing Gabby, the way you used that mind Shield brought a tear to my eye!"

Her Mother, Shroud, hugged her tightly and said, "Gabby Gab you were beyond amazing your fight was a work of art"

I chuckled and said, "I did most of the brute work"

Gravmind looked up at me and said, "ahh yes well, I think introductions are in order, I'm Michael but my hero name is GravMind, and this is my wife Sequita"

Sequita looked at me and said, "wait don't I recognize you?"

I nodded my head and said, "Oak glen California, I pinned you to a wall with a battle-axe and kicked both of your asses with ease"

Sequita's face dropped as she said, "wait that means" and was just about to attack me.

"relax, I no longer work for them anymore" I chuckled while waving my hands.

Gabby then said, "mom your holding me to tight!"

Sequita then let go and said, "well shall we go and get something to eat!".

Gabby chuckled and said, "a-actually I want to eat with my friends, maybe come up with some strategies to defeat my opponent!"

Before anyone could say anything else Gabby ran off grabbing Sero and Mina and rushed off to eat at the cafeteria.

I chuckled and said, "well I'll just go and follow her"

Gravmind grabbed me and pulled me in close and whispered, "if you even think of killing her I will personally put you in concrete and kill you myself got that Assassin!"

I chuckled and said, "if I wanted to kill her, she would have been dead the first day of school so don't think I am here to kill anyone got that Michael".

He let me go and I went off to join the Bakusquad to eat. As I was walking toward the squad I saw Mineta and Kaminari talking to Jirou about them having to wear cheerleader outfits. This peeked my interest and I rushed back to my car and printed out a false document from Aizawa saying it was legit and rushed back to them.

"I smell bullshit" Jirou said about to stab Mineta with her earphone jack.

"actually its not…" I said handing them the letter.

This surprised everyone.

Jirou said, "well this looks official enough…we'll gather the other girls after lunch and put the suits together, thanks Jango"

I nodded and sent Mineta and Kaminari a text message that said, "you two owe me big time!"

I then got my food and walked over to the table with the rest of the Bakusquad

I bowed at Gabby and said, "ladies and gentlemen I didn't realize we were in the presences of a celebrity we should treat her better"

We all chuckled at the idea.

Gabby looked embarrassed and I said, "so lets do a group check" while sitting down with the others with a bowl of teriyaki chicken and rice.

"we have a man who's good at getting hard" I said while pointing at Kirishima.

Kirishima cringed and said, "I would have choosen a different phrase but yeah"

I then pointed at Sero and said, "a man whose only use is a human tape dispenser"

Sero chuckled and said, "guilty as charged"

I then pointed at Mina and said, "the living piece of Bubblegum"

Mina blushed and said, "well I am pretty sweet"

I then pointed at Kaminari and said, "a man with only a single braincell left"

No comment from Kaminari because he knew it was true.

I then pointed at Bakugou and said, "the angry Pomeranian"

Everyone laughed at this comment as Bakugou got up and shouted, "what did you say you bastard I'll kill you!"

I waved my hand and said, "sit boy!"

Bakugou sat down angrily and then I said, "rounding out the team we have a Greek assassin and the celebrity, boy our group really is diverse"

We all shared a laugh and talked strategy, when all of a sudden Jirou pulled Gabby and Mina away mainly to get them ready for the cheer.
